I committed to this system soon after it launched, needing a smart lighting system for a house rebuild. I have 50 units installed, a mix of Lumisonic and Luminaire. It's utterly brilliant and after two years have no regrets. Will put more units in eventually. The ease of installation and set up is amazing, as it takes minutes and connects to an existing lighting circuit. They now have bezels with a built-in microphone for direct Alexa control. They are best used in "always on" mode using Shelly relays. A key feature of the sound is the DSP and lack of any discernible point source. The software was fully functional at launch, but after two years the performance has been dramatically improved and is now painless. The sound is miles past Sonos. I have a dedicated music room with a very serious hifi system, but I use Zuma most of the time. I also use it for regular music listening, as a 7-speaker surround AV system with Apple TV+ via AirPlay and even have them in the bathroom and listen to podcasts whilst having a soak.

I'm a Chromecast user and for that price I would want 2 of them, I can however see the potential of it. It's a very tidy design 😊

Good video, balanced review. Doing up a whole house after a massive leak - like you, I am a massive Sonos fan and have Sonos throughout my old house. But I have been persuaded by the smart people backing this, the very high design and especially build quality, and above all the ability to vary not just the brightness of the lights but the colour temperature. Add in the ability to alter zones within a single room eg make two out of 9 lights brighter cos I’m sitting underneath them, and this has really convinced me. The sound is not hi fi for sure, but then neither were my in ceiling + Sonia system in my old house - to my ears (keen hi fi fan but am also 58!) these speakers sound better than my old in ceiling Kef ones and especially re the sound balance and even-ness. I’m therefor going to back them and am putting the throughout the house, but keeping my top end Linn hifi of course 😉 Also the price is already getting cheaper, esp if you buy lots of them!

Just moved into a home that has a built in TV in the bathroom. Would be interesting to know if there's lip sync issues. This product would be perfect to pair up to the TV as Bluetooth speakers for better sound as well as having a good shower sing

Thanks for the comment. That would be a great solution. We have tested it with TV, and in our testing we didn’t experience any delay issues.

@@smarthomesounds I did have a sync issue with an LG screen, but the problem is the bluetooth sound quality. Zuma recommended Apple TV+ and the AirPlay sound quality is miles better with no sync issues. I appreciate some systems have sync adjustment, LG doesn't (as far as I know), they would prefer you to by LG AV speakers.
I've posted a couple of my own videos showing it in use, also with the new microphone bezels. I think I'm a beta tester as they required a big software update.

Does this mean the bulb itself will last 12 - 15 years? Great vid!
