Just listen to Boris s play! AWESOME! Shiver and Shake is powerfull! I m pretty sure Wild mood swings would have been better with him ...why did you leave :( ? the setlist is really good too.
Yah I was there!! Ah wasn't he cute? They were amazing then and still are. Just went to see them in Sydney and they did a phenomenal 3 hr set. His voice has not changed! No one comes near to how much I love their music.
I got stuck next to a pair of asshats who arrived about 30 seconds after the concert started, then proceeded to spend the next 45 talking in loud voice. I wanted to kick them!
Because not everyone is there for the Cure. I remember in 2008 I was at a show, and a woman was dancing blithely next to me, and asked me why there were so many images of death and destruction on the screen behind the band during 100 years - I proceeded to tell her what the song was about, she was horrified.
It's why I'm wary of going to concerts. Even if it's the hardest concert to get tickets for, there are always morons who manage to be there, desecrating the moment by talking during the songs. Unacceptable. Thank God for home video releases.
Reeves Gabrels is every bit the player that Pearl (Porl) was/is, albeit obviously a different person, and presumably quite a bit better than Perry based upon how many people bitched about Perry most of the time he was in the band, trying desperately to live up to Porl's legacy.
I'm a bass player. I'm well aware of the problem with the addition of the backing tracks, HOWEVER, it is not the fault of Jason Cooper. Also, please never forget, Robert Smith is fully in charge of the band. If he didn't want Jason Cooper as drummer, he would fire him and hire someone else. He made the decision to add backing tracks after the shitty festival tour in 1998. And that isn't Cooper's fault. The 1997 shows were WONDERFUL. I've heard the radio broadcasts and they are some of my favorite shows. But to blame them on Cooper is just sad, tired, petty bullshit. I grow tired of this 20 year old argument. BORIS FUCKING QUIT. Get over it. Robert made the decision. GET OVER IT. If you don't like it, listen to the old stuff and don't complain. I complained on the video for Reflections about how Simon decided to play the bassline for All Cats Are Grey because it's one of my favorite songs, and then I went back and deleted it. Cause I don't need to whine. I would sound like you, and RiChudo, and all those other whiny babies about Boris/Jason. You can all fuck right off. I too lament the use of backing tracks, and I think Jason does just fine without them, but I've met him, and he's a wonderful person. And doesn't deserve all this bullshit.
@@eboethrasher I can't argue that Reeves isn't an accomplished and great guitarist. However, he doesn't bring a unique style and a wall of sound that Pearl did. How much of the sound design is down to Robert Smith, I don't know, but I just find that the concerts with Porl in were just sonically and passionately above and beyond any of Reeves performances. Then again, it's twenty years plus since Pearl was playing - when The Cure were at their height, they were still at the top of their game, whereas they're now old men trucking out the same old sh*t at festivals. Perhaps the passion has gone.
@@DrBataco Boris, pieza demasiado importante en The Cure. Desde que se fue las cosas cambiaron demasiado... en gran parte porque las baterías bien pensadas con estructuras largas dejaron de existir
Perry was awesome. Guy was able to play both guitar and keyboards. Roger's too unwilling to pick up a guitar. Also, that sitar sound on "Pictures of You" live is awful!
I WAS THERE!

Boris' drums sound like a thunder! great drummer
The Cure never recovered after Boris left
Boris left to join his girlfriend's group Babacar.

The only show played in 1993!
the last show of BORIS
24 years of Cooper, damn!
Boris was a GREAT loss...
i love it...i love it...!!1
Just wondering why are so many people talking instead of listening to that amazing sound?

The day Classic Cure died.......
The early sans-keyboards show!
At least, until A Forest. C'mon Perry, get an E-Bow already!
