I admire people who understand the blessings they have. This guy is way down on his luck and he still understands how blessed he is. I wish the rest of the world would come to this understanding....
this guy is my cousin my name is John Keal and he is the greatest guy u can come across. And I give my thanks to his friends and the ppl who helped him. He is still standing strong with a heart of gold. Benji ur the best cousin a guy could ask for god bless
You never know what can happen in a driving accident. His friend is correct when he told them not to move him it could make it worse. God bless them all Thank God for them being at the right place at the right time!
@DarkSilverYoshi I did the same thing on our trampoline and I woke up the next day and couldn't move my neck it turns out it was a band sprain but it scared the shit out of me.
I like cliff jumping. Anything from 10 to 80 feet. Jumping from heights is no problem. How ever I do grab scuba gear to check out the landing area. If it's not at least 15 feet deep I won't jump anything above 20 feet. That dock is about 4 feet off the water, most diving boards are 2 o 3 feet off the water and most high dives are 10 to 12 feet off the water.
thats sad. My bf is also paralyzed neck down, he broke it on a trampolin trying to do a flip when he was 14, He judged his jump wrong and landed on his neck. ans also still can't walk. he did gain movement hin hes right arm, and he uses a arm brace for the other
What I'd like to know is when the paramedics or fire dept packages up a patient for a Helicopter flight to a hospital far away, how does these people get their equipment back that they used to package them up.
actual load, it’s when there is direct downward pressure on your spinal cord this fella hit so damn hard he’s lucky he didn’t crush his skull. It also helps he’s not a little bitch this guy was actually tough as nails always safety first especially if your about to do something that you think will look “cool” do what makes you look “funny” first so your not laughing now but crying later.
Diving accidents were, if not still are the LEADING cause for paralysis. His friends were BRIGHT, Right on about the surfboard. That one paramedic NEEDS A 20th century education. I knew a Quad that attended concerts, and he was on a Ventilator, since 1980.... Talk about an OLD school education....
When I was at the Iowa Braille School in Vinton Iowa in January 99 in Gym class I went swimming and LuAnn Robertson the Gym assistant was scared because I almost dove in the shallow end and Jim Kluge the Gym teacher was scared 2 and LuAnn Robertson told me that I had 2 use the ladder 4 a while and then the next time I went swimming I used the ladder and LuAnn said "Thank U 4 fallowing Dierections". Good thing I didn't get hurt so then I knew better. Bengy knew better 2.
rambojuliuscaesar yes because there two potential injuries in this case a cervical injury would be a spinal injury in the neck So the paramedic when doing his interview probably expanded it saying he suspected a neck injury but it could have been in the back
They are getting so close now to be able to cure that with stem cell research. I hope it comes soon enough to help your BF :) I'm pretty sure it will !
OMG "I just thought he had a cramp" and I am only a minute into the video. She must win the world record for dumb statements in a short period of time. Cant wait to hear what comes out of her mouth next.
I have to get in the cold water so many times a week, competitive swiiming does that for you! but ive never seen this happen before, probably because its a poool not a lake................im really stupid
off duty pagers save lives, my dad was a firefighter and out neighbor started choking they were a larger family totally clueless of life the hippy type anyway he heard a page of someone passed out and realized the address was next door so he ran over there and sure as shit the guy was choking and none of these people knew the him lick maneuver and my dad jumped in gave him the him lick and saved the guys life but he did it by pushing down on the guys part where you thrust from behind cause the guy was so so large an fat.
bring this great show back to television.
I admire people who understand the blessings they have. This guy is way down on his luck and he still understands how blessed he is. I wish the rest of the world would come to this understanding....

John Keal Thanks a lot for sharing that piece of vital information.
What state is this
Well, that's interesting information, good to know 👍
I am so happy for him. Give him a hug from a nobody youtuber 😅😊
Putnam County, Florida.
I'm so glad he's ok what good friends he has
thanks for putting this one on! It's always stuck with me whenever I go to the lake or beach!
Lake or beach dang you ok
His friends are fantastic !!
What a beautifully dear & sweet young man Benji is....God bless his Family & Friends...
that was really smart to get the surfboard and the neck collar. that's really good thing and it's helpful for the paramedics
It’s been 30 years since this happened. I like swimming myself. In pools, lakes, and oceans.
I really! Feel like it's a miracle that he survived this accident❤
Always check the depth of water before diving
You never know what can happen in a driving accident. His friend is correct when he told them not to move him it could make it worse. God bless them all
Thank God for them being at the right place at the right time!
@ndrssz All I could gather was the water was shallow. Head first into the shallow water.
wow i'm glad it turned out to be a happy ending.. thanks for uploading all of these! it's muchly appreciated :)
Man I feel for him. I almost became paralyzed and I am not kidding
What great friends and very smart
I feel bad for that boy & hoping that he could get better soon
I have this segment on tape from the original hour long format.
so happy he okay
This is why you **never** dive without knowing how deep the water is.
Yes, that's "Cannon-Ball Kid" from Episode 317.
Trust me you dont want to go what he went through is is so scary and not fun at all
@DarkSilverYoshi I did the same thing on our trampoline and I woke up the next day and couldn't move my neck it turns out it was a band sprain but it scared the shit out of me.
He actually did put both arms out in front of his head. I doubt he kept them there when he went into the water though.
That's why you never dive in the shallow end, he's remember that the next time
I like cliff jumping. Anything from 10 to 80 feet. Jumping from heights is no problem. How ever I do grab scuba gear to check out the landing area. they are concidered legal adults by the age of 18 in canada. i dont know where you are though
thats sad. My bf is also paralyzed neck down, he broke it on a trampolin trying to do a flip when he was 14, He judged his jump wrong and landed on his neck. ans also still can't walk. he did gain movement hin hes right arm, and he uses a arm brace for the other
Heath Sinclair was also in the pastor shot episode!
Don't you people know!? No diving in shallow water!
It was shallow enough to stand in. Yeah, much too shallow to dive.
I want. more rescue 911 videos
1 of the top 4 ways to be paralyzed diving into shallow pool of water
What I'd like to know is when the paramedics or fire dept packages up a patient for a Helicopter flight to a hospital far away, how does these people get their equipment back that they used to package them up.
actual load, it’s when there is direct downward pressure on your spinal cord this fella hit so damn hard he’s lucky he didn’t crush his skull. That's the same Surgon that was featured in pastor shot
i got goose bumps
this is a miracle he is very lucky
There was no Rescue 911 episode where that happened. You might be thinking of a different show.
allgood2000 hi
Isn't there one tht a boy gets paralyzed when he did a cannonball into a pool?
Martha Fortunato Yes.
Yes cannonball kid
Benjy is adorable
Diving accidents were, if not still are the LEADING cause for paralysis. His friends were BRIGHT, Right on about the surfboard. That one paramedic NEEDS A 20th century education. I knew a Quad that attended concerts, and he was on a Ventilator, since 1980.... Talk about an OLD school education....
Safety first before going into the water
4 foot, and the bottom.
I've had noticed at the end Bengy got a hair cut.
Look before you leep!
He can walk! Awesome!
Who dives without putting their arms infront of their head? Both of my arms go in first, incase i do hit the bottom of something
I feel bad for that poor man. It was totally an accident when he dived into some 5 feet depth. Don't ever do that because you can get paralyzed.
that why u have to be so careful near the water
its soooooo dangerous to move a person who is hurt like that
AndreaB How else would you get them to hospital?
@vickiormindyb that is so sad
whoa, remind me not to jump on a shallow part of water head first.
I am glad that he is ok
he's cute lol!
The doctor in this segment is the same one from the pastor shot
2019 and watching
my fear is to get paralysed jumping into water. i always jumps into shallow water i will not be diving into shallow water this summer
Dr. Sinclair would be seen again in the segment pastor shot
Another doctor from San Diego’s UCSD Medical Center (John Hansborough from the Burn department) also appeared twice in 2 other episodes of Rescue 911.
9:17 "dog in my family"
OMG I had to listen a few times, but he said "Cervical injury" lol. then corrected it to spinal.
cervical is the term for the bones in the neck
rambojuliuscaesar cervical is a medical term referring to the top of your spine so that was an accurate statement
The word cervical just means 'neck' and applies to the vertebrae at the top of the spine as well as to the neck of the uterus. :)
Cervical spine is the correct term. It refers to that portion of the spine that runs through your neck.
rambojuliuscaesar yes because there two potential injuries in this case a cervical injury would be a spinal injury in the neck
So the paramedic when doing his interview probably expanded it saying he suspected a neck injury but it could have been in the back
be nice if they aired on tv
My cousin did this exact same thing and he is a paraplegic now because of it. Please don’t dive in shallow water
Sad 😭🎁
@ndrssz 4 feet and he hit the bottom.
That's not the point. They're still eightTEEN.
why is their always help so far away??
Because out west there are a lot of small spread out towns
Because usa is huge, and some people can live far from city/town area because of that
That unfortunately is usually the case if you're in the country when an emergency happens, whether it's at the lake or someplace else.
They are getting so close now to be able to cure that with stem cell research. I hope it comes soon enough to help your BF :)
I'm pretty sure it will !
never dive jump feet first
OMG "I just thought he had a cramp" and I am only a minute into the video. She must win the world record for dumb statements in a short period of time. Cant wait to hear what comes out of her mouth next.
She nearly could've killed him with "My thought was just get him out of the water, get him out of the water"
this video is common sense
Always don't dive on shallow water
9:17 dog in my family
These comments are older than my youngest child😂
How did the boys in the video know what to do? First Aid Course? TELL ME HOW THEY KNEW WHAT TO DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
He's lucky he didn't drown or die from the pneumonia
I remember when I had a brain surgery...My mom was very scared for me
I told her that God is with me
I have to get in the cold water so many times a week, competitive swiiming does that for you! but ive never seen this happen before, probably because its a poool not a lake................im really stupid
off duty pagers save lives, my dad was a firefighter and out neighbor started choking they were a larger family totally clueless of life the hippy type anyway he heard a page of someone passed out and realized the address was next door so he ran over there and sure as shit the guy was choking and none of these people knew the him lick maneuver and my dad jumped in gave him the him lick and saved the guys life but he did it by pushing down on the guys part where you thrust from behind cause the guy was so so large an fat.
But I told her to have Faith, that I was going to be okay
I might not be able to do a lot but at least I am alive
The resion to know first aid
u are a lucky dog
I wonder how many times he died while in the ICU =P
That's the legal adult age in the US. Still young, but according to the law an adult. That's the government for ya.
Eight-TEEN is not a teenager? Really?
hair-dos
hang ten
feet first first time
