  • Usually, if a recipe calls for coconut we simply go to the pantry and pull out a bag of shredded coconut. Pretty easy, huh? But if you've got fresh coconut on hand, and you know how to open a coconut you can always substitute with freshly shredded or grated coconut.

My son went to Walmart with his granddad and brought back a coconut, so I ended up here lol. Great video by the way.

Here's my advice to you, and it's for safety: before use the screwdriver to poke holes in coconuts, you have to wash them before you use it.

HOLY CRAP! Firstly, thank you for a super easy and fast way to open a coconut. I just opened my first coconut and tasted the white. So good. Secondly, I went to get the peeler and then I heard you say "eat it with the skin on" so I thought eh, might as well give it a nibble...
Well sh#t a brick and build a house!!!! I'm OBSESSED! I CAN'T GET ENOUGH!!! The thin brown skin gives the coconut a nutty taste which is absolutely DEVINE! Thank you!

Mr. Food Test Kitchen Thank you. I have been really enjoying getting into eating healthier. About 2 Years ago I stopped drinking Cows Milk and I have to admit, my body like the change. I've been buying Organic Coconut Milk but as you know, it can get pricey. So, I decided to buy the raw Coconut and make my own healthier version with only 3 ingredients and it taste incredible. However, cracking the Coconut took the enthusiasm right out of the process. I haven't made it since lol. Until I stumble over your Video. You made it so plain and simple, I felt not so bright (again, smiling). The truth is, it worked and I'm happy. No more pricey Coconut Milk with all the additives for me. Thank you Again.
