Wow, that is amazing 😲. Genius and very innovative design. Such a wide speed range, slow and stable, plus quick enough to loop. So glad UA-cam recommended this to me. Great flying too.
Hi, very impressed, be careful maybe the airforce will want you to do next generation of aircraft, my respect, THANKS for the video, have a great weekend, from texas, usa.
I have watched hundreds of rc aircraft videos over the years and yours are by far the best videos out there bar none. They are up close where you can actually see the rudder move instead of a black spec in a bunch of clouds a mile away. The music you play is very relaxing and sometimes very apropos as in the lazy bee video. No sound of the wind making it impossible to hear what people are saying. You also renewed my interest in an old Sig Riser that I had crashed years ago so I brought it up from the basement and completely rebuilt the old girl. Being a scratch builder I have never really enjoyed the crash videos knowing the time, expense and heart that goes into these aircraft that we all enjoy. I just wanted to thank you for your wonderful videos and a thanks to what must be your girl behind the camera. Always looking forward to your next video. Sincerely Chip, Casco Maine
Thank you Chip. The videos are always good fun to make but it’s even nicer to hear positive feedback. My wife, Caroline, is great with the camera and she doesn’t moan too much about standing on a windy hillside.
Fantastic again. Slope soaring is so relaxing and exhilarating at the same time. Build another one that has the X at the front a fly them with a mate at the same time 😃😲
So would you agree "you" can make almost anything fly... 🤔 Lol! Very interesting and smooth flight. I take it that a hand catch landing is a must with this plane... 😉👍
When ducking under your plane it reminds me of the time I hit my brother in the forehead with the wing of my Gentle Lady. We were both slope soaring at the same time. He didn't get hurt, we still laugh about it. 🤣🤪
Awesome ! Be great to have plans for this one. I have a son who is a Star Wars fan and would be great to dress it up more like a X-wing. Keep them coming.
CG, washout, horizontal stabilizer incidence. I am a troglodyte. It looks like there is a lot going on aerodynamicly for it to be so stable across that speed envelope. A fun puzzle
you sir are a grand flyer but i would love to see.. If you have any, some crash videos of yours to know that even you can put it on the ground wrong would be nice I think they would get just as many views as all your others.
@John Woodfield RC Gliders Yes, I've just found it on Google Earth, the direction this weekend is forecast to be wsw, we're down for the indoor flying at Winnards Perch on Sunday afternoon, shame. If you've got any indoor models pop along or, if not, you can fly one of mine 🙂
Funnily enough, I was already planning to come along to the indoor fly on Sunday. I’ve never flown indoors before and was going to build something specifically for it. However, I’ve kind of run out of time unless I quickly build something out of depron.
Tell me john, you are not terrestrial do you. I'm months now trying to fly a normal glider, crashing continuosly on Hill and you can fly a washing machine if would have wing
out of this world, I love non conventional airplanes. Well done, outstanding !
Thank you!
Hope your having a good day jure!
0:13 Ouch, what a sneeky attack from the X-Wing.

DO SOMETHING EPPIC...FLY AN R/C BALLOON....
Great John, More Alien looking aircraft. Love it!
Thank you!
Simply gorgeous!
Cheers,
Chris
Thank you!
Hi there lovely model and beautiful flying. I'd have to paint it half way so I can tell which way I it's.
Thank you.
Increíble la capacidad que tienes para diseñar, construir y volar aeromodelos, un mundo fascinante este del Aeromodelismo.
Thank you!
I love it !
Greetings from France
That slopes really well, nice and steady, no drama. Not too far from a Star Wars X-Wing fighter or Klingon Bird of Prey...hint-hint.

Amazing
impressive unusual model, the aerial movement is interesting
how gorgeous
Beautful John !
Wonderful !!
Many thanks!
That looks so Sci Fi epic.
Just watch out that the Americans dont shoot it down .
Fantastic again. Slope soaring is so relaxing and exhilarating at the same time. Build another one that has the X at the front a fly them with a mate at the same time 😃😲
Great idea!
I'll bet this one would fly backwards almost as is!
Just a normal looking glider. Definitely NOT a Chinese spy drone.
Wonderful as ever. Glad it didn't knock you off your perch !
You win this weeks prize for the most extreme layout!
Fantasterific!
Wonderful aircraft, a delight to see it soaring.
Mr. Woodfield, I've always admired your planes, but this one is brilliant!
Many thanks!
it flies lovely
So says Luke, "Red 5 standing by"...
👍 The FORCE.... is strong, in this one ! 🫡
X-Cellent Wood Bee, A Great Name For Her... 😜🤣🤣😁😎
So would you agree "you" can make almost anything fly... 🤔 Lol! Very interesting and smooth flight. I take it that a hand catch landing is a must with this plane... 😉👍
I’m sure if it was balanced correctly and there was enough lift, just about anything would fly!
Stunning. So stable too. In America, it would most likely be shot down by a Sidewinder fired from an F22.
Great shape!😀😀
Wow!
Awesome 👌👏👏👏

Too freakin cool.
Thank you!
@@SlopeRCGliders seriously need to put out these masterpieces in kits. So wish I had a slope…
Super, magnifique 👍👍👍
太羡慕你的生活了
X Model flying so well.In fact seems to be a canard bi-plane in X.Aerodynamical efficiency seems excellent.
More sincere sincere congrats !
Thank you.
Looks amazing!
This has to be one of your best own unusual design gliders I have seen.
If anyone is looking for it in the sky just say X marks the spot.😉
So I'm not the only one who has to duck when they fly! LOL!
👍💪✌
Awesome ! Be great to have plans for this one. I have a son who is a Star Wars fan and would be great to dress it up more like a X-wing. Keep them coming.
Thank you. I did think about doing it in ‘star wars’ colours but didn’t think it looked enough like an x-wing fighter to start with.
X Cellent!

I like that very much John. Looks fantastic 👌Does the upper dihedral cancel out the lower anhedral so it behaves like a 'regular' canard ?
Thanks Simon, it feels just like a regular canard. Just looks strange in the air though.
This is so cool! Is there a plan or is it still just all in your head?
Unfortunately I don’t have a plan. It’s another one I made up as I went along.
your imagination has no limits
Looks like Perrenporth, do they still have a gliding club at the old WWII airfield there?
It is Perranporth, but the gliding club hasn’t been there for quite a few years.
Hl.manda planos xfa esta tuani

I do have lots of mishaps. One day I will put them all together in a video….
Definately on to something here can't help be drawn in by way it moves.
It does some manoeuvres really well as it still gets some lift even when it’s on its side. However, landing it can be tricky!
Thanks John pretty amazing design, watch channel as once got best build and longest flight for a west wings merlin, 44 yrs ago ! @@SlopeRCGliders
Hi John
Great video as always. Just one question does the canard control roll as well as elevation and would ailerons work?
Thanks you. The canard is just for elevation. It has ailerons on the lower wing.
What a nice place. Sun always seems to shine. Where is it ?
I’m in Perranporth, Cornwall.
The scenery looks very similar to where the Ripping Yarns episode of Winfrey's Last Case was filmed in 1979.
Fantastic where is the CG
It’s about where the orange and black meet on the fuselage.
@@SlopeRCGliders Thanks
Where is this slope over ocean?
It’s Cornwall U.K.
I wonder what is the advantage of x wings
There isn’t really any advantage.
Ailerons on the top wing?
They are on the bottom wings.
@@SlopeRCGliders What wind direction does your slope fly John and where is it?
The slope I mostly fly from is at the end of Perranporth beach and is good in a Northerly round to a Westerly.

I heard his mother had to pluck feathers off of him when he was small ...
level your wings
hello John, I noticed a part of your video is shown here ua-cam.com/video/ypMsw2ITzWc/v-deo.html at 2:04 , I wonder if they asked before.. ?
I hadn’t seen that. They didn’t ask but at least they credited me.
