    Great video guys....and great to meet you both at last weekend's show in Harrogate. I've just had a SmartShunt fitted to our CV40 campervan so will be following your video advice to set it up with my dual 100ah lead acid leisure battery system. I don't intend monitoring my starter battery or temperature via the aux input so do I set it to 'Mid point' or 'None' given I have two 100ah batteries connected together? Also will you be doing a future video on connecting the Cerbo GX as adding a screen might be a future upgrade?

    Very nice--thank you for posting. Quick question: Is it acceptable to connect the small positive wire to the positive bus bar--instead of the battery switch shown in the video?

    • @BlueFix
      @BlueFix  9 місяців тому +1

      The reason we don’t do that is for troubleshooting. we feel it’s important to always have power to the shunt. If the main fuse was to ever blow the shunt would loose power if it was on the bus bar. If it was on the battery That would be the first thing to check why the system wasn’t working. If it was the main fuse that blew you could still log into the shunt and see the state of charge on the battery

    Hi, have 3 smart solar chargers in parallel with parallel battery bank. The 100/30 is receiving current and voltage. The 100/20 and 100/50 are only receiving voltage. All show good blue tooth strength. Can you comment on this situation? I guess the 100/30 is the allocated master charger in the network, and coordinates the entire charging network on the basis of its use of external battery current sense from SmartShunt.
    The last 3 battery settings disregarding zero current calibration are… “keep SOC” as you recommend
    State of charge…. -
    Synchronise SOC to 100%. ??? What is this for? Do I press blue synchronise when battery reaches the 14.4V recommended boost charge voltage for my batteries?
    Another question is true capacity of batteries. Nominal capacity entered is 510Ahr. I presume Ahr count is 0 at full charge and 100% synchronisation, and usable battery capacity is revealed when batteries reach the 12.9V 20% floor. This would then give an estimate of true capacity of battery bank.
    Thanks, DG

      @@BlueFix system established now and on auto mostly. I view soc as approximate and don’t take much notice of it unless below 40%. Have capacity estimate at about 300 from 20% to 90% approx, so a little on the low side, and synchronise to 100% occasionally.
      The main issue is was erratic charging but determined this is due to insufficient power for all chargers. In full sunlight they run at capacity. Partial sun light I get more output using just one charger at a time. Cheers

    Hi can we ask a question please. We have two * 110amp lithium fitted and a victron shunt.
    Arrived on site definitely on 100% charge as it’d been plugged in.
    Used 12V TV and lights and blown air heating which we think is about 5% used (roughly 3 hours)
    Then used CPAP machine overnight which is 50w for 8 hours.
    So we think the CPAP alone wouod use about 15% of the 220amp hours we have.
    However this AM we awoke to 93% charge when we expected abouy 80%.
    Today we’ve had some medium solar for 6 hours. Which apparently topped the batteries back to 100% however we believe it’s reading too high. The voltage says we are on 13.25 but the battery reading is still showing as 99%
    This is a new system. Do we need to calibrate it? It was professionally fitted

    Is it ok to run my vehicle chassis grounds (engine block, firewall, and fender) to system minus? I’ve had mine wired this way on my Jeep for several months now, and haven’t had any issues. Someone recently pointed out to me that it might be dangerous and now I’m doubting myself. I have a Jeep TJ with a non-smart alternator and 4.0L engine.

    Charged voltage at 13.5??? So when the SS senses the battery at 13.5 and meets the tail current parameter it will record 100%. I have seen this set much higher by most everyone else.

      @BlueFix  Рік тому

      Torque specs around 2.5nm for 10mm on brass. Those settings are typical for the Victron branded LiFp04 batteries. It really does depend on the battery cells, on EcoTree 230ah we use 14.2/13.6, tail current 3% (6.9 a) PE 1.05 and CE 99%

    Strange settings guys
    Jonas explained the charged voltage needs to be 0.2v lower then the mppt absorption
    So says you have 14.4v absorption and 13.5v float
    In the shunt it should be 14.2v and 13.5v float
    I tried these settings but you don’t get a correct sync
    But each to their own

    • @BlueFix
      @BlueFix  Рік тому

      The Victron Lifepo04 setting is 14.2 float, 13.5 charged (cold) voltage. I have found that 13.6 is a better charged voltage and it stops the shunt setting to 100% too early.
