Won't do anything to fight the homeless problem, but can definitely find the time to harass a man for building permits and fines. Got to love LA.

Instead of wasting time and resources being salty, why don't these city officials DO THEIR JOB FOR ONCE and help the public.
This is disappointing. This is right up the street from my parents house and my family and I look forward to seeing the house when we visit my parents for the holidays.

Instead of killing the Christmas spirit, the City of La Mirada should help the homeowner to secure the addition so people can enjoy this unique display…Christmas spirit must prevail in these difficult times…do not remove it! I’ll be happy to make my contribution for the fine, just to keep the City of La Mirada officials happy.

What is the problem with these power tripping town leaders. I think everyone they judge should descend on their houses for an inspection and impose fines for every little detail to the letter of the law. Glass houses people. Punish the haters who stand in the way of happiness and joy. Why do they feel the need to deny us unity.

Because the city knows he won’t take it down so they calculated what the permit would of cost if he would of got one beforehand and made that the fine. The city don’t care if it’s safe or not, they just want the money. I see that mentality in my city all the time. After you pay the money for the permit anything goes whether it’s by the book or not. Plus if the city hired a contractor to do work for them, they look the other way when it comes to code. I sued my city and won when one of their hired contractors did not do a utility installation by code and the inspector said it passes. So like I said it’s the money regardless if he got a permit or not. All city officials are nothing but a bunch of troublemaking pricks. They go out of their way to make it.

God bureaucracy sucks. Who do they fear it’s a safety hazard to, the homeowner? Onlookers? So what it’s his house it’s not even livable or usable it’s a temp structure. Sometimes I think people in these micromanaging small worlds of power seek those jobs out to fill some void from a messed up childhood where they were bullied and felt powerless and having these small authorities over regular people just living their lives is how they revenge the world.
I'm a die hard Christmas Vacation fan. Went to discover the guy who runs this is just trying to chat up the ladies. Which is ok.. but he's no true movie fan. He just found a way to do what he likes.
