      Procreate is easy to learn. Just pick a brush and start painting.
      Painting itself is endlessly challenging but that's what makes it so wild =)

    • @angrymikko
      @angrymikko  4 роки тому +6

      It’s definitely longer than what I do in my livestream. It kinda dawned on me when transferring the files and I noticed it’s 8gigs of video per file and I had about 7 of them x_X I think it’s about 5 to 8 hours and then about 2 days of video and audio editing.
      I should start tracking time for video production because I’m pretty sure I always under estimate the time it takes and then I’m hard on myself for not being productive.
      Time tracking would probably help with this problem but it’s something that is still a challenge to me. I’m still learning all this.

    Oh god, driving inspiration is a huuuuuge one for me! More for storytelling than painting though - visual inspiration is more random. I got to the point last year where I truly considered voice recording my car trips so I could talk through the character dialogues in my head and go write them down later. 😂 (I think that’s why the car is so effective for me - I’m better at creating dialogue when I can verbalise it, and when you’re alone in your car, nobody can hear you yelling at yourself in strange accents... hopefully.)

    Another great piece of work man! Thank you for sharing. Out of curiosity, I'm new to digital art, why do you suggest not using the smudge tool? I've heard other digital artists say the same, just never heard the reason why. Thank you again.

    • @angrymikko
      @angrymikko  4 роки тому +2

      I think the reasons are quite complex so that's why people don't think about it too much. In short: you REALLY need to know how brush strokes work and especially in digital art people just aren't taught how to do that since that knowledge stems from traditional art and as such is a pretty rare skill to see these days.
      When someone uses a smudge to smear colours together it immediately reveals that lack of planning since that smudge stroke is the most obvious one where we can see the brush stroke direction and edge softness or hardness where it probably doesn't fit.
      Now of course brush strokes are something that is 100% learnable(I'm just going to call that a word lol) skill. However smudge brush is the worst place to start learning that and it's the worst tool for beginner artists because it can offer an escape to situations where they're not sure where, how and in what colour they should place an edge. All those decisions where actual growth is so I can't recommend it 90% of the time.
      There's an advanced brush strokes tutorial on my channel but each one of the techniques does take time and patience so I can't offer any quick and easy solutions to this. Because honestly I don't there are any. This reply could be a whole video script by now lol. I hope I didn't start all this by saying something like "in short" or "in a nutshell" this is a coconut shell of a reply. 🏝

      it has a dropbox link to procreate 4.1 default brushes including the oriental brush in the folder named ‘painting’.

      That’s strange I’m looking at it on my phone right now and it has the same category and name as the iPad version. It was once called sumi brush, could they have changed it back for some? 🧐

    Hello. I recently went to your Gumroad to buy the brushes that were used in this video. I payed for the brushes and it charged my card 4 times and gave me no brushes. Please explain this because I spent 20 dollars x4 and I got no brushes.

      I can’t speak on their behalf but it shouldn’t even be possible to purchase a product more than once since it can be redownloaded at any time with the same account.
      I recommend contacting the vendor Gumroad on this issue since they will be able to track the process which I have no access to. Gumroad usually has a pretty efficient customer service but this being the weekend might mean different working hours for their team. I hope they can sort this out soon for you.

      Do you have any idea how unlikely I thought getting to this level on yt would be? Seriously I’m just here counting my blessings thinking about the year I made videos that nobody watched.

    Love your work man, but not really much of a tutorial when the video is sped up so much. Would really like to see what your doing, techniques the settings and pretty much your entire process. I’ve tried slowing down the video but i didn’t help much.

      The purpose of these is to go through visual problem solving related to each piece. As such I’ve changed the editing in my latest videos to slower pace but cut out tons of footage in between to make it easier for the eyes. When the footage is continuous I had to increase the speed to stay within reasonable length. Live and learn I guess.
