Deutz Toto, thank you very much for your reply. I am intrigued by all of the different starting methods of this era and previous tractors. All of them are beautiful examples of imagination and ingenuity. This looks to have been a very practical and long lived machine as evidenced by the fine lineup. Thank you for sharing and for your reply.
@@prairiecracker214 Many thanks to you for your interest! This Nordhorn 2015 gathering was very special indeed. Deutz was the featured brand that year. About 700 Deutz tractors if I remember well (please have a look at my other videos on the topic) and maybe the biggest line up of Deutz MTZ ever since they left the Cologne factory from 1927 to 1935! Three of them had consecutive serial numbers so those ones may have actually left the factory the same day of 1930! The overall production of the three Deutz MTZ models was about 1750 tractors. there were 24 of them in Nordhorn that day. My guestimate is that about 100 Deutz MTZ have been conserved up to now
Not exactly. He first disengaged a 220kg / 485lb flywheel from the crankshaft, then launched the flywheel and finally engaged the fast spinning flywheel back to the crankshaft.

@@rossbryan6102 Deutz was in direct competition with hot bulb engine manufacturers at that time! Deutz Toto ON AMERICAN TRACTORS THE ALTERNATIVE AGRICULTURAL FUEL WAS KEROSENE! BUT THIS HAD PROBLEMS AS THEY WERE STARTED AND WARMED UP ON GASOLINE, THEN THE GASOLENE WAS CUT OFF AND THEN THE ENGINE RAN ON KEROSENE! Those rubber blocks on wheels, you get that from the US Shermen tank belts ?
They do come from a tank indeed 😄
I checked with the owner: they come from a French tank AMX-30

Does the grey Deutz that is down the line represent the original factory paint? I also see green further down the line.
