one thing the video forgot to mention is corrosion protection. after drilling the holes be sure to spray rust inhibitor spray available at your auto parts store. bare metal and water is car cancers best friend.
Very true, even though the hood is aluminum corrosion can still be an issue. I actually did paint the edge with touch up when I was done but somehow that must have not made the final cut.
Hoods pins...I ended up installing them on my Mustang....because past 60mph the hood wobbles with the air in such way, it feels its gonna pop any minute!
If I were to install hood pins, which I will do to my sn95, I would put some type of heat string on the stainless steel cable so you won't rash up your hood. As you would imagine riding along would cause the cables to scratch your paint.
Nice video rotozip is best way to cut out notches in the plastic cover. I lined up my pin with front contour of hood each side I then seen in directions to run them straight across either way is ok as long as they match.
How would you attach the cover plates to a fiberglass hood? Not sure those screws would work? or is there a different set recommended for a fiberglass setup?
Hi, I'm french guy... I've jut bought hood pins to a private seller. But in the kit There's not support brackets for the pins as you show on the video... How can I fix the pins in that case?
I used to think they were stupid and useless, since I already have a good hood latch from the factory, until my hood smashed my front window while I was driving
Olympic Gaming I’m with you on this. I would do this if it were my old classic 64 Fairlane but I just can’t see myself drilling holes in the hood of my brand new Mustang! I would screw it up for sure! Lol
Im getting some for my 92 Camaro and i never let another person work on my car besides me and sometimes my dad when he insists on helping since he loves cars too but i think for this ill let the professionals do it i just don’t wanna take the risk of ruining it if it was a modern car i would not give a fuck about messing it up but a classic car is gold to me

Everything you said in the first 30 seconds just happened to my cousin. Lol now I'm looking for parts and knocking dents out of his roof
Yikes.. on a Mustang?
Can y'all do a video of functional hood pins for the SN95!?

@cjponyparts: Is there a way to prevent the hole from getting rusted? or the rubbering will do that?
They offer universal kits but these are designed to work on 05-09 only

can I found the same set but for a Mustang 2014?
I need the same.
When I last had hood pins on my Mustang they were what held down the hood. No factory latch. Same thing coming on my next one.

awesome product but only downside is that the lanyards rust after a few months
What does he use to remove the push pins in the very begining of the video? 1:29
R GEN Probaly should of said: what do you use*
R GEN It is just a hooked pick, they come in sets usually with straight, angled, hooked, etc
Bill Tumas Thank you for the reply. Looks like a handy tool and wanted to buy it. Thank you again for taking the time to hit me back up. -RGEN
I ordered these and got another kind of hood pins. I got everything except the plate and bushing.
Nice new look!!!
Beautiful clean job. Thanks!.

I installed this on my 01 bullitt and boy these hood pins adds more aggressiveness to the front end
can you install these in an after market duraflex hood?
akcream yes sir
MiguelJMurillo you were two years late on his comment so I’m 2 years late on yours :)
@@dohunkie So am I
Aside from looking cool, what purpose do these serve?
^ I would like to know also
@@YxngKingJ Just realized, he states the purpose right within the first minute. lol. I don't listen very well.
Bill Tumes Why screws instead of pop rivets?
Shawn Brush The kit includes stainless screws, by all means use rivets if you want.
Are the drill bits titanium?
Tough to get both holes the same distance from the edge
Eddie Jackson How do i order the hood pins?
I would use something more than just screw that could come out and fall out due to vibration.
Nice video, I purchase this for my 2006 Pontiac GTO.
I used to think they were stupid and useless, since I already have a good hood latch from the factory, until my hood smashed my front window while I was driving
What about for a sn95
What if my hood latch barely works at all
Fix it
what drill is that
max Faeq Dewalt 20volt Regular Drill
Anyone know if this would work on a 2010 gt?
Can I put these on my 2017
The kit is designed for the 05-09 only, the mounting locations are different on 15-17
Oh ok. Man I really want these on my mustang
ill let pros install this one lol
Olympic Gaming I’m with you on this. I would do this if it were my old classic 64 Fairlane but I just can’t see myself drilling holes in the hood of my brand new Mustang!
I would screw it up for sure! Lol
I want hood pins on my crown Vic
What is the price in Mexican pesos?
This looks as painful as it was to install my spoiler..... i need it tho with my. Ew fiberglass hood.....
Careful.. My L was stamped wrong on top,, so just make sure both sides angle outward.
Buy a custom hood with those holes already. If not, drill in your aftermarket hood.
Drake? Where ???
