Since purchasing my 2006 Stang last October, sir, your videos have helped me so much and recently, I replaced my rear lights with a pair of new ones, and I feel that your step by step tutorial with copious details and approach has been very helpful. BTW, your last vid on the orange Vette was awesome and now, my father wants to get a pony..lol.....Best wishes and will continue to watch your vids.....Jerry from Southern California.
Nice to see someone do the job of removal and install showing both right and left sides , not skipping ahead and fast forwarding of video, I am going to put the exact same light housing they did on this video, and I use HID aftermarket kits. Nice video thank you .
Boy that is the stupidest shit that you have to remove the front bumper just to remove the headlights. Was gonna sand and restore mine, but seems I'll just buy some smoked ones if Im going to go through this mess.
I would add put a lil bit of grease on the bolts...a smidge. And it would be a great time to upgrade the aux lights to LED. They really are much better and fairly cheap now. Thx for the vid!
My first experience doing headlights for a friend (rusty car). The bumper bolts in the wheel well would just spin. It was obvious enough, I could see them, but in Ford's infinite wisdom, they decided those need to be studs with a flat top that nothing will grip. This turns what should be a simple job into a nightmare. Honestly I personally hate these cars, well every make and model built after about 03. Same friend ended up paying almost 700$ to get a turn signal fixed(body control module) I'd say that turned me off of them as much as anything else. Switches and relays please. No computer controller for the headlights or turn signal please.
I have to do all that just take a head light out that a bummer I just wanted to make a headlight hole so I can get more air in the intake when I race then put the headlights back on but idk now that I have to take the bumper off
SO many of your videos have been incredibly beneficial to my 06 stang!! Thanks for all you do brother, really sincerely appreciate it!! Please keep ‘em coming! 👊🏾🙏🏾
Yes THANK YOU!!!!! Purchased a light kit for my wife's car for Christmas and watched other videos with crappy instructions until I saw this one. VERY informative about the dismantle and installation of the lights. Great job sir!!!!!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skill. I am sure it will take longer to me than it took you, but I will be able to do it because of your detailed explanation. Cheers.
This video was very helpful only thing I never thought to think about why there’s 400 thousand wires on my new headlights now i have to get someone else to do ir
Finished headlights installation Smoke Lens black and crome looks great .. Polished out the body silver paint aswell detailed polished GT wheels.car looks new again
YO THKS,IVE PERSONALLY KNOW THAT PROCESS THKS IVE DONE FORD MUSTANG MODS & STILL CURRENTLY ADDICTED TO MY STANG , THANK YOU FOR THE PROPER REFESHER IM DOING FT,REAR FOR A FRIEND. SO I HAVE TOO COME CORRECT. THANK AGAIN.
On my 2006 mustang GT changed all my exterior lights upgraded to LED, and high definition lights, took a about in total 3 days with runs back-and-forth to O’Reilly auto parts lightbulbs clips etc.
The only thing it looks like you forgot was the rubber gasket for the bulb housing. When you remove the old bulb housing there is a red gasket that seals the bulb and puts pressure on the housing as you twist it in the headlight. I just replaced my headlights and I noticed the bulb housing was very loose when installed. Looking at the old headlight I noticed the red gasket stayed with the headlight so I just removed it and put it in the new headlight housing. Now the bulb housing is a little more secure in place.
Just used this video and it's the best how to video I think I've ever used. Everything was perfect except for not mentioning to reuse the red spacer on the passenger side light. Thank you... minimal effort and saved hundreds I bet.
FYI , install the spacers onto bulb fixture, much easier than trying to fit into headlight. Without spacers bulb will most likely vibrate plus let moisture into fixtures.
Best video ever, my front bumper on my mustang is broken and right headlight is to along with my washer fluid reservoir I'm going to junk yard this weekend and hopefully I can get these parts I really liked this video. Thanks
I bought the Ford Mustang 2005-2009 Chrome Pair Headlights Headlamps Left+Right on eBay for $59. The black housing headlights are the stock headlights. You can search eBay for both. They are relatively inexpensive.
Whatever happened to be able to just pop out a headlight and put a new one in I mean geez these engineers are getting a little ridiculous now because I'm getting ready to do this on a 08 GT500 and it looks like a nightmare my 87 GT is 100 times easier
It not too bad. Screws on the side of bumpers and some clips. If you have the wash plate underneath the car, be sure to unclip it from the front bumper. Take your time and don’t get frustrated. Good luck.
The bulbs might be placed wrong in the headlight. Try removing the bulbs and reinserting them. There should be some wiggle room to adjust the bulb when putting it back. If that doesn’t work. You might have to remove the bumper and adjust the position of the light brackets (where the three screws hold the lights in place). Then test the lights to see if they are in the correct position.
Great video sir. Sir do you have a link to where you bought the headlights? And how are they holding up a year later? Do they still look new or do they have a yellow tint on them? Thank you sir!!

Are the brackets where the 10mm nuts are removed from part of the bumper or separate parts? Thanks

Local dealership wants several thousand dollars to replace headlights on my 2007 Mustang, plus keep it for several days with no loaner. I can do this!
Take the bumper off to change headlamps. 😬
This is why all the older Mustangs have oxidized lenses. 😂mine included.
Fantastic video. Didn’t even need to get halfway through it to finish the job, very informative and helpful
This would be a great time to also clean the a/c condenser. Also it's nice to see I'm not the only one who talks to himself when working on my car 😊
You didn't put the red seal back on the bulb before you installed the new lights.
Thanks for that info- that saved us because our bulbs were loose.

If anyone can help me what are the first 2 10mm screws called mine are rusted and broke (all 4, 2 on each side)
They are just bolts on a plate easily replaceable with ones from a salvage yard or I’m sure they make replacement

Anybody with some tips on how to take the bumper off?
We take the bumper off in this video.
Small drill with extension could zipped those off in no time then turn it to 1-2 to reinstall screws so won’t strip out. But great video
I can see doing so much work on a car 50 years ago, but 2005 car? I had a car where you had to take the tire off to change the battery
What about a 09 gt cs
Simple and easy tutorial! You are the best.
simple? are you nuts!
Thanks
Can I put whiter led lights to the headlights?
Most likely.
What about adjusting the headlights
There is an adjuster knob on the back of the light.
can you make one for 05-09 side markers. front and rear
Those pop right out, just need a flat head and wiggle it in the slot.
@@KingBattlonfront side markers are the turn signals and those do not pop out, only the rear markers pop out
Awesome.

How long does this actually take to do
Great video. 😊Nice color paint. Pls write back and tell me what color is your mustang on this video

My lights for my mustang 05 are pointed downward (i just bought it at auction) how can i adjust them?
The bulbs might be placed wrong in the headlight. Try removing the bulbs and reinserting them. There should be some wiggle room to adjust the bulb when putting it back. If that doesn’t work. You might have to remove the bumper and adjust the position of the light brackets (where the three screws hold the lights in place). Then test the lights to see if they are in the correct position.

It took about an hour and a half.
