Exactly. Maturity figure is calculated based on existing rate of interest and under the assumption that its going to remain the same. In reality no one can predict future interest rates. So it really doesn't make sense to extrapolate maturity figure. Having said that, SSY is Govt backed and whatever the maturity amount, it is guaranteed by GOI. You could use SSY as a part of debt component in your asset allocation.
