i was literally the guy who pointed it out on the stream and VR was like no it doesnt matter no ones gonna even notice that but I had such bad ocd back then that I wanted him to switch it haha holy throwback
D A M N ! By the way, have you heard the Dogma Resistance album by Riot? It tells a pretty cool story and I think storytelling would be an interesting tutorial! Also maybe some tutorials on basses like the first drop of Overkill from the Dogma Resistance. Edit: Yes Im a little crazy for RIOT.
Can you make a super basic tutorial on song composition/and structure for dubstep and riddim? I have a lot of ideas for songs in my head and I'm just not sure where to begin. Any tips or ideas are welcome
TRIBRVTE like I'll be working on a song and feel great and ideas flowing out, then the next few days feel completely apathetic towards my song and feel like everything sounds wrong and I'll convince myself that I just forgot how to make music, especially sound design. I've been having issues with sound design even though I've been using serum for like 3 years
@@glow3892 yo, check out syntorial. It's an interactive learning program. It ain't cheap but it's all about learning sound design and takes literally from the most basic all the way up to advance. It's nice cause it's not just a bunch of theory or like reading about it, it actually has you do it. And they have expansions for particular VST's, one of them being serum. Maybe it'll help you out
Good video, only thing that might confuse people is in the beginning it’s cents, not semitones. Cents are the partials of semitones. You changed the cents, not semitones of the vocal.
Was having such a crisis because I was struggling so hard with making dubstep (almost quit music at one point). This video actually helped me a lot, appreciate all your stuff!
You should use sends more man. Like when you duplicated the reverb in that effect rack, that would have been way easier with a send and you would get the same result, and not only that but you can then send any track you want to the same reverb rather than using tons of different reverb plugins. It helps keep the reverb sound consistent. Usually I’ll have 3 to 4 different verb sends with different length tails and depending on the sound I’ll send it to one of them and it helps everything fit better a lot easier. It also saves on ram cuz rather than having dozens of reverb & delay plugins you can have just a few. In drum rack I would use the sends within the drum rack cuz I find drums need a very specific type of reverb, but in build ups I’ll still often send my drum group to one of the main reverb sends
@Richard Catarino To each their own, unfortunate you feel that way. I think you're missing a lot of really good music out there, cause I agree when it doesn't line up it's bad but it's just people experimenting and trying new things. a lot of people make music that does line up with the rythm and it has a hypnotic flow that hits the soul. Cheers
i always curious how to make A Griddy SUB that sound Like "Krrrrrrrrtt" Tell me Please if someone know how to make it. i love that type sub like on VR - Wallmonger DRop..
@@elliottwennstrom4962 yep! Like how I sometimes use a saw instead of a sine, or even have osc B as a saw and FM from B as I see fit. (Sometimes even automate it)
@@elirainu Exactly, all about the experimentation! Changing the noise from regular white or pink noise to something more texture-y can also give some crazy results X)
Can you make a vid on how you make your racks. Id like to see the theory/plugins and try to translate it over to FL's patcher. Thank you for everything
This video was really sick and are always very helpful. I dont use ableton but i have the lite version because of a midi keyboard i bought. I use fl but most of the stuff you go over can be done in fl.
Do not sleep on Moonboy this guy drops SO much knowledge in his videos . Always inspired to make music after watching your videos
seconded bro this dude and GhostHack and lowkey Virtual Riot stay giving away the cheat codes to the dubstep game
For all you dubstep bois that remember the lunar stream
Virtual Riot: -11
Moonboy: +11
holy shit the reference
i was literally the guy who pointed it out on the stream and VR was like no it doesnt matter no ones gonna even notice that but I had such bad ocd back then that I wanted him to switch it haha holy throwback
this is so far back in my mind, anyone here wanna explain?
@@Terratype He was making a slide-y growl and he had the pitch bend set to -11 instead of a full octave
LMAO so true, *-ILLUMINATI CONFIRMED-*
Video is dope but VIP means 'Variation in production' and is when an artist remixes there own song. doesnt have to have the double build fake
Yes
Ohh, thank you. I always wondered what that meant
your definition is incorrect. a vip can be as simple as a kick change.
variation. in. production.
it is NOT synonymous with remix.
it CAN be a remix.
thanks for the info i didn't know that until now
Really fun how information means nothing when anyone with a copy of serum becomes a “tutor”
Brooo when that next Nasko livestream comingg. Now is the timee
sooon! I have a lot going on like building my studio but once its done Ill be able to!
This is awesome, most people ONLY focus on making the drop
That's called a fake out, not a VIP. A VIP is sort of like a part 2 or a new mix of a song that is yours.
Variation in Production
Yeah, I was like wtf when he said that. This must be so cringe if he rewatch this video.

dogma resistance is an album
lavacakes whoops, I'll fix that
@@user-qw4cp8wn5f It is an LP
one of my fav releases from riot cuz yeah, it tells a story
That's not what VIP means. It stands for Variance in Production and is just a fancy way of saying when an artist revisits or "remixes" their own song.
Yeah and they and they add a second build up to show that it's not the original song but it's the VIP version 😂 funny that moonboy didn't know that
'Mom, I want Virtual Riot!'
- 'We already got Virtual Riot at home.'
Virtual Riot at home:
@Sage Reed nice try bot, but ive seen this comment lots of times
I've already knowed about all the tricks, but remembering doesn't kill you...
That drop is the Covid-19
WOAHHHHH MAN, THATS A LITTLE CRAZYYYYYYYY WOOOOOOOOOWWWWWW
wait.. isn't a vip mix a remix that's made by the artist of the original song?
8:33 whoop dat trick gettem
Literally giving free money to us! Thank you Moonboy
I'm hoping to get into the production game and your tutorials are fantastic! Thank you for sharing!
Thx for the 20 gift card Moonboy! Sweet tips!! Cheers
0:07 im already interested just by hearing the first hit
Can you make a super basic tutorial on song composition/and structure for dubstep and riddim? I have a lot of ideas for songs in my head and I'm just not sure where to begin. Any tips or ideas are welcome
This video is so intense it made me sweat 😰
hello oversampled
I'm sort of going through a producer mid life crisis :(

Man those vocals could've been used in a Jersey club track
This crazy I was just saying how weak my builds sounded today
Another really good buildup tutorial is barely Alives tutorial on it, just search up how to make a buildup barely alive and it should show up
Fire fire fire this is dope
thanks for the cymatics stuff bro!!! fucking love you man @moonboy
DUBSTEP 🔥👽
Do how to sound like peekaboo or does the wook bass count idk someone tell me!
pls
do G-Rex too
He did. search for "Free Form Bass (producing with Moonboy)
use sine waves with ableton sinoid fold saturator and add erosion
Ayyyyyy Moonboys back with another banger!! Keep up the awesome videos dude!
Man you always dropping gems.
Can you do a video on your riddim style kick and snare and compression techniques if you have any.
*detune 25 cents not semi tones
thx
slightly triggered @1:10 25 semitones? cmonbruh :] still love moonboy
Throw y hands up if you widdit
Most generic cymatics sample XD
Pump ya fist in this shit
@Mark Donald i dont care either

Sik vid and also thanks Moonboy/cymatics for the freebies 🤙
Thank you 🖤🔥🎶🔥🖤
thank god for MOONBOY bringing back to us his MOON KNOWLEDGE! PAPA BLESS!
JUST ONE QUESTION. Is that vocal detuning effect a stock ableton plugin or is it a separate vst?
I didn’t know Riley Reid produce dubstep
Can you recreate this tutorial in FL Studio? I'm having trouble with automated pitch bends

Honestly you've got your own vibes but I'm feelin some Tsimba and!!
Bro, where did you learn synthesis. Like you are so good at it I don't understand. I am having a hard time learning it. @moonboy
The “That thing” he refers to @around 3:24 is unipolar vs bipolar envelope detection for all you terminology nerds out there

Wish I had a different DAW, making dubstep with maschine can be tricky and a lot more time consuming
Fuckin Dope!
those transients are wild, you should gain stage your samples...
How do u feel about excisions new song with illenium......
Detune it slightly by 25 simi tones? That’s 2 octaves my guy
You should make a video making a drop Kayzo style
Look at this duuude... Pretty cool, man💦💦💦

vip stand for. variety in production so remixing ur own song

Sine + Noise + A lot of distortion should get the basics down, after that it's really just experimentation with different filters and stuff :)

that is the cents parameter. not semitones.

When this song out ?
Thanks for the contente!!!!!
