    I have never in my life seen a whipped gather before. That is so cool!!!

    24 hours prior to seeing this video - I finished my third 18h century bonnet/cap! wish I had seen it sooner, would have helped me a lot!

    I love your whipped gathers method! By far looks the easiest way to do that I have seen. Although I've not tried any yet. LOL

      I do it a bit differently than others, but it works for me! You can totally do it!

    The see-through quality is so pretty! It looks like a little cloud that's about to float away - I really enjoyed watching you make it and learn something while doing so :)

    I see others praised it too and I must join them - the whipped gather is such a clever thing!
    The whole cap looks perfect, so light and subtle!
    Thanks for the video :)

    Loved seeing how your tiny stitches and seams turned out. I now know how to improve my methods for caps! ♥️

    The cap is something has eluded me forever...thanks for breaking it down! I was wondering what ratio you use to determine how long the ruffle should be compared to the band?

    • @WilloughbyRose
      @WilloughbyRose  4 роки тому +8

      Its a trade secret that I'll never share.
      (1.5-2 times the band depending on your preference. 😝 )

    Thank you so much for doing this video. I do so much better understanding things when there is a video and its perfect timing since i am working on a cap now. Also that whipped gather! Game changer.

      Excellent, I hope it proves useful! The whipped gather is my absolute favorite thing about caps because it makes a seemingly tedious task so super quickly. Good luck!

    Hello Cait! I'm so glad I found your channel through the CoCoVid, you're so good :D. I have a question about this cap fabric, is that a sheer linen? I don't think I ever saw this type of linen.

    • @WilloughbyRose
      @WilloughbyRose  4 роки тому +3

      This is cotton organdy! You can also use silk gauze or organza, starched cotton lawn, or linen.

    • @WilloughbyRose
      @WilloughbyRose  3 роки тому

      It was a cotton organdy remnant from Farmhouse fabrics
