I think Adora’s invitations for Catra to join her were genuine. I think their lack of communication is what split them apart and it would’ve happened eventually (considering Catra’s insecurities and Adora’s naïveté.)
Adora was easily swayed to the good side because she saw what The Horde was doing and realized that she couldn’t be a part of it. Catra on the other hand knew the whole time what they where doing and chose to stay despite everything. Adora couldn’t understand how Katra could be OK with The Horde destroying lives because she’s a more empathetic and selfless person, and all Catra’s motivations from the beginning where selfish.
To Adora, It wasn’t a question of friendship, but was a question of morality and how she can’t stay with The Horde. Catra doesn’t come with her so she hast to leave her for the time being and I don’t think she was wrong or cruel or a bad friend. They just need to talk and sort things out instead of fighting.
I believe considering the circumstances and the way Adora found out about the horde, she did the best she could. I don’t blame Adora at all. Catra is responsible for her own actions but I understand where she’s coming from. Thank you for laying out your points so concisely. (Besides Adora was captured and couldn’t return to The Horde to tell Catra what she discovered and that they should defect together, and then Catra rolled up in a tank and we all know how that went. These girls were never on the same page. 😂)

I think the thing that a lot of people miss is the traumabrain that Catra had, Shadow Weaver wasn't just mean to Catra, she threatened her life frequently. Catra saw Adora as her safe person until Adora left and shattered the system that Catra had developed. Catra saw Adora's offer as even worse, she saw it as an afterthought for the friend that didn't bother to go back and get her. She left on the whims of a couple strangers, from her perspective.
I'm not excusing it, but I really do empathize with her, I feel like I would have done similar in her situation.
Whether Adora's offers were genuine or not doesn't really matter that much from Catra's perspective.
Whats interesting though is how catra might feel when Adora suddenly realises the horde is bad, because 2 strangers told her. However she didn't realise they were bad when she constantly saw Catra being abused by shadow weaver. Like imagine growing up being abused like she was, because let's face it her abuse was much worse both physically and emotionally than adora's, but she doesn't even notice its bad or abuse.but she believes 2 strangers and decides to do something. Also adora had already left without catra to then ask catra to come as almost an afterthought is kinda harsh. Shadow weaver made it clear that catra was only around because adora likes her then adora left her behind then asked her to join after. I could image the thoughts of betrayal catra felt are partly justified and probably what persuaded her to stay and become strong without adora as she feels she has already been left
@@-saskie-5172 Technically, Shadow Weaver did that to put a wedge between them. Shadow Weaver knew Adora held power since infancy & wanted to harness it herself, so she gave Adora a martyr complex meanwhile treating her like the perfect golden child whilst simultaneously scapegoating & abusing Catra, saying that Catra only exists because of Adora's feelings for her & the moment Catra did anything to jeopardize Adora's future, the magicat was expendable and, for all intents & purposes, better off dead, even if Catradora being together quite literally saves the entire universe in the series finale.
It's not as though Adora was manipulative on purpose in Shadow Weaver's style. She just doesn't think about Catra as hard as you did.
Yeah, but, that's kind of a problem when you've spent basically your whole life being raised with someone, almost like a sister, and then you DON'T think about her very hard. I think Adora's ego is so high that she has no clue what she's put Catra through, intentionally or not.
@@TheFangirlWatches Most people don't think very hard or reflect much. The most common kind of callousness is that which comes from indifference and just not giving it thought. Adora's ordinariness in this respect contrasts with her extra-ordinariness in other ways.
Catra made Adora feel responsible for her and feeling guilty for SW's actions. In the end Adora finaly recognizes this. Catra didn't deserve her.
@@TheFangirlWatches I don't necessarily think adora ego is high I think its just that the only time she feels worth is when she is useful to someone she feels bieng valuable to others validates her existence she was also abused by shadow weaver just in a different way catra as a character needs to learn that what happened to her hasn't got anything to do with adora and adora isn't responsible for her actions.

I think it probably also hurt Catra that Adora only just realized the horde was evil right when she defected. Adora watched Catra be abused and tormented by the horde for her whole life. But she just realized they were evil when she found out they were abusing and tormenting strangers. If I were Catra, I probably would have felt like Adora believed that the horde's abuse was at the very least justified and not evil. So that probably was another reason why she was so upset.
Who's to say that's even true? Shadow Weaver may have abused Catra when Adora was out of earshot & unable to defend her friend. In the one instance where Adora does try to shield Catra, Shadow Weaver simply lifts Catra out from behind Adora with her dark shadow powers and basically drills it into Catra's head that Adora's the only reason the magicat's not lying dead in some Fright Zone gutter and impresses upon Adora that she's directly responsible for Catra's misbehaving actions and disrespectful attitude, so Adora has to keep Catra in line, almost as if Catra is nothing more than Adora's humanoid feline pet and has no value nor agency of her own.
I love she-ra and I totally relate to Catra, i’ve Never been a favourite to anyone other than my friends and have always ended up being replaced with someone better. It’s nice to see you and it actually makes the video somewhat easier to understand.
Oh no I hate that you've been through that! I have been replaced by pretty much every group of friends I had in school - no one "stuck" with me until I was in college (and even that was just a few people, with many MANY flakes in between!). The worst is when you have two different friends that replace you and end up BFFs with each other. 😭 I hope it gets better for you! I think you're great!

hm, i dunno if i agree with adora asking catra to come with her was an after thought. i think the first ep 2 parter adora didnt defect until she saw the hoard attack a civilian town, and i thought her asking catra there was very genuine.
so i ship them (im a big shipper i ship a lot of stuff) but their relationship atm seems sort of close to gamora and nebula from gotg2.
That's not a bad comparison! But, I read Adora as having defected at heart the minute she became She-Ra. She kind of told herself she would go back to the Horde, but it was more like a "I guess this is what I'm supposed to do" type of thing imo. She had already decided not to return before she invited Catra to join her, I think deciding while with Catra and inviting her from the start would have made a big difference too (even if Adora was pretending to just have that "ah-ha" moment and had decided before).
@@TheFangirlWatches I'm sorry that I only seeing and writing this now (you see, after the final season I have sort of hunger for She-ra content and your videos are so great, I even subscribed) , but I really always saw this as Adora decided to defect only AFTER she saw what Horde was doing, after she became She-ra she didn't actually had the reason to (she only dicided to go to Bright Moon 'cause she didn't know what was going on) and she "left" Catra in the Horde even before that. I really think she did everything she could to not separate herself from Catra, but Catra still refused and I really don't know what else Adora could do, which is why I LOVE final of season 3 , in which Adora learns that you can't help a person if that person doesn't except help and season 5 , in which Adora helps Catra when she sees, that Catra can and ready to change. But ofcourse Catra saw everything like you described and her (Catra's) mistake was that she concentrated on negativyti and wasn't able to see that Adora didn't have the intention to leave her (though she saw it in season five, again, love this season). I always loved both Catra and Adora (yeah, my favorite chacacters are main characters) and I think the story totally nailed them both (what I didn't expect was Catradora being canon though, but still makes sence) . Also, I don't anderstand people who judge other people by looks. That's so unpractical and unfare (besides, you look gorgeos (I hope I spelled that write)😊
@@boardtoonsguy Yeah, and then the whole thing were she continuously tried to convince Catra to join her, even so much as trying to explain her own motives, only to be ignored. Then later, Catra blames her own actions on Adora, which is not fair. Adora was also abused by Shadow Weaver, though more when it comes to high, unachievable expectations, and now she puts herself in dangerous situations, because she feels everything is her responsibility, and her fault. She never asked to be "special" and she often tried to use that to help her friend, Catra. She genuinely wanted to convince Catra to join her the moment she saw her. She couldn't have done it immediately after finding the sword, because then Bow and Glimmer showed up, and took her "hostage" then brought her to that little village where she experienced her first party and the two began to like her, when Catra showed up on a tank, and finally realized just what the Horde was actually doing, and that she couldn't go back, so once Catra showed up, she immediately tried to convince her to join the rebellion, to which, Catra declined. And this whole thing with Catra...just really weighs heavily on Adora. Adora is not a bad friend, nor is she a bad person, nor did she really wrong Catra, as these circumstances that caused this pain were out of her control, and she even gave Catra the option to join her from the beginning, and several times after that. Adora is just.....kinda naive....and a bit of a beefy dumbass with a heart of gold....or a Herbo. She is ultimately rather selfless, and does things, such as putting herself at risk, to protect others.

It's so funny how certain things stick in your head as a kid, I can remember going with my friend to visit a teacher the year after we moved from her class, and the teacher had to be reminded who I was. "OH, MEGAN! Right, right, right." 😐 Other than my Kindergarten teacher (I was close with her niece), no one remembered me five minutes after I walked away. 😂That's alright though, no one to bum money or shout outs from me now!

8:59 actually, i think Adora wasn't selfish, she was selfless in the way that she wanted to do what's right for the world and gave up on everything she had before, and that unfortunetly includes Catra (It doesn't mean that i think Catra doesn't matter enough, of course she does matter🥺 and it doesn't mean that i think Adora was right for leaving Catra). Adora really cared about doing what's right for the world and the greater good, but Catra only cared about Adora. As long as they stick together nothing really bad will happen, right? Adora was her number 1 priority, so when she left even if it was for the gReAtEr gOoD, Catra felt like she wasn't Adora's priority, and that hurts a lot. So basically, I think that Adora did care about Catra but she thought it's a sacrifice she had to make for the greater good, but the thing is that leaving people behind isn't a sacrifice that should be made so quickly, or even at all.

This is why I'm subscribed to you, I agree so much. Catra is so relatable to me. If you've always struggled to get a compliment or have your family drop you on the dime. You become Catra. I was a foster child, but I had a family before hand, and they just let me go at 12, and then none of the foster families ever loved me like their own children. So Catra is 100% relatable.
My two fave character's are CATRA & SHE-RA.

I really loved your analysis but antagonizing Adora doesn't sit right with me. I relate to Adora a lot and I feel like the abuse she went through is really glossed over (being a "gifted child" can lead to so many problems). I think we should blame the abuser for putting them against each other instead of the victims.

hmm, interesting feedback, thanks. It's funny because I get the opposite feedback too where people get upset if I don't give a movie summary or they pick things apart if I don't provide all my evidence before the "big reveal." I see every video like a story that needs to unfold or a term paper that needs to build up in specific ways. My favorite character in She Ra and the Princesses of power is Entrapta. I love how smart and bubbly she is and I especially love that she's confirmed to be an autistic person by the creators. Seriously, as an autistic woman, it feels so cathartic to see an autistic woman in the media.

I believe Catra is the most irredemable character not even in She-Ra, but in Animation in the last years. Even Hordak is more redemable, which is awesome. With Entrapta Hordak became almost as compassionate as Scorpia. He was so shaken after Entraptas "Betrayal"
Catra's Hatred and Affection towards Adora are genuine i think. She feels betrayed and after what Adora did to her there is no way that things will ever be okay again. Catra is the Hero of her own Story as all great Villains should be. Her quest for revenge even goes so far that she would destroy everything just to get Adora. I absolutely love Catra and she deserves everything good that happens to her.
Catra wasn't irredeemable. If she was, she would've stayed dead after Horde Prime killed her. But Adora's love for Catra & anger at Horde Prime for killing the magicat reawakened a vengeful She-Ra, who kicked Horde clone butt, retreated to the heroes' ship with a lifeless Catra in tow, exited the ship briefly to kick more Horde clone butt as they were attacking the ship during its takeoff, and used She-Ra's healing powers to, quite literally, resurrect Catra back to life. Catra still held on her issues of self-loathing, thinking everyone hated her for all that she did (and they would be justified doing so), but Adora tells Catra that she herself "never hated" Catra. So, when Adora tells Catra that if she wants, the heroes can leave her to her own devices & Catra wouldn't have to see Adora again, Catra finally understands that this may be her last chance at happiness with Adora, so she lets her guard down & pleads with Adora to stay with her in her moment of vulnerability as Entrapta works to detach Horde Prime's mind control chip & Catra's using what connection she has left to Horde Prime's hive mind to find out that Horde Prime's already hovering over Etheria & has sent his robotic drone troopers & Hordak clones down to quelch what remained of the Princess Alliance/Rebellion, forcing those who hadn't been chipped to retreat into hiding, meanwhile Horde Prime set up a huge blockade around the planet, prompting our heroes in space to rely on the magical invisibility of Melog, Catra's emotional support feline companion who can physically show Catra's true emotions, even if they're otherwise well hidden, through changing its fur color to match Catra's mood & even acting in ways that Catra would feel embarrassed to, such as affectionately headbutting & licking Adora's face, since headbutting & licking are how cats show affection & not only is Melog a magical feline creature, but Catra herself is a literal cat girl, so she has traits of a cat alongside the parts of her which make her more human than feline.

Well, Catra really messed it up this new season, so let’s see if she can make it up, but trying to destroy all of reality because Adora told her not to, is pretty bad.

Technically Catra was not Adora’s only friend. Yes she was her best friend however Adora was known to be social it was Catra Who only had one friend
Adora tried to be friend her fellow cadets, but it led to Catra hissing & lashing out, because Catra was more than likely told by Shadow Weaver that love is finite and that if Adora is friends with anybody else, Catra is worthless & is better off dead, more or less.

I love Catra. She my favorite character in She-Ra. You basically explain why I love her. Actually She-Ra is one of the few shows where I root for the villians to win and not the heros. When there a new episodes of She-Ra, I get excited to see Catra again and that’s it. I also got a plush cat just so I can name it Catra (well it full name is Catradora, since I ship the two and the plush cat is actually a rainbow unicat, so it fits both Catra and Adora. It’s also two different eyes like Catra).
Sounds like you have a Hermia complex. (yes, I made a reference to William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”)
My favourite character is Bow because he's really funny, sweet, loving, and he protects Glimmer and Adora.
If Adora had come back with Catra initially after the Thaymor attack & then TALKED 2 her about what she saw & who she met, she would’ve had a better chance of changing her mind. Discussing who’s the real enemy(s) & THEN saying ‘Let’s leave together! We’ve always been stronger together & I don’t want 2 do ANY of this without U!’

I really do hope Dreamworks flips the typical good guy/bad guy narrative and makes Adora understand that, even though she's the heroine of the series, she's not perfect and she did treat her friend pretty badly.

She witnessed her bestfriend be abused all this time, both physically and emotionally, and literally saw shadow weaver threaten to kill catra if she ever messed up adora's future, but never saw it as evil. In fact, she even blamed catra at some points because she was "disrespectful." But when she meets these new friends and see some strangers houses being burn down, now they are evil. Now I have to leave. She didnt even think about catra until she showed up. Idk about you, but I would be pretty hurt. Now you want me to drop everything to go with you, to follow you like a little puppy dog, like a sidekick, because it's what you want. You never asked what I wanted, you never wanted to stay with me. It's so much more than adora good and catra evil.
@@metalkitty2788 she (adora) grew up in that environment she probably thought that that type of abuse was normal and yeah it doesn't excuse it but remember adora was also abused albeit in a different way she was probably scared of standing up to her the same way catra was and when she found the sword and could turn into shera it gave her that confidence to defect and protect herself that's probably why plus when two children are in an abusive situation it isn't the responsibility of the other child to change or stop that catras abuse is not adora fault and catra needs to own up to that literally all of this happened because of shadow weaver it was shadow weavers decision to play favorate and put a rift between them so by suggesting that adora is the one to blame is not only harmful for people who've been in that situation and took themselves out of it but also shifting the blame from the real culprit and abuser

In the Mulan remake, the filmmakers are changing her surname from Fa to Hua from the original poem. What was the point of naming her Fa if it’s going to be Hua in the remake?
I honestly don't know. Maybe in the mid-90s when they started production they felt like Fa would be easier to pronounce.
It's the nuance to this which is why I kind of hope they don't redeem Catra by having her simply mend her relationship with Adora and pretend like everything's good now. Their relationship, even if Adora didn't understand why, *was incredibly toxic.* Yes I'll go there, *as toxic as their relationship with Shadow Weaver.*
Adora was completely oblivious to how much her very *existence* created Catra's inferiority complex. By the time she was aware of it, it was too late, and she was finally pushed around enough for trying to help Catra that she gave up and stopped trying.
The thing is by this point in the show, Adora *has said her apologies.* Even so, she reached out, and Catra slapped that hand away. "You drive them away, wildcat."
Catra would be a perfect friend. She is so awesome and if she is your friend she would never do something whats bad for her friends.
Except she doesn't know how treats her friends well, because she lashes out at everyone who cares about her. As non-binary shapeshifting chameleon Double Trouble told Catra in season 4: ~shifts into Catra herself~ DT Catra: "You try so hard to play the big, bad villain. But your heart has never been in it, has it?" Catra: "No, wait! What are you--? Stop!" DT Catra: "People have hurt you, haven't they?" ~DT shifts into Shadow Weaver~ "They didn't believe in you." ~DT shifts into Hordak~ "They didn't trust you." ~DT shifts into Adora, mock cupping her face in an affectionately teasing manner~ "Didn't need you. Left you." ~DT shifts back into their default form ~ "But have you ever stopped to think that, maybe, they're not the problem?" ~DT shifts into Scorpia (obviously echoing the real Scorpia's sentiment about Catra being "a bad friend" from earlier in season 3 after Catra betrayed Entrapta & sent the Geek Princess to Beast Island before threatening to do the same to Scorpia, finally causing Scorpia to leave Catra for good)~ "It's you. You drive them away, Wildcat." Catra: "Why are you doing this?" DT: "It's for your own good, darling. After all, we all know that this isn't what you really wanted." Catra: "You betrayed me?!" DT: "You knew how this worked. It's always best to choose the winning side." ~DT proceeds to tell Catra about how the Horde bots & soldiers were ambushed trying to take a defenseless Bright Moon, before telling her that everything she's ever worked for will be destroyed once the Rebellion's massive super weapon (the Heart of Etheria project) goes off & that they should be getting out of here before that ultimately happens~ "End scene." ~we linger on a crestfallen Catra, before we look at DT, who whips out a tracker pad & types a XD emoji to Queen Glimmer (Queen Glimmer had freed DT from their imprisonment in exchange for DT switching allegiances), before bemoaning how all of this performing they're doing has become "all too easy", even if it's what they enjoy doing the most (besides, sowing the seeds of chaos & malcontent, of course).
one of my favorite characters is definitely shadow weaver!!! her backstory and her “redemption” are fascinating to me!! i know she is only siding with the rebellion for selfish reasons, but i hope she truly is redeemed! but i would still love it if she remains an antagonist because she is an amazing villain!

I think they were raised in a setting very similar to a sisterhood, but more like sisters in a cult where they get brainwashed and abused. So, they're friends, but they were raised almost like sisters.

Yes, they were raised in the same toxic environment by an abusively manipulative surrogate mother figure, but that's the only familial connection they have. Catra romantically loved Adora, even when she was still a kitten and Adora was the golden child between the two of them, as evidenced by the flashback pinpointing Catra's jealousy towards Adora befriending fellow cadet Lonnie (the tomboy with the dreadlocks). So, when her#FavoritePerson (Adora) left her, it emotionally & psychologically damaged Catra. She was thankfully redeemed by season 5, whereby even the "Big Bad" definitive villain Horde Prime recognized the romantic tones the two had, always addressing them possessively as "YOUR Adora" & "YOUR Catra".

Catra’s body language is interesting which should be covered more. She’s a literal cat so her ear movements, tail movements and all that stuff. Her cat parts seem to be a bit more like dogs in terms of body language unless I’m just really bad with remembering cat body language.

I relate so much to Catra, the emotional abuse part, Mild physical abuse. I have issues that have sprouted because of that, inability to trust people, unable to tell people that I may have a serious injury. My small fears, like the dark? Have sprouted into deathly fear, all because I was never comforted, only yelled at. Being told emotions are a weakness and it’s hurt or be hurt. I do not allow myself to show body language because that’s where the truth lies. I have a super unhealthy coping system and that’s taking out my anger on others, mostly out of anxiety and being in an unhealthy mindset that every kind gesture is someone trying to manipulate me. I was taught that when I was 4. 4 years old. It was mostly my mother doing this and my father trying to comfort me. When I lash out at others, I don’t mean to hurt them. I don’t feel bad when I hurt them. I do what I am taught and It’s near impossible to change me. I am only 14 and yet I’ve nearly dug myself a hole. My only friend that I trust is transphobic and homophobic, if she knew I was non-binary she’d freak out. I feel loved by pets, nothing else. They are the only thing that keeps me even remotely stable.

I relate to Catra to much, my friend is the prettier one, the fitter one, and the more liked one. Even though I’m smarter ( im not being narcissistic I’m using labels I’m given) and even though I’m the artsy one, teachers don’t like me cause I’m talkitive, sencetive, big and I doodle on every paper. I’m the youngest of all my family, even in my cousins AND my distinctence cousins. I’m overprotective and I have anger issues. I’ve been bullied twice, one was a friend of my friend, but I said nothing. My sister can do nothing wrong and all I do is mess things wrong. I’ve been played and left before, in kindergarten and more. Catra has abandonment issues and all she’s been taught is love is weakness, she deapretly wants love, and sence Shadow Weaver is her motherly figure, she wants her love a lot, so even though Shawdow Weaver has abused her she still wants her love. Catra wants to prove to her that their equal, she wats to end She ra because she took away her friend.

Catra is actually my least favourite character in the show. But every word you said, the whole experience you described at the beginning is what I can relate to. Just like me growing up and even now.
I was so annoyed with Catra, there were those moments when I was so fed up with her character that I didn't want to watch the episode with her. And somewhere around these moments, somewhere in the middle of the series I think, I kind of realized what might be one of the reasons of me disliking Catra. I said to myself that you don't like Catra because she's just like you. And that's true. Catra represents the traits and behaviors I hate in myself, the esperiences of her that I experienced as well, her choices, her way of treating people. Of course metaphorically, I wasn't exactly like her, but some kind of allegory. And I analysed her character a lot so I got mad when I read comments where people were implifying that these who don't like Catra doesn't understand her, because I thought about her a lot, and when I didn't get something about her I read some other opinions etc. with which I did agree.
You made me realize more reasons of why I saw Catra in myself. I saw this being left out, treated differently than your friend or being forgotten. But you put it in words. And said some more examples.
But while watching your videos I thought of another reason of why I was so annoyed with her character. Almost after every episode I read comments and reactions to it. And I read so many comments supporting Catra, liking her character, shipping her with Adora, and hoping for a lot for her. And I was angry with these comments. Partly because I couldn't understand why they liked her while I couldn't, and thought that it's irrational. But now I think that I was annoyed that people liked the character who was like me. Catra represented issues I had and still she was noticed, liked, appreciated, and I wasn't. I felt misunderstood. That it's not fair. She's obviously a fictional character but you know... I was mad because it doesn't usually happen in real life. Or it happens to some. People like Catra are usually rejected after some time. And I didn't understand why people understood and liked Catra while I felt just like her. It's kind of like I felt betrayed. 😅 It's dumb I know. It's not that deep. But you know, these are just feeling and I can't help my feelings, I can control my actions but not feelings.
And later people got more annoyed with her, almost as annoyed as I was. When she was treating Scorpia even worse I was so angry at her. And I wanted Scorpia to leave. Because Catra caused her so much pain and didn't deserve her at the moment. I'd wanted to say that even people like Catra deserve redemption, love and friends. But when you behave like her people usually leave you. So I felt relieved when Scorpia abandoned her. Because it was more realistic. I'd be so frustrated if she didn't. Who wouldn't have lost their patience with someone treating you like Catra treated Scorpia, or behaving like Catra. Her character is absolutely understandable. And her psychological background is so wide and well made and I love it. And still she's one of the characters in She-Ra to whom I relate the most (the other are Entrapta (as #1) and Scorpia).
Of course probably her temperament, her way of being but more of the personality than life issues, weren't my type. But these 2 reasons: me realiting to her so much but not in the positive way and me kind of being jealous and annoyed with people liking, understanding and appreciating her redemption were probably the one that made me not liking her even more.
I'm not sure if I can say that I dislike her anymore. More like I do not like her, like I don't feel sympathy to her, she's not my favourite person, I wouldn't feel comfortable around her (at least not until I would feel comfortable with myself), so she's still the character that is not on my list of liked characters. But if I will watch She-Ra again I'd probably see her in a different light and I hope that I'd be easier (can I say it that way?) on her and myself.
It's so long so no one would read it but I'm glad at least that I let it out.
Well, if you can see yourself in Catra, maybe that's a good start to mending fences with your own feelings towards yourself & also learning to like Catra for being so multi-layered.

I don't agree with some things. Adora was never manipulative. She honestly tried to bring Catra with her. Yet Catra was used to being abused and manipulated and she didn't care about it as long as Adora stayed with her so they could rule the world together.
See, I got a very different impression. Catra was an after thought to Adora's leaving, and that's probably what hurt her most. It's hard to come back and plead sincerity when you're only making an offer AFTER being caught. Like when you randomly stop to visit you friend and their throwing a party that you didn't get invited to - they can't just say "oh, hey I really want you to stay and be at the party with me." Damage done, too late.

She went, and everything, those new things fell over her, if she would have left already with the intention of not coming back she would have told Catra. She is there discovering all those new things that make everything she lived for a lie, she couldn't go back, once she saw Catra she made sure she asked her to stay with her.
I totally think that Catra will one day join the rebellion. I am glad someone else thinks so!

I guess it would demand more work tough, and they just don't care enough to do it. And they have to do something about it because those people make noise, not because they care about them. Because if they cared, they would be more worried about the jobs of the "theorists" than with the fact that some people are "bothered".

scorpia is the best character for sure
At times I wish I was invisible. I was a target for many. During high school I literally taught myself to not show emotion because showing basic emotions got me targeted again (I got bullied for smiling. Literally). Of course I was also that person to stand up for others so while I would seldom fight for myself, I would fight for my friends. I got into so many literal punching fights it was amazing.
It taken me years to teach myself to not be so stoic and to open up more after high school. I'm still working on that.
Also that really fucking sucks. I love movie/series theories and I always looked forward to finding new channels who talked about the things I like. In fact, I hate news recommendations. I don't know if its just me but I prefer to read news articles than watch them. Most news videos that autoplay has some far-too-upbeat American wanker who sound like they're talking down to you (no offence to Americans, its just what I've noticed). I much prefer the ITV style of news reading; being mostly unbias but also showing a tiny bit of perkiness when needed (unlike the BBC news which is even more drab but I even prefer that to the auto play vids I always see). Besides, if I'm going to watch the news, I'd put the news on TV (which never happens but it does not bother me neither). I otherwise prefer to read.
For anybody interested, there's this great Chrome extension for blocking videos and key words. It isn't "Video blocker by Lemonrice" though that worked for a time for me (not sure if it still does). I can't find it right now as I'm not on my PC and thats the only one showing in search results but I will edit this comment when I return

Oh man, hearing you describe that, I think I did the same thing and never really noticed that I did it. I was the kid who didn't even go to lunch because I had no one to sit with and people told me I was fat even if I didn't eat anything, so I'd sit in the gym and read everyday - which only lead to occasionally being messed with.

@@TheFangirlWatches I didn't realise others did it honestly. But I knew I was doing it. I was completely aware of it and it was planned. (which is even sadder tbh).
And yeah that was the peak of it all. Feeling emotionally trapped like that is horrible and I actually broke down at one point. (putting that into context: I don't think I ever cried about anything the moment I left nappies)
This is something I absolutely fear for my own future children. I do not want them to develop depression in high school like I did.
On the upside though, when I left school my mentality was "well, if I can train myself to be emotionless... I can train myself to be confident". The experience was very shitty and child-me should have never have gone through it, but at the same time I look back at how much I have learned about myself and how my emotional state works. I can literally train myself to do anything if I put my mind to it. It'll take time, but it's do-able.
And yes its working. I don't think I've given less shits about other's opinions of me in my life.

Even the historians on Etheria are gay (Bow's dads Lance & George [the 2nd of them being the voice actor for 1985 original series Bow, by the way, hence the in-universe meta reference to the 1985 original during Bow's immersion in the D&D role play strategy planning episode]), so they'd welcome Catradora, Spintossa, Scorfuma, the polycule of Lonnie X Kyle X Roghelio & the threesome of Entrapta with both Right (main) Hordak & Wrong Hordak with open arms. Even the two "straight" ships, Glow & Seamista aren't heterosexual, because Glimmer is pan & Bow is bi meanwhile Sea Hawk is also bi & Mermista is accepting of her boyfriend having multiple exes.

I know that this video was made before the show finished it's run and so is missing some context and information that were filled in the later seasons, but I really disagree with the take of ,,Adora was a bad friend because she left Catra'' and especially that she didn't think to take her with her.
When Adora decided to leave the frightzone to look for the sword, she planned to come back, but as it usually is, not everything went up to plan, she got captured and was shown, how people live outside the horde and what the horde does, which she didn't know, because she was raised in a way, which never prompted her to doubt what the horde has been telling her. That became more apparent when Catra together with horde forces attacked the town she was in, the first thing she did when she saw Catra was something like ,,you must stop attacking this town, bla bla bla, they have been lying to us, the horde is evil'' - to which Cartra responded ,,Well duh, were you so naive to think that ?'', because unlike Adora, Catra never had any illusions about the horde, the way she was abused by shadow weaver ment she never developed any illusions about what the horde was doing. The main difference here was, that Adora unlike Catra bases her actions on her morals, which ment she could never go back to the horde after she saw what they did. Catra on the other hand, bases her actions on her emotions, as she said, it doesn't matter to her if the horde is evil or not, as long as her and Adora stay together everything will be alright.
Now, Adora offered her to join her and run away from the horde together with her, but Catra sees this differently - for her, staying together means staying in the horde and things being the way they were before. Adora's offer to stay with her ( or rather join her ) is seen by Catra as following Adora whatever she does. You say, that Adora didn't give a second thought to Catra when deciding to desert from the horde, but that is not really the case - sure, she didn't think of her when she was captured and shown the life of people outside of the horde - which you can't blame her for, her mind was most likely ocupied by many other thoughts that she got when her worldview was challanged and broken, but right after she saw Catra, she offered her to join her and I believe she would have returned to the horde for her if Catra didn't get to that town first.
Catra could have thought internally this is the case ( Adora leaving her without a thought ) and was even shown to somewhat think so when double trouble ,,figured out'' her character at the end of season 4, but in reality that was not the case.
Than after that, she had multiple options to leave the horde - if not with Adora, she could do so alone or with others ( for example Scorpia ), but she chose to not do so. In the end, only Catra is responsible for Catra's actions. It might not be her fault she acted the way she did, because there were many outside forces which shaped her responses, but in the end, she had all the power to change, but chose not to.
