These are things I discovered without the help of the exhaustive manual. I did read a lot of the manual but don't want to spend my lifetime studying it. For those of you who do, more power to ya.
Other parts are in the works like Priority and how to set it quickly etc.
If there are any errors (other than the ones noted), they weren't intended. Hope this helps in enjoying your great scanner.
Finally! Just started using an SDS200 and, without previous experience with digital scanners, its manual leaves a lot to be desired ( to put it nicely). I'm having to hunt down guides and tips like yours for help. Thank you!
a tip: you can watch series at Flixzone. Been using it for watching loads of movies recently.
Been scanning since the crystal days, updating as technology has changed. Always carried a portable on the job, retired now. I have 2 of these 436s, 2 HP 2s an HP 1, an HP536(the base equivalent to the 436), and 4 other hand-helds; all of Uniden's flagships.

Mostly aircraft, railroad, police, fire, EMS, etc. I may just find a local scanner here in Kalamazoo, MI.

I just purchased this Radio - and when i put in the Quick Keys and activate them -- i dont see them when its scanning -- on top in the F0/S0 boxes.... what could i be doing wrong??

Instead of having the back out of the menus just hit the avoid button once and it will take you right back to scanning

A 32 GB 48MB SanDisk chip is already in the scanner. If I install a 32 GB 90 MB SanDisk will I see any improvements? If So what would the improvements be?
very helpful video, could you help new people into scanning as to what to buy. I am told by a company I need a BCD396XT what is the difference between that a the BCD396HP?
I am looking to get one too I just got the Uniden BC125AT and it does not cover all the frequencies in Canada so I am looking to upgrade already let me know what you decide to go with and let me know and why thanks
Steve Bjerken The 396HP will let you hear Phase II P25, whereas the 396XT only handles Phase I.

Does anybody know how to adjust the squelch on the Uniden 436hp
Press the function key (top rubber button on left) then push down on the volume knob to set squelch. Then function again to exit.
How to get this thing off military time?? This is the most difficult scanner to understand some of the menus
for military time just subtract 12 and you have pm time. 17-12=5. or just subtract 2 from the one's place and disregard the 10.
436 has weak rf sensitivity on every band...
while the bcd436 is a great scanner far the best they made the FL quick key is dumb. they threw allot of people off with how to set it up.

Your ears have to become used to voices transmitted in digital mode. Being on DMR for a few years it is easy for me. It takes a bit.
