We have just released our brand new review of American Airlines economy here in 2024, same plane, same product different route and also a completely different experience 😳 Check it out now here - ua-cam.com/video/PFs3onxcABQ/v-deo.html
we just travelled with AA a couple of weeks ago, JFK to MIA, in business class (or first class they call it) large comfortable seats at the front of the cabin (around 4 or 5 rows I think) 2 seats each side, decent recline, foot rests and food and drink included. Was very comfortable for the 3 hour flight.
Usual bad London Weather? London has around 600 to 700 mm of rain a year. Try living in Bergen Norway, we have sometimes almost 3000 mm of rain a year.
Yeah that’s normally the case but if I’m honest, for economy, the food was decent enough. Never expect too much of it, especially from US carriers. Thanks for watching!
We are flying from Newcastle - Heathrow then from there to Newark in NYC, our flights were super expensive with it being half term in 2024. It will be our first international flight. We are flying with AA economy
@@aimeeandleetravel Looking forward to the big bird coming back. Btw I meant to ask, did you check your bags in all the way to Miami at Inverness or did you need to collect them again at Heathrow and check them in there? I have never done a connecting flight before.
@@calummc1000 if you booked the flights on the same ticket as a connection then you will have them checked-in all the way to Miami. In London you will have to swap from T5 to T3, it’s pretty simple but someone takes time due to extra security checks etc.
What do you think about these airlines? I have similar connection in January, but I'm starting in Berlin instead of Glasgow. Did you have any problems? Which airlines was batter? AA or BA?
I am sitting in terminal E in Miami on a 1st class ticket. It's like sitting in the Greyhound bus station....I imagine. NO where to plug the phone without sitting on the floor. The floor is filthy. The Gate agents announcements are so loud...some one should sue them.
@@kilaadams7354 nice one! Make sure to try and book the upstairs right at the back. It’s the best economy cabin on BA a380, 2-4-2 and the window seats have massive storage bins down the side!
Oh boy, just traveled back to Miami in AA39, same route, same bus to the tarmac, after calling group 3 the AA ground team just stopped calling groups and priority status went to the toilet. I was in seat 21C, right behind your row: a totally different miserable experience, specially with sciatica.
Sorry to hear about your bad experience. Boarding a wide body at somewhere like LHR just shouldn't be by bus! We have recently taken a flight in AA economy and our updated 2024 review will be on the channel in the next few days!
That is like 5 star eating right there! I'm taking my first European flight and was expecting them to not give us any food at all. I'm used to flying Spirit or Frontier and them treating you like a piece of trash. This is total luxury economy on this.
😂 you are correct the low cost carriers do normally treat you like trash but then again you get what you pay for most of the time. Long haul legacy carriers will always outdo the LCC
Thanks! No we were not offered noise cancelling, just standard in ear phones. I think noise cancelling is when you go up to business class or possibly premium eco.
Hi there! Quick question for ya, did your seat recline on the exit row seat of the main cabin economy? I ask because typically exit row seats do not recline.
Hey, yeah our seats did recline. I think it depends on the exit you are seated at but our seats on this flight did. We also took a flight on Cathay Pacific 777 (video on channel) and that was at an emergency exit too and the seats reclined on that plane aswell! Hope this helps
Thank you! We are flying from Dallas to Heathrow in two weeks on American 777-200 and have one of the middle exit row seats in main cabin extra. It’s my first international flight so I wanted to make sure those seats reclined :)
Any American Arline companies are completely lackluster compared to Lufthansa, Air France etc... and that is based on my experience, Unfortunately I'm flying with AA for a long haul flight to Europe 😞
Not the best in the world but not bad either. We were able to get some sleep just on the seat itself, the adjustable headrest was very helpful. Maybe check our 2024 AA economy review to see what the seats like this year! Thanks for watching 😃
Is that food any worse than BA or Virgin on the same route? I've flown all three airlines and I've not found a massive difference, to be honest. Virgin's presentation is great but I find their food tries to be too fancy (which it isn't, in Economy at least). I've also flown Lufthansa and Aer Lingus across the pond recently, and while I know these airlines aren't particularly known for amazing service, neither could touch the food or service of BA, VS or AA. American's international economy is 'pretty decent' as you said, with very good IFE and a comfy seat. That's about what I hope for these days, although not having a window would drive me crazy...I'd trade legroom for a window but that's me.
Not flown all the airlines you mention so couldn’t comment. BA from MIA - LHR food was decent and probably slightly better than AA but all much and such the same. Yeah the window was annoying 🤣
Virgin Atlantic's main meal tastes nice but it's a lot less substantial than what American and BA provide - they just provide the main meal and a snack - no salad, bread roll, dessert, etc. as with the Oneworld carriers. From what I've seen, the same is true for United.
Cracking review mate. I always find it weird how bad US carrier food is, especially as I love American food. But you're looked okay. Love the exit row seats, the only problem for me is them being a bit too narrow. Cheers for sharing your flight with us!
Food was fine, as I said I always keep my expectations very low on US carriers so this was okay. BA on the way home was much better and would even go as far as saying I really enjoyed it!
Great review! Doing my first flight since 2011 this fall, probably with AA from London to Los Angeles, and then from Las Vegas back to London(Then british airways home to Sweden). Hope I survive the long haul in economy haha! However I'm booking via British airways site, do you think that will be more troublesome than booking from AA's site(Like if there is any trouble with the flight and I need to contact them)?
Thanks for watching! If you book through BA it is no different than booking direct with AA, you’ll even get a AA booking code so you can check and deal with your flights on the AA app/website

Hi, thanks for watching! I am 5’11” and in the standard seats it was getting difficult after about 8/9 hours as the legroom isn’t massive. As a tall person, for a whole 16hrs I would really be trying for the extra leg room or even up to premium economy depending on prices!
