I really liked the graphics you showed to explain how the stress, trauma, harm, consequences all feed from each other. I now have a clearer understanding of how trauma plays into the transformation process from death and possession towards becoming a ghost, hull or vampire.
I appreciate the effort that went into this. For future How-Tos, please keep in mind that explaining an unfamiliar system by referencing a completely independent and also unfamiliar system is not the most helpful approach. This really needs to be a stand-alone explanation.
Yes I've had that feedback many many times in the comments. Some people find the comparisons useful (and I made the series for friends who were familiar with all these games originally) but most seem to not.
Best how to tabletop rpg video ive ever seen. You have another sub my friend. I dont even own the book yet and I feel like I know the system in and out lol Thanks man.
Been running a monthly BiTD game since the start of the year and this series is fantastic for refreshing and correcting me on some of the system. Thank you for doing it. BiTD is a fantastic system esp. regarding Stress, Duskvol is a wonderful setting and the book is great BUT... I have a unnecessarily large annoyance with the fact that the actual stress and trauma tracker shown isn't copy/pasted from the character sheet into the rulebook as you show it at at 3:20 And the rulebook doesn't directly mention anywhere I can find in the early Stress and Truma chapter that almost every character starts with 9 stress boxes. Obviously it's on the character sheet, but there isn't a generic one in the book. And it's only indirectly mentioned under the Hound's "Survivor" ability on page 67. (Which also states that the maximum you can increase Stress tracker to is 12) FiTD game Court of Blades does the same with pretty much identical wording. I know John Harper has a reputation for designing the playsheet first and writing the game around it but I first mistook it for having 8 stress boxes and I've seen others think you had 12 boxes of stress as misreading the Truma tracker as being part of the Stress tracker. It's ultimately a very small niggle that is fixed by just looking at the character sheet, but it's a very simple and important thing to add to the text.
You switch characters if your character is taken out of play by trauma. Also the PCs have a lot of ways to get advantage in the game so that's not necessarily how it plays out in my experience.
no you need one character and the moment you char would dier retire in another game you can here decide to have him sit out in a sanatorium or something and play a new guy for a session before you can choose to bring him back
The PC TErmination flowchart was pure gold. I love stuff like that!

Great! I'm glad having it all laid out helped! I use all these videos for my own prep as well :)
I'm so glad you're putting all this great stuff out there!
Jordan Kolbeck I'm glad to hear that!

You're very welcome!
Just bought the book but it won't arrive until tomorrow. This is helping to drill it into my brain ahead of time!
I am enjoying this game tremendously. Thanks for another, more comprehensive understanding (video) to help me and the other players at my table.
Awesome! I'm glad you're having a good time with game and that the video helped out!
Running my first game on Wednesday, and this series has been a huge help. Thank you!
Hey thanks! Good luck with your game!

Very good point! If there's a revised edition I hope they include that!
incredibly useful
Wait.
Trauma means you don't get to play anymore. Potentially for weeks
And it certainly seems like characters will die eventually. No ifs

So you always need more then one character?
It's hard enough to have one good character
