Absolutely! My husband was special ops in the AF for 26 years and has now been retired from the military for 8 years. Things were going downhill then and that played a big part in why he went ahead and retired. After spending our whole marriage up to that point feeling like a single mom (of 4 kids) three quarters of the time due to him being deployed so frequently it was such a relief when he got out. ..but was also a bit scary at the time and it took some adjusting to get used to no longer being active duty...for both him as the military member and for our family. I wish you all well. Does he have employment lined up already? Is he in a field that will make it easy to find a good job/career?
