If battery technology was more advanced 30 years ago I think this thing would have been a much bigger hit. Such a cool idea, play the same games you can play on your TV on the go. Really ahead of it's time.
I’m always amazed by your work, and every week I’m looking forward to watching your videos. It’s really impressive and I’m really admirative of your skills!
I literally had a very similar situation with a turbo express I bought. I should share pics with you, was a total nightmare. Good thing the express is quite resilient.
that region free board is pretty handy, but i wish they made it so it saves the region it was on. And only switches when you press Select and powering on.
That screen looks beautiful and makes my original TurboExpress screen look like a postage stamp. Should I send in to mod for that screen? Original is so solid but small. Ugh tough choice.
@@LIRetroGaming no worries, thank you for sharing! Would have been helpful to know this existed, I sourced a used one for $15. Great video I appreciate all the info
I'd hope they'd let you flip the default for the region free hucard reader. Having it default to a PCE over TE in a TE shell could be confusing down the line, especially if the TE was inherited and the information to hold the select isn't known. The new owner could consider it broken and toss it.
if you make the jump to always boot in turbo express, if you turn it on by holding the select it will change to PC engine gt or when you make the jump it is permanent only in turbo express?

Definitely. Light years ahead of the Gameboy DMG.
Yes, I agree. This thing is very futuristic for its time and the engineers at NEC really accomplished something specula
Nothing makes me happier than seeing a "Fix It Friday" video! Another great video about a console I dream of owning!
Thanks so much, really glad that you enjoy a Videos and I’m gonna try to have them out on a more regular basis

I really appreciate that and I’m glad you enjoy the videos! I should have some more interesting stuff coming soon!

Glad you got yours working! You can send me pictures at my website

There’s a newer version which will let you default to a desired region like you suggested. Should be available soon!
I totally geeked out over this. Great video!
Thanks! Really glad you enjoyed it
Excellent work!
How noticeable is the improved battery life with the new screen?
That screen looks beautiful and makes my original TurboExpress screen look like a postage stamp. Should I send in to mod for that screen? Original is so solid but small. Ugh tough choice.
Totally understandable. It’s a really difficult choice but I can always take care of this for you if you decide to go for it
Great video as always! It's great seeing another dead console brought back.
This really was a tough one to resurrect, and I almost gave up a few times. Glad to see it back so that people can enjoy it
I'm glad that you didn't give up. These are neat little consoles.
Where did you get the flex connector from? Can you give me a link of the part you used?
The flex connector came from kytor industries and the link should be in the description
You mention GT studios for a Huecard, do you happen to have a link?
Sorry I forgot to post it but here it is jt-studios.com/product/38pin-pc-engine-connector/

Nice work!
Thanks so much for making this! Outstanding product!
Great work, as always. :)

It might be possible to do that and I could understand why you would want it to default to turbo express mode if it’s being installed in that console
That is the plan for the full release. This region free mod is not yet officially released.
Amazing. Do you prefer this or the Nomad?
Very difficult question. Maybe the nomad only because the library of games is so gigantic, but it’s a really tough call

No, if you close that jumper than it only boots in turbo express mood. It will never switch over to PC engine mode
@@LIRetroGaming i see! Thank you
You sound like Lukemorse1 but a little more high and sped up
“Back again Luke here!” He is one of my favorite channels to watch
