I love older gospel music because it puts much closer to the Lord. I can feel the Lord's love all day and night.
I have always admired Kris his music and Religious Beliefs. Why Me Lord was always a song I knew but never truly understood. Until, I went thru an experience that I would never wish on another person. I didn't find Jesus. Jesus found me. I wasn't praying or asking Jesus for help. But, somehow he had found me and I had a Spiritual and Soulful awakening. He removed me from the Hell I is was in. Jesus placed me back into the arms of the ones who truly Love me. Now that I have Jesus in my Heart I will never let him go. I will never stray from his grace and Love

Thanks for sharing your testimony. Our lives are strengthened through hearing others and our testimonies are also strengthened. I remember going to my lady friends bedroom with tears the first night. It was the next night that there weren't any tears but something I could not deny nor tell anyone less they think that I was crazy. He's always with me. Peace be with us. Brothers in Christ Jesus.
I was able to discuss this song with him. My uncle played in Dottie West 's band for many years. I had an awakening that saved my life as well. Grateful to have the Lord by my side each day. Blessings be yours. 💙🙏

This was My Daddy's favorite song! I miss hearing him sing it as he played the guitar.... His Old 1938 Gibson Flattop ... It was so beautiful to hear and see!!! It's like when he started to play and sing... Something took over and WOW! All I can say is .... WOW! Thank You Jesus for giving me a Wonderful Daddy! And Momma! Thank you Kris Kristofferson for your testimony, I was a drug dealer, I was violent, said I didn't believe in God , and had a little grandma that prayed for me and I wound up accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior in 1980 and have been drug free now 43 years and the Lord took that violent temper. Now I minister to guys in jail and try to get them to Jesus and He will do the changing.

The first time I heard Why Me Lord was a couple years ago. Mr. Travis Tritt song it at Mr. Jones memorial Service. I downloaded the song and still to this day listen and sing along to it daily. It helped me through a tough time in my life and lifts me even higher when I'm sailing in smooth waters. It's amazing how the Lord works. Jesus touching your soul led to Why Me Lord in turn has helped me have a closer walk with The Lord. Now I have heard your testimony behind the song it means that much more to me. I first heard this song on a cassette that I bought in a garage on the M3 on my way to visit a friend who sadly crossed the line and ended in prison on the Isle of Wight. The cassette was for my pal who loved country music and I was familiar with K K. On hearing "Why me Lord" the hairs on my neck stood on end when I heard the female voice toward the end of the song. Having given my pal the cassette, on my return to home I searched and found that the woman on the track was Phobe Snow who so sadly is no longer with us in person, but lives on every time I hear or play this track the hairs on my neck are standing up as I write this. I remember having a Saturday night house party at some friends who worked together in Ontario, Canada, in the winter of 1981. We sang a number of songs but this was an absolute favourite. I loved this song forever , and the writer kris Kristofferson is the absolute best writer in music , he didnt have the strongest voice i guess thats why other artistist sang what he wrote . But when he sang this song , THIS song , i dont know why but nobody can sing it like he does , others have but its his song , not sure why but as long as kris is with us , nobody can remake it and make it theres .
