Thanks for the deepdive into how it actually works. My luggage handle became stuck, this video helped show how the mechanism works. Unfortunately on my suitcase the pin retraction works completely fine, it's just jammed stuck somehow even while the pin isn't obstructed. I have a feeling something must be bent

What do you call the little plastic part at the end of the rod that pushes the inside parts?
I would like to see a Tumi carry-on diagram circa 2018; it is very different. I have 2 generations of Tumi carry-ons. the older is much sturdier and still intact (but VERY heavy- the shell weighs as much as the contents). The newer one, much much lighter, seems less thought-through. The handle system relies on plastic connections -that I guess have a shorter life span -and mine fell apart. I ended up with a full handle in my hands after retrieving from baggage claim!!
I would say we are all learning from the technology, engineer, and science that everybody is intested in now adays. We learn from each other.

I have bought a suitcase it was £10 instead of £50 due to broken handle gonna try and fix it..only one side is broken... hopefully i can get either parts or a totally new handle and try to fit...😊

Thank you for the great video. We don't understand why the pins at the bottom don't retract back in so that we can telescope the handle down into the suitcase. If we push the two pins, it will retract, but it is not doing it automatically with the button on the handle.
how can i make a replica of this so that i can 3D print it?
It seems like my pin is all the way back in but the telescopic handle still won't budge. Any suggestions? Does anything else besides the pin keep it from going back down? It's only the lower part that isn't working.
