This brings a ☺ to my face! My very first concert and this group along with James Brown, and his Band , Joe Tex, and the Iceman! Mr. Jerry Butler, put on one show stomping performance.
I saw this group as one of the openers for -- wait for this -- the Rolling Stones! I think this was '66 or '67, before they even made this great song. They were unbelievable, but were only slightly outperformed by the OTHER opening act -- Patti La Belle and the Blue Bells! OMG, the voices! Oh yeah ... the Rolling Stones played too. But all my memories are of the 'openers'.
