R160B Siemens N Train Action... in 2024

  • R160B's 8988-8992 and 9023-9027 from the Jamaica yard were loaned for N train service during the PM Rush Hour due to a shortage of train cars in the Coney Island yard. R160B's, especially Siemens propulsion sets, have not been commonplace on the N train since 2021, making this a nostalgic and interesting sight to see.

I’d feel sick on that turn, the way you go on and lean and go down, and with suspension included

This should be a thing again during the AM rush hours, you know like the R train that goes to 96th Street and turns into a Q train back to Coney Island. Well I've been thinking that at around 7:45 AM, one R train goes from Forest Hills to Coney Island via the N line, at Coney Island, that same train turns into an N train and does one round trip on the N line from Coney Island to Astoria and back and upon completion, the train goes out of service at Stillwell Avenue and deadheads to Coney Island Yard and then during the PM rush hour, that train joins its fellow R train put ins and reenters service at 36th Street-4th Avenue. What do you think of that?
NOTE: You don't have to agree with me if you don't want to, I'll respect your opinion. But this is just my idea.

This could probably be useful instead of having those put-ins from 86 St/CIYD but… we could only dream that to happen 😅

      (R) doesn’t go to Coney unless a special reroute occurs though….
But likely I agree AM Peak to have (R) be taking you up there, like a speciality morning run, would be useful, considering all it does is stay underground 😂

They should return the R46 F trains I’m not a big fan of always taking R160As they even mixed both Siemens and Alstom up

Signaling aspects have been changed. R46’s, even if third rail, can’t run the (F) now, because driving with 600v+ third rail electricity isn’t the issue, but alerted and cab signaling aspects come into play with annoyance.

@@AmirTheAuthenticCommuter oh wait if that happens does that mean A/C is R160 and the F could return back to R46 but also gain 179 and 211??

@@AnimationMan356 Only GOH wise for the 46s. But the 211s would only appear when a majority of them retire out of Coney Island
