@@FriendlyHermitFun fact: Pokemon Conquest actually _would_ have been the official Fire Emblem x Pokemon game... But Tokyo Mirage Sessions, the Fire Emblem x _Persona_ ,was already in development at the time it was suggested. Thus, they chose Nobunaga's Ambition as the crossover, thus forging Conquest-- my _favorite_ spinoff besides PMD.
@@dextertek9536 Ho, man... what a let down. An official crossover would be CHERISHED by fans of both series. Maybe it would be seen as niche, but I dunno. Pokémon is so huge on its own, I doubt they'd ignore a tactical RPG just because it wasn't mainline. And, I for one, thhink Fire Emblem's gameplay just fits the Pokémon universe so perfectly. Both use rock/paper/scisors to determine damage, both are turn-based, and both require management of items, skills and resources to be as effective as possible in combat. But what do I know? I'm clearly biased

I read a different story.
Intelligence System wanted a crossover, the first series they wanted was Pokemon, but due to Conquest, they were given SMT instead. I only played a few hours of SMT IV so I was also looking forward. Only to be disappointed its more akin to Persona. I liked playing FeMC on 3, but I was more interested with the Order vs Chaos route.
Irony is FE3H was the SMT game TMS should have been for me.
Maybe in the next future we do get an official FExPokemon.
It's more like Final Fantasy Tactics than Fire Emblem, but both are tactical RPGs so close enough I guess.
Fun bonus mode. Name yourself after a gym leader or elite 4 and you get to play with their team and that team only. Think theres also one or two other bonus names but i can’t remember

Staryu having low speed is so surreal to me, those things in regular Pokemon are fast af.
Randomised stats turned Staryu into an Aggron lol

I've said this 1000 times over the course of my life, ha ha 🤣 So many great examples that fans and indy devs did better. But, yeah, Friend! This should just be an official game.

@@alistermanase2581 I approve of that story-line, too! Maybe that's why Blue is such a jerk to Red, because his father was gone, and Red's dad couldn't save him...
@@FriendlyHermit That or Red's father died in the final days of the war fighting Johto's five strongest on his own to stall for time or something. That or a third party interfered like Giratina or some other powerful Ghost type drawn to the warzone by all the souls of the dead and was wreaking havoc on both sides resulting in his father dying to push it back. Thus shaping young Red in to the quiet loner he is and Blue being Blue thinks the best way to stop that is be a annoying prick in an attempt to get Red to show emotion again.

I think those numbers on the pokemon data are the original growths of the pokemon and the green and red numbers next to them were how far off they were after being randomized? Cuz I saw that Staryu had a 5 growth in speed when you were selecting, and the stat page showed 70-65

It plays mechanically like both games. Your Staryu is built like a Paladin or armored character with low skill and speed but high dps/def
So he can carry you much of the game but don’t sleep on high skill and speed characters

Starters are only randomized if you're playing a randomized run! And you can randomize all sorts of things, from monster encounters to stats and attacks!

@@AllMinty I don't see why not. If your emulator plays roms, this is just a rom after the original file is patched. It's no different than Fire Emblem, it's just a different game, you know?

Great question! I can confirm: Not only is the Kanto region complete (you can battle the Elite Four and become champion!), but there's also some endgame challenges you can take on... no spoilers! 😉

I hate to be that guy but Blue Oak is NOT Gary Oak because in Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal and Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver when he is the gym leader of Viridian when you battle him it said Blue not Gary but Blue as his canon game he even know as Blue in Pokemon Let's Go and Pokemon Masters EX so yeah once again Gary is only in Anime Pokemon and not in games
You're not wrong! But in the original Red version on Gameboy, one of the default names for your rival was "Gary"! And, not that I'm thinking of it... you could default name your character Gary in Blue Version... I THINK. Don't quote me. Vague memory.
@@FriendlyHermit Well to be fair that was Gen 1 which i don't think he had a canon name at the time as all i know he was named Blue Gen 2 and onward like in the original Gold and Silver even Crystal which i had not played but i seen his name was Blue as the Gym leader. also i did not mean to do the outburst or whatever it's just that Gary is the anime counterpart of Blue like how Ash is the anime counter part of Red, well even in Fire Red and Leaf Green Blue's name is nothing by default by just being a remake of red and what not

@@FriendlyHermit Maybe? since for Yellow i only played it's Switch remake which is Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, i honestly i have no knowledge with Gen 1 and 2 just only from what i read about Blue in gen 2 but in the end as much i don't like Seeing Blue being called Gary for my own reasons nothing can be done about it so i will just have to deal with it when i do try out that rom hack
