I have a Undergraduate in Advance Ou/DPP Ubers, Gen 5 Ou/Ubers because of BKC. I may not play Showdown but I do use it to my advantage when playing thru the games stories. Thank you Cowboy BKC, we'll russel up more algorithm cattle for the channels herd.
Scizor was top usage in Black and White for a while too. I remember it reaching 33% play rate and, while I can't confirm if it was all consecutive or not, but over a period of two years, I rarely, if ever saw a pokemon that wasn't Scizor as rank 1
Steel types in general are very easy to build a team around in-game. Start out with one of the Steel types in the region and add members to cover its weakensses.

Maybe i came into dp ou too late, but i find it so hard to envision scizor as that good. Anytime the enemy team uses one i can set up spikes with skarm, anytime i use one it's forced out by most any fire types. Idk, Scizor's certainly no Breloom
I know you have separate video on Mence but do you think Scizor would return to #1 if mence was unbanned? I see people advocating for a mence unban sometimes and I kinda cringe thinking back to this meta.
Scizor is probably my #1 pick of Smogon tiering working backwards(a mon lock in OU thats fine in lower) in part since its unambuguoudly good. Its iirc OU until gen 8 but it arguably could be UU and below even in its prime on gen 4. The mons good but the kit is kinda placed in such a way where its not particularly hard to diminish its power. Like Arcanine and Moltres is a top mon in dpp UU iirc? Also i though it was upper 40% at one point somehow lol.

This is not true at all. Resisting draco meteors and not caring about toxic are already really good defensive traits. Try running a heavily spdef invested Sciz.

Because Scizor is less used now I always get surprised taking 70 percent from neutral U turn and then getting swept by bullet punch

god I remember the old days of gen 4. I would run scarf scizor to pursuit the azelfs starmies and gengars everywhere

I wish the bug/steel type was better, it doesn't really offer much in term of resistance that matter in dpp ou except for dragon and immunity to toxic
Weird comment. 9 resistances and an immunity with only 1 weakness is a great type combination.
