The pedal inputs were changed from an on/off style, to a trigger style so the dd75 kick pedal can be velocity sensitive. You can attach a yamaha kp-65 trigger with an actual kick pedal to it.
That’s actually how the bass pad works on the Yamaha DD models. You have to step on it while on the floor. It actually doesn’t work by pressing it while holding it.
Good question tmk. There are no USB ports on the old Yamaha DD50s. It has a quarter inch jack output that I plug into a Roland amplifier. I'll take a look and see if it has anything else, but that is the output I have always used.
.... drum button pedal is PIEZO controller ... so yeah, it only works if you actually stamp on it (or drop it!), not just press it....🍻🙌

Can this be ran thru a PA, via the headphones + adapter?
@kileloftis Take phone/audio outs -> PA. Note, you can also run in AUX IN, say, like your iPhone to mix in to the output.... 🍻👍
@@theaudioeng @eyesolatedrock thanks. I did purchase one and am debating on buying a different pedal. My jury is still out on it.
No brainer... get the Yam alternative eDrum Pedal & eHi-Hat proper pedals.... light vs. day tbh. 😎👍🎵💥🍻
Try actually stepping on the pedal.
I think you.ve played long enough and are pretty good. Time to move on from the beginner garbage
How does it compare to the Alesis Compactkit 7/Medoli DD 315 which has USB MIDI Out?
Sorry Carsten. I have never tried the Alesis, so I cannot make a fair comparison.
Does the DD50 have USB MIDI or does it use those older MIDI outputs?

It has the midi input and output jacks in the back. No USB

Short answer is yes…
Yes. It has a quarter inch jack.
@@ironfaith53 thanks. Bought one, love it, but like the review said, the pedal is less than up to my expectations.
Just get better pedals. Those are junk anyway.
