    I cried watching this because I know exactly what you went through. When I went on vacation in December I honestly thought I would be ok by then but of course I wasn’t. I don’t know how many times I wanted to just disappear to avoid being seen. Stay positive because I believe the worst is behind you. Healing is coming your way I feel it. 💜💜

    Hey Zainab! Thank you for your update! I am, like you, a Tsw sufferer and I am just 4 months "ahead" of you. I find your videos are very helpful and well done. Your attitude is exactly like it should be and I am very happy for you that you are this way. One day at a time, we will get to our final destination (destination smooth skin 😉). Enjoy your month!!xx

    I’m just now founding your videos! My son has TSW and he’s only 1. I used Topical steroids for 2 days and after doing my research I stopped and started using natural products and his eczema seemed to be “gone” but he had another flare. Now, he has TSW and these videos are really helping my research and me understanding what he’s going through because he can’t talk. And this makes me feel seen. Thank you for sharing!

    Now you know about that type of weather.
    Glad you're doing ok, but I think you need to fight to keep moving and looking at your diet.
    I don't want to sound like you're not doing it right, just trying to help. I still follow Rob Stuart, and my itching has gone down tremendously. I'm healing one-day-at-a-time.

    I'm almost 4 months in to TSW right now and I just celebrated my birthday yesterday with all my friends and trust me I was so not feeling it, I was literally dreading it. I woke up that day and my face was looking really bad so I spent the entire day doing maintenance on it and by 7:30 I looked SO GOOD; I did my hair and I had a super cute outfit on and I was still not really feeling it, but once I saw all my friends who I haven't hung out with in forever (because I haven't felt like going out or it's just been too hard to), I swear I haven't felt my spirits that lifted in like 6 months. It was so worth it and I'm happy that I decided to just invite my friends and make it a plan that I couldn't really go back on, because if I felt like I had had the real option to cancel, I probably would've. So yeah I hope you can end up doing something with your friends because it made me so happy seeing all the people who care about me and know about my skin be with me all at once :) (also btw my skinis acting almost the same as yours is and in the same places so I understand how annoying that patch is in the middle of your forehead)

    • @iambeezee
      @iambeezee  6 років тому

      Natalie Medina awww so pleased for you! Good friends are so hard to find, it's nice they all came together to celebrate.
      I think it's a bit late for me to plan something now it's next week! But I really don't mind skipping this one. I feel like so much is happening (which I will share with u guys in an upcoming vid!) and just being on this journey is celebration enough.
      But I agree about getting ur hair done, wearing something nice it makes u feel SOOO good. The transformation is crazy because we look like a dry sack of potatoes most of the time loool
      Happy belated birthday too xx

    I went through TSW it was bad. However, I found that I was highly allergic to wool. I had to stop wearing all wool, cashmere, or alpaca products and monitor all skin irritants i.e chemicals as best possible. Not saying this is the sole cause of your eczema but give it a try to see if it helps. In addition, I got rid of all parabens, phalates, and fragrance from all products that I put on my body. I use Avalon Organics therapy cream its thick last all day and does not contain any of the above things i want to avoid. I found avveno caused me problems and did not last all day. These are just friendly suggestions and advice. It took nearly 2 years for my skin to normalize and their is a significant difference in my skin appearance. I just refused to give in to returning to steroids and it paid off. I see you have the right attitude and I know you will prevail. Wising you the best. STAY COMMITTED!!

    I really appreciate your courage and strength for sharing your topical steroid withdrawal journey. Thank you so much, you are giving me the confidence to go out and still enjoy my life and to be confident in my skin even though I am going through tsw. Going through this has made me lose out on a lot of fun things and memories and fall behind with uni work, because all I wanted to do was hide out in my room but your journey is helping me. You are such an inspiration and so strong, we have to take the good days with the bad days and know that every day we are a day closer to our skin being healed! I can't thank you enough for sharing your journey, it has really helped me to get through my tsw troubles. For the flaky skin, you can use coal tar soap (you can get it from boots or superdrug etc.), it really helps with gently removing the flaky/crusty skin and making the skin smoother too, I found it whilst looking through tsw forums. You are so inspiring and such a positive ray of sunshine! Thank you again, you've helped me so much xx

      I was very much housebound in the beginning due to myself really. I just didn't have it in me to face the world and that's fine! Sometimes u just need time and space. But once ur skin gets to a decent state just hold ur head high and don't worry about other people. I go to work with this unicorn patch and I don't care anymore! Lol
      You'll be fine xxx

    I know how you feel sweet pea. I'm 25 and currently going through the same thing. My skin gets extremely flakely around my eyes and top lip and... Well you know the story. I'm currently on an atopic steroid but in the process of doing allergy testing. I did the testing before when I was like 12 and it really helped from then throughout high school. Maybe you could see if allergy testing could relieve some of your symptoms. The majority of the time we're having a flare it's from things like a hormonal imbalance, stress, etc. So maybe targeting why you're flaring would help in the treatment. I hope this helps. 😘

    Thank you for posting this video, Zainab! I, too, optimistically planned a holiday that involved a >10 hour flight, thinking that things would be better by the time my vacation rolled around. HA! Also, may I suggest you read a bit about adrenal fatigue? I'm currently on a diet where I reduced on carbs/sugar/caffeine and eating more low GI foods, like nuts, instead. This was really hard for me because I'm a carbavore and have a sweet tooth, but once I got with the program, I found it really helped reduce inflammation (and made me less fidgety so I scratched and picked at my skin less). Just a thought!

      Sharon Chong tbh I'm not doing any diet while going through TSW. I've just think the skin will flare REGARDLESS.

  • @SCARRIOR
    @SCARRIOR 6 років тому +2

    Im recovering very quickly from TSW i don't use moisturisers because it is well known that using a moisturiser while going through withdraw makes it worse, even now if i use moisturiser my skin becomes flakey and crap, so i stay away from moisturisers.
    I stayed in bed and moisturised under the covers just to get through and now im doing really well, got those shitty papules all over my skin but they are going away due to a strong soapy bath.
    Also see if using antibiotics stops the fluid from sticking to your skin making you think it's your skin that is flaking, but is infact the set fluid.

    • @iambeezee
      @iambeezee  6 років тому

      SCARRIOR I noticed this too... sometimes I think it's skin flaking but it's dried ooze. Ugh makes me feel so sick thinking about it
      I love staying under the covers too! Glad to hear ur healing x

    • @SCARRIOR
      @SCARRIOR 6 років тому

      Yeah they call it moisturiser withdraw, it doesnt stick to the skin when you take antibiotics its more like sweat, i heard that taking steroid cream can cause like some A grade creepy skin infection shit, so im on antibiotics and taking dove (brand name) soap baths with loads of soap and keep filling the bath with hot water, im in for like 2 to 3 hours.
      Gets rid of these raised pastules or whatever they are, they are filled with the stuff but the soap baths deplete them.

    • @iambeezee
      @iambeezee  6 років тому

      SCARRIOR hey hows ur skin now? I've really turned a corner now. I can wash my face and not have to moisturiser after. I wake up with noe flakes n I don't feel I need to put cream on. My face is so smooth.... I'll show all in the next update!

    I think you're so inspiring for this and I know it will all be worth it! Cant wait to see your final healing stages! quick question, how long did it take for the swelling you had on the third day of your trip to go down/reduce?? x

    • @iambeezee
      @iambeezee  6 років тому

      anoir thank you!xx
      My facial swelling usually goes down within the first 2 hours of waking up. I think it's the laying down that makes the fluid collect, so getting up n being upright always helps. Only problem is the skin is always so dry after swelling n I shed about 2 days after aswell

    • @adjoasny
      @adjoasny 6 років тому

      ohhh ok. Ive tried this method but my face is still swollen and its been 3 weeks which is really annoying lol. Also have you tried moisturizer withdrawal before? I've been hearing that it helps fasten the healing process...

    • @iambeezee
      @iambeezee  6 років тому

      anoir ahhh, maybe this a different kind of swelling. If u look at my 2 month update vid about 2minutes and 48 seconds in, I show how my face swelled within the first week of stopping the steroids. This didn't just go away, I was swollen for a few weeks too unfortunately. It just takes time. What happened on holiday was a bit different. Whenever my face swells now (being nearly 6 months in) it swells overnight, and it goes down within a few hours of waking.
      Sorry I don't have any tips to get rid of it! It's only time until it goes. How far along are you?

    My son has eczema on his face. One day we found a Birch Tree Moisturizer with Betulin from a Polish company Sylveco. I started to read more about betulin and it is very promising for atopic skin. Because of it, I started to import these creams to the United States. I believe they help.

    • @iambeezee
      @iambeezee  6 років тому

      Alina Cosmetics when I went for an allergy test they said the thing I'm most allergic to is "birch tree pollen" I dunno if that cream has it in there or it's just a name but I'd be scared to try it!
      Glad it works for ur son x

    • @alinacosmetics1501
      @alinacosmetics1501 6 років тому

      He is allergic to many European trees and yes, birch trees, as well. Betulin is just an extract from the bark of that tree and doesn't have anything to do with pollen. I don't know if you know about Chaga mushroom which also grows on birch trees and has this same betulin acid. Russians from Syberia and Nordic people were using Chaga for ages as a medicine. Scientists are already checking it for anti-cancer properties but betulinic acid has been known for properties helping with atopic skin. It is just a natural emollient very moisturizing and soothing atopic skin, calming flair-ups and irritations and helping with the itch. It was allergy tested.I thought it might help you to elevate some of the symptoms while you go throughought that withdraw from steroids period. I bet you can find it in the UK and it is inexpensive.

    Hi! Have you considered going to a Chinese herbalist? I've had tsw for a month now and recently went to see a Chinese herbalist, which he gave me some herbal powder to mix with water to drink. My redness and itchiness has definitely gone down. I still struggle with dryness but it has helped tremendously. I'm not completely cured from TSW just yet but I think it's looking a bit better. I've also cut out a lot of foods and completely changed my diet. Hang in there!!

    • @iambeezee
      @iambeezee  6 років тому

      Priscilla Banh Hi! I tried Chinese herbal medicine when I was younger for my eczema n it really made me ill. I was vomiting a lot n going toilet a lot so I think imma bit traumatised lol
      Its also expensive - I just kind of wanna get through this without changing anything if that makes sense so when I'm healed I just carry on as is. I'm just worried that trying all this stuff can make me flare once I stop them. Does that make sense?
      Glad its working for you tho!

    Try dry body brushing and Shea butter, and also bentonite clay masks, they all should help , oatmeal masks ..

    • @iambeezee
      @iambeezee  6 років тому

      T gh thanks I've tried shea butter it really doesn't moisturize me at all it sucks. Even coconut oil.
      Dry brushing I would try but all these masks n clays im not sure. I'm so scared to put anything new on my face in case it sets me back just like what happened with the Aveeno
      Maybe when my skin is doing even better I can try 😁

    • @tgh7695
      @tgh7695 6 років тому

      Zainab Danjuma I totally get it ,. Too bad shea didnt work for you, maybe a shea lotion, a more natural one would help, as shea butter alone can be hard to apply , it wont help much i agree, but it would be like Vaseline but more nourishing, maybe try patch test on your neck first, and i have read that sulfur, zinc supplements, probiotics , omega 3s and oils like borage oil,help a lot with eczema , also magnesium baths and sea salt bath, but of course be cautious.
      i dont think it would make the topical steroid withdrawal go away, because the body needs to take its time to heal, but these are for eczema maintenance,might help.. stay strong 🙌🏼

    Hi can you tell me your skin routine/wash routine? I'm in a similar situation where i've used steroids for a long time and i really don't know what else to try in its place. Can you please tell me what you use? creams/moisturizers etc.

    • @iambeezee
      @iambeezee  6 років тому +2

      Hi! My routine is VERY simple. I only wash my face with warm to hot water. I soak a flannel/face towel in the water and wring out so it's just damp. Put that on my face for a few seconds to kind of steam it then rub my face very gently to get off the dry skin
      After I use "Aquaphor healing ointment" all over my face and neck.... that's it! I have to keep it simple because my skin reacts to everything even water in the beginning!
      Have u stopped the steroids now? How long have u been on them for?
      I think in my next vid I'm going to do a skin routine, a few people have asked

    • @Chariekinsx

      I have acne and eczema for a long time, I went to the doctors when I was young and was told to you Dalacin T in the morning ( a cream) and Daktakort at night which is the steroid, I've probably used the the steroid for 5 years give or take, i was given this as a skin clinic at the doctors and went about using it (i was young so i didn't know this could happen if i used it for too long and it pisses me off knowing the doctors never told me to go back to see them to see how i reacted to it) I eventually requested to see my dermatologist who has tried a number of creams for me (getting rid of my two original ones, including the steroid) which never worked out because they always burnt my skin, its very sensitive and painful. I saw her last month and she has now put me on Azelaic Acid which still burns a bit but is better than the others shes given me. I called her today mentioning how my eczema is flaring up as she never gave me anything to treat it to replace the steroid, currently i have a lot of red irritating skin, leaking a bit and its all sore.. she has given me Elidel (another steroid!!?!?) to put on the days im not using the azelaic acid and a hydrocortisone cream to help hydrate my skin on bad days. Why would she give me more steroids if she thinks i could be having this bad rash due to steroid abuse? i've literally only come across this today by the way lmao so im all confused/scared. I've been weaning off the steroids to replace it with this azelaic acid for about a month now and this bad 'rash' has only started in the last couple of days. Not really sure what I should do to be honest, any advice? (so sorry its long!)

    • @iambeezee
      @iambeezee  6 років тому +1

      Dorky Diva im not a doctor so all I can say is what I've experienced. Daktacort is a steroid cream ur right. Elidel isn't a steroid it's an immunosuppressant cream BUT people who have moved from steroid to elidel or protopic (similar cream) they still experience withdrawal when stopping. So maybe that's why ur skin is sore and weeping? Again I'm not a doctor but that's how it goes - u stop the creams and ur skin goes crazy
      Have u seen my other vids? Please watch my first tsw vid "topical steroid withdrawal and me" n see if this is what's happening to u. And many all the other updates to show how my skin has changed over the months

    • @Chariekinsx
      @Chariekinsx 6 років тому

      Yeah i actually found you today after finding out about this. I haven't used Elidel or hydro-cortisone yet. I think my derm wants me to use Azelaic acid (for my acne) twice a week, Elidel the nights I dont use the other cream, and the hydrocortisone cream when my skin flares but something just tells me I should stop using ALL of it and try to find something natural but I havent got the first clue. I think i'll go to the doctors on monday and tell them I think I have this and what should I do, I don't see my derm for another 4 months but she's throwing all these creams at me before I think she looks at the real reason for all this going on. Its all very scary and confusing.

    • @iambeezee
      @iambeezee  6 років тому

      Dorky Diva daktacort contains hydrocortisone. Daktacort has 2 ingredients, miconazole which is an antifungal and hydrocortisone to bring down redness. I used to work in a pharmacy I remember these things lol
      Definitely ask for alternative, but also be prepared for them to tell u that steroids and immunosuppressive creams are the only way! My doc didn't listen to me even after telling him I didn't want steroids
