    1. Use natural light.
    2. Step back and shoot from above to capture more.

    I really don't understand all the people asking money for this activity. Every day we use google, google translator, google maps, google keep and others tools totally for free. Google improved my life totally for free. This is the first time google asked (asked, not forced) me something and I am really happy to exchange the courtesy, doing exactly what I like to do: share my pictures and my experience with others persons

      Same here, posting reviews is a nice and productive thing for me to do waiting in line most of the time and I already take a billion photos everywhere I go so if it helps a business I love then of course I'll post it

    People are asking for money, the almighty money. Ok, I don't have it either, but Local Guides is not about making money, it's a way, a willingness of showing what catches my eye in this place where I am now. I know, there are guys making millions with our information, but it happens everywhere, in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, you name it.

    though I'm not a food photographer, that one with the flower at 17secs is blurry and grainy at such iso. not enough light. the one after the "bad" prata or that dough flour thing is clearly edited. Shld have shown how to frame without an edited shot. this is like sper basic of how-tos
    Advise to use natural light with mirrors or reflective objects to shine at certain angles. would be great if framing and placement of subjects were taught

      Think about 3 words "WORD OF MOUTH". I disagree with the other reply to your question, as being an entrepreneur with a strict startup budget (specifically for smaller, local businesses) can be overwhelming enough (especially for 1st-time business owners). And the worries of advertising costs or not attracting enough business just adds to it! If it's a legit (legal) business with an honest business owner that has nothing to hide but rather provide a service, product(s), food, craft, information, skill, etc, (as advertised to the public or informed to the buyer) not misleading or scamming them, then where is the harm in a customer(s) sharing pics of their experience at that business, and what the business has to offer? So long as it's done in a way that doesn't violate another patron's privacy?
      💵 THAT'S WHAT YOU CALL FREE ADVERTISING... Furthermore, research has shown for many years now, that "word of mouth" is the most trusted & effective form of marketing there is for attracting & gaining more customers. More people tend to believe what they see or hear about a product or service when it's coming from another person that has already purchased or used that product or service, in comparison to other forms of advertising (whether social media-based or online ads or traditional advertising such as TV or radio commercials, newspapers, billboards, etc). Customer or shopper pics should be encouraged and even appreciated if a business has customer-worthy product(s) or service(s) to sell!

      gp1 My personal opinion? Since we (guides) are technically working for Google with absolutely no pay at all, it would be nice of them and an amazing gesture on their part, if a guide reaches level 10 (master guide) Google would send them a free Google pixel. It's a win win; business expense write off or tax deductible for them, we make them happy by continuing to make their service better using THEIR PHONE, they make us happy and feel appreciated, and the pixel's camera photos would look amazing! Come on google, we deserve it for our hard efforts and time! Again, I'm not asking to get paid, I'm saying that on top of that fact that people who contribute to Google's platforms don't get paid (which is ok with me), the least they can do is show appreciation with a wonderful gesture & reward those who contribute the most. UA-cam creators get a massive golden UA-cam logo in a frame sent to their address once they hit 1 million subscribers. Why do they do that? Because UA-cam is a nothing burger without creators, just as Google maps would be a nothing burger without its local Guides.
      Note : For anyone who wants to be a troll /keyboard warrior/ online gangsta and come at me, read below first. Everyime I get a reply from a moron, I will paste their comment here along with an answer that's fitting and appropriate.
      * Troll / keyboard warrior /online gangsta says :
      - " You're not working for them."
      * A Local guide who thinks all level 10 Local Guides should get a pixel from google as a gesture of kindness & act of goodwill says :
      - Yes we are. They have employees that get up each morning, leave their residence and walk around all day with a camera strapped to their backs, or drive around in the Google car to photograph the streets, houses, infrastructure and businesses ALL GET PAID. Aren't they doing similar work as us? Aren't we Contributing to Google's database just as much as they are? Thought so.
      * Troll /keyboard warrior /online gangsta says :
      - "Nobody forced you to help."
      * A Local guide who thinks all level 10 Local Guides should get a pixel from google as a gesture of kindness & act of goodwill says :
      - If you agree with the above answer to the previous comment, it nullifies this comment. In addition, nobody forced those very same employees who have cameras strapped to their backs nor the employees who drive around all day to work either. It's a choice, a decision.
      * Troll /keyboard warrior/ online gangsta says :
      - "Oh, but they're helping you too!"
      * A Local guide who thinks all level 10 Local Guides should get a pixel from google as a gesture of kindness & act of goodwill says :
      - It doesn't require a genius to reply to this. Doesn't any place where one works, pay them? Don't they in return receive service from you? Do those same employees not shop where they work and have added benefits? Keep in mind, the only reason they're able to help us the way they do, is because several people such as myself have contributed endlessly & massively over the years to the platform and made it what it is today. Even slaves were paid in some form, even if it was their own food and water.
      * Troll /keyboard warrior /online gangsta says:
      - "Well if you work for free, you're an idiot."
      * A Local guide who thinks all level 10 Local Guides should get a pixel from google as a gesture of kindness & act of goodwill says :
      - Says the person who has probably never ever worked for a charity, volunteered anywhere, or helped anybody be it a friend or a family member. Ever done any of those? Yes? Did you get paid? If yes, you got paid for work that you shouldn't have been paid for, hence making you an asshole. If no, you're an asshole for making that comment. Keep in mind, even volunteers who work for charities get recognized and awarded for their efforts. A friend or family member may bring you a gift because you helped them move houses or helped them fix something. There's nothing wrong with recognizing and commending people for their efforts. When we feel the people that are being helped, enjoyed and valued our help and they show it in some way, it makes us happy that we did what we did, strive and want to do better and want to do more.
      * Troll/ keyboard warrior/online gangsta says:
      - "You don't deserve Google ."
      * A Local guide who thinks all level 10 Local Guides should get a pixel from google as a gesture of kindness & act of goodwill says :
      - Is Google your one and only precious daughter whose hand you don't want to give away in marriage? Who are you to say that I don't deserve Google ? I've given up more than you know and contributed plenty to be able to use Google. I, and people like myself (perhaps unlike you), give up our privacy and our rights to several things to be able to use Google. We agree to get stalked by being tracked 24/7, harassed with notifications, molested with unwanted software at times and flooded with ads JUST to be able to gain this convenience otherwise known as Google. So before you say I don't deserve Google, stick your own foot in your mouth and suck it, suck it reeeeaaaaaal good.
      Any more trolling/keyboard warrior online gangsta comments? Shoot. I can go all day & night, each day, everyday 😊

    Hello to all Local Guides on planet earth. Just practice your photos at home. Take photos of your own dinner! Next time you are at restaurant you will know: Background, Lighting, Angle. Then, on your phone: Saturation, Contrast, Sharpness (small amounts)
