Berry is with your index finger. Cherry is with your pinky finger. When you did black berry, you accidentally did black cherry. Also, when you spoke about the stem with pinky, you stated your non-dominant hand makes the cherry. It’s the dominant one that makes it, but you did it right. Think of the dominant hand that does most of the signing movement (talking).
I have another question: I saw the sign for berry was the index finger and the pinky for cherry. But then the BlackBerry sign showed black and what was shown as cherry. Is it BlackBerry or black cherry? 🤷♀️
I'm still learning asl for myself & I'm not fluent so this is probably wrong, but I assume either fingers can be used and still mean blackberry, just based on context clues. Blackberry is a more common & specific word than black cherry and by putting the signs "black" and "berry" (or cherry) together in that order it makes one single cohesive sign. If you were saying black cherry you would probably sign "cherry" and then "black" afterwards since it's more like a adjective in that case. Basically black+cherry = blackberry. Cherry+black = cherry that is black, aka black cherry. could be wrong but that's how I would assume it works 😅
@Jaden's Antic's lmao I know my answer was long 😭 didn't really know how to word it better & thought the extra info might be helpful. Will try to be more concise next time lololol
Thanks for these easy learning videos im learn n teaching my non verbal 3 yr old daughter so she has a way she can tell us What she wants now she will sign. I eat strawberry or other foods so nice instead of her being frustrated trying to talk but not knowing how
might I suggest you leave the word you are describing on for the full portion of that explanation so deaf or hard of hearing learners can glance at the word all the way through as a reminder of the sign being taught. It would help solidify the connection between the word and the sign given for those who can't hear you speak.
I have a question: I notice melon and pumpkin have the same sign. I guess for both melons and squashes you do tap them. But even with the orange sign, how do you know if it's referring to cantaloupe or pumpkin? I'm learning Spanish and notice a similar situation with all melons being "melon" and all squashes/pumpkins being called "calabaza". Should I spell the type of melon or squash out?
Love what you're doing! Question: There seems to be 2 signs for love. Wondering what the difference is? Do you use one for romantic love and the other for a friend? Thanks!
I have two questions for you. First, how do you distinguish black cherry from black berry? And The motions for Experience and peach fuzz look the same to me How do you differentiate?
Hi, I'm come from the last video lol this question just popped into my head I'm a fast food worker trying to learn some sign language when signing cheese bruger do I sgn cheese and then follow it with hamburger
Other then the red sign of Tomato is it also done with 1 finger compared to cucumber (with 2 in the video) ? Also I noticed berry is done alternatively with pinky & index in the video is that correct ?
Your logo sign what does it mean. By the way I'm new at this and I like your lessons the most. I'm 71 yrs old and always wanted to learn a new language
I absolutely love you channel!! I've learned so much from you and your day to understand descriptions with each sign, and that you don't repeat each one often, you just move on. I signed up for Fall semester at my local College to go even further with ASL. I do have one question.... for 'grapefruit' could you sign 'grape' and 'fruit' instead of fingerspelling it, or would that not be acceptable in the Deaf community?
There's no answer here to your question, but I was wondering the same thing for "raspberry." Maybe sign "r-a-s" and the sign for "berry," or make the sign for "red" and "berry." And the same for "blueberry," which could be the signs for "blue" and "berry." I'm pretty sure that fluent signers do have their own shortcuts, even if they are not taught to students in school or online.
Love your videos, thank you, but when I try to subscribe to your newsletter, it says there is an error when they're clearly isn't. Can someone please help with this?
I’m confused about berry, black berry and cherry. You said that blackberry is the color black and berry after, but you used your pinky to say cherry. Is it actually the pointer finger for black (berry)? Sorry still learning
Why you do black “berries “ on the index finger and “berries “ and “ cherries “ on the pinky finger? Why not “black berries “ and “berries” on the same finger and “cherries “ on a different one?
As a hearing person, I have to disagree with you. I have tried it both ways, and it is extremely frustrating for me to watch silent instruction. Sometimes captions can help, but the voice is most helpful for me. A beginner benefits from listening to the voice, and/or reading captions, and then maybe later can advance to silent instruction.
@@kathrynbravo5402 Understandable that it's easier for you. However, this is about advocacy for deaf people and teaching ASL correctly, not making it easier for hearing people. Deaf people 1. generally know sign better and more intimately. 2. Deserve to be the people who teach their own language rather than these opportunities being given to hearing people, who already take most opportunities from deaf people. I recommend LifePrint or ASL That.
This is just for me as a subway employee 🙂
0:53 avocado
1:58 cucumber
3:37 raisin
3:45 salad
3:53 spinach

This is by far the best channel to learn from. This is my first day and Iearned a lot. 💕
So glad you love our content.
Don’t care lol
The Best asl teacher ever, God bless you!!!!

Thanks for the feedback.
It's nice to know what peach, grapes and banana are! It's also nice to know which ones don't have signs.
Thank you so much! The way you show each sign is so thorough

@Jaden's Antic's why do you have to be a curt jackass? Many signs for that that people can show you in life 💯
Thanks for these easy learning videos im learn n teaching my non verbal 3 yr old daughter so she has a way she can tell us
What she wants now she will sign. I eat strawberry or other foods so nice instead of her being frustrated trying to talk but not knowing how
Fruit, vegetable, strawberry, apple, cucumber, melon, potato, pineapple, and berry were the most useful to me :)
I like your sign for avocado. I love to see variations for signs. 🥑
There are soooo many variations of signs!!! It's hard to keep up with them all.
Yes, so many! That's one of the things that I love about Sign Language.
Wow, who knew there were sp many signs for fruits and vegetables? Wow!

I have learned so much and just this one day
Can't wait to hear how much you have learned in a month!
Wow amazing...I'm so happy to learn from you
I wish you had photos with the words so I could use this with my parents who are ESL learners and also need ASL for their Deaf children. :)
Am practicing everyday 🙂 I can finger spell letter's good
So happy to keep learning from you! Thanks a lot!
Thank you for making so many videos. 💓
thank you for these videos they are so helpful
Berry with index finger non-dominate. Berry in BlackBerry is with pinky non-dominate? Or can use either finger?
Thank you very much
Garlic has a sign. Take index finger and touch side of nose as if stinky.
Thanks 🙏

Yes you are correct, for specific melons or squash you will fingerspell.
Love what you're doing! Question: There seems to be 2 signs for love. Wondering what the difference is? Do you use one for romantic love and the other for a friend? Thanks!
I think one is for a person and the one she did today is loving a thing or place.
@@heatherakers5453 Thanks!

THANK YOU!!!
Question: why is Grapefruit finger spelled and not a combination of grape and fruit?
Great question. My thoughts are because grapes aren't actually apart of a grapefruit.
I am so glad they finger spell broccoli
Also if my mom is sleeping can I not go fsh on finsh
Love your videos, thank you, but when I try to subscribe to your newsletter, it says there is an error when they're clearly isn't. Can someone please help with this?
Really wish this would have had pictures to go with words for the kids to see and understand better

I downloaded all your videos
Is it okay that I sign with my non dominate hand it's just easier that way
Yes, as long as you are consistent with you using your non-dominate hand.
Yummy
4:30 is vegetable
Most replayed was Black Berry bc shes doing black + cherry? confusion
sry for being late but why didn't you put onion in this
Can you pleaseeeee do a baby sign language video or series 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏.
It is on our list.
Is that black berry or black cherry??
Why you do black “berries “ on the index finger and “berries “ and “ cherries “ on the pinky finger? Why not “black berries “ and “berries” on the same finger and “cherries “ on a different one?
U should make a 📀 DVD
Melon looks like pumpkin, and peach looks like experience
I feel like potato should be described as the two fingers pointing that to the eyes of the potato
Oooo I like that! Great connection.
Amazon Tablet says, "thanks".
I really need to know this how do chipotle in 🤟 language
You just need to fingerspell it.
Never seen strawberry signed that way....is this a known/accepted sign?
i know two teaching asl channels and both people are named Meredith lol-
This is my Daughters mom my Child can’t speak
if you all are pro's then try 2X lets see if you are pro's😏
ASL instructors should be deaf. Period.
Nah cuz I learn better when they pronounce the words. I'm not deaf but want to understand them .
only Deaf people should teach ASL. and the most effective way to teach and learn is voice off!!!!!!
