I have adored sign language ever since I was a child and now I’m a student of ASL.Your videos are absolutely awesome. I appreciate them so much. Thank you 💜💜💜
I have decided to learn sign language for a multitude of reasons, but I appreciate your hard work in making the connection between where the sign stems from and its conontation!!!
i started learning sign language from her she explain it so well thank you so much so clear and want to really learn it.. dont really have deaf friends i wish i did to be honest
This is wonderful my son loves your video and wants to learn how to sign because he wants to know when a deaf person is talking to him or if he needs to talk to that person hope you don't stop.
I am going to practice the heck out of this with all of my customers at work (retail) honestly I wish i learned ASL so much younger, better late than never.
Thank you for your awesome videos!!! They help me greatly!!! Praise God for people like you that dedicate time to helping newbies like me. Have a blessed day!!! ❤️
I love this video so much. First off, I love the little girl in it because I feel like I'm her learning this. Second, this reminds me of when I first learned German (my second language) because once you catch the number patterns and practice enough, it's so much easier than you ever thought! Such a good feeling! :)
When signing numbers, do you only have your palm turned inward for single-digits 1-5? For the rest of the numbers your palm was facing out. Loved the video!
ive been watching your videos like mad to learn ASL. my family is moving to ontario, and i found out that ASL is also used in canada. strangely, ASL is sticking with me better than all my other attempts to learn a language other than english lol. your videos are amazing!
Omg u are the best online asl teacher ever!!! Ur videos are so helpful and easy to understand and straight to the point, u make it really clear and easy and fast to understand
I want to start off by saying thank you so much. You really made it easy to learn. I appreciate you so much! Thank you Also 5:20 her reaction has been exactly how I feel learning ASL watching your videos 😂
I am losing my hearing and I have heard that deaf instruction is the best. I disagree. It helps me to understand you and what it stems from as to how to sign. I have been able to even clean and use my earphones and then not watch after learning the first time from you and I remember the motion after I rewatch. Thank you.
Wow. Damn... Why not you all non-native non-Deaf people just take over the ASL teaching industry. Who cares about the Deaf, native signers who invented and relies on sign language? Give them a boot! You know "Easy learn, easy forget" is something I always tell my ASL students.
Oh my gosh, your tip about the 2 fingers + the number was just what I needed. My online ASL teacher is generally great, but doesn’t give as many of these tips to remember as you do, and I was having difficulty keeping up when he was counting the 20s. Thank you!!
These videos are amazing and super helpful! I've been getting bursts of motivation to learn ASL since I was maybe 6 ish but any course or site I've found hasn't kept my interest for long. I've started watching your videos in hopes to be able to communicate should I come across someone who is HOH or deaf. They are very educational while still being enjoyable. Thanks!
how do you do repeating numbers like 33, 44, 55? do you do it like 22? how about 66, 77, 88, 99? does the "rocking numbers" apply to it as well? thank you!
I don’t think I’ll ever get the full gist sign language, but I am trying. I just hope that if ever I am signing to someone I don’t offend them if I do something wrong. I have practiced saying I am learning ASL I am slow at reading signs.
Whoa! I just learned how to sign from 1 to 999 million in just 10 minutes, way easier to learn then other normal language's number's. One question though, how do you sign 1 billion?
Awesome question.....this one really relies on context clues of the sentence. Think of homonyms in English like bat the animal vs bat for baseball. They sound the same but means something different. Again and thousand are signed almost identically so it could be the English equivalent of a homonym.
Dang I think this is like my third or fourth time watching this video, and it didn't seem as hard this time! I guess you could say that's a good...sign
How do you sign 888,888? I tried. Not sure if I’m correct. Is it signing 8 then the hundred sign- then 8-8 then the thousand sign, then repeat minus the thousand sign?
Great video! On a side note, ASL seems very intuitive to me, except for when it comes to numbers. It feels like there's no set structure but instead just individual signs for each number. 😔
Might be a dumb question but do non speaking people when giving a ridiculous number wait for the second tap to build anticipation? I’m genuinely curious so I don’t offend someone while telling a story
Sorry so when you sign two your palm is facing you but when you sign say 200 the 2 is facing away from you then you make the c? Thanks anyone who is able to help
Great question. If you fingerspell or sign something incorrectly you will just do a slight wave with your hand while shaking your head. Then start again from the beginning of the word or phrase you messed up on. Hope this helps.
Pacing is good. Repetition of the signs is good. Mnemonics are appreciated. But if I hear the phase "can you do...?" again I'm going to lose my mind, and had to give up halfway through. Maybe after the first couple times the really repetitive phrase could have been edited out?
I have been teaching myself to sign and these videos help a ton! Thank you
You’re welcome! Keep learning how to sign! 😉
I have been teaching myself and my 4yr old granddaughter.

I learned all the numbers from this one video. You are so helpful!!! Because of you I sign numbers confidently.

You can do it!
Thank you Meredith and Kate.
Thank you too!
how do you do repeating numbers like 33, 44, 55? do you do it like 22?
how about 66, 77, 88, 99? does the "rocking numbers" apply to it as well? thank you!
Yes just like 22! Just bounce the number twice not rocking needed.
I was looking for a comment about that thank you ❤
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I LIKED AND SUBSCRIBED
Thank you very much for the video
Kate is SOOOOOOO cute!! And so patient!!!
You are great and I want more videos on ASL

I would like to ask, for the sign 1000. Is the no. 1 in 1000 facing our face or tothe front?
Great question! The 1 face out. 1-5 faces you only when signed by itself.
For example: "ME HAVE 1 DOG" This is signed with the 1 facing to you.
@@LearnHowtoSign noted 📌thanks for the answer 😊

Great job.
Billion is actually fingerspell BIL after the number.
@@LearnHowtoSign Oh I see, thank you. Keep up the good work. :)

Mashaallah thank you very much for this❤️
How would you do a sequence of numbers or more than one number, how would you separate them?
i looooove your videos 😍😍
So great..Thank you 🤟🏻
You are welcome.
I know some spoken French and I remember what you said about the beginnings of ASL... is the "c" for hundred from the French word "cent" for hundred?
Hi again! Can you differentiate “again” and “thousand”?
Awesome question.....this one really relies on context clues of the sentence. Think of homonyms in English like bat the animal vs bat for baseball. They sound the same but means something different. Again and thousand are signed almost identically so it could be the English equivalent of a homonym.
Thanks a lot
i have a question for a number like 31 after we showing 3 for showing number 1 our Palm should be which side ? our self or not ?
Thank you
Man that was hard but I liked it a lot I def will be back to keep on learning it that’s for sure
Yes! Keep coming back!
Wait how would you do the 30s-90s and is the the 32, 42, 52 etc the same as 22??
I enjoy your videos. I do have a question, 22 you nod the twos, 32 do you nod 3-2 and on through 40?
So wholesome
what about repeated digits >30? 33? 44? ... 88? 99? Do they all follow the same pattern as the 22 you demonstrated?
I Love your Videos!
Thank you!!!
Dang I think this is like my third or fourth time watching this video, and it didn't seem as hard this time! I guess you could say that's a good...sign
So, numbers from one to five are the only numbers facing toward you?
So even though 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are done with the palm facing you, when you use them in conjunction with 1000, the palm faces out correct?
Correct!
Hello! I have a doubt here. How can I differentiate W and 6 as both of them have the same sign?
How do you sign 888,888? I tried. Not sure if I’m correct. Is it signing 8 then the hundred sign- then 8-8 then the thousand sign, then repeat minus the thousand sign?
Great video! On a side note, ASL seems very intuitive to me, except for when it comes to numbers. It feels like there's no set structure but instead just individual signs for each number. 😔
exactly Its Very educated
How do you do 31? 41? 51?…And are both 1’s in 101 done with palm facing out?
It is palm facing out sign 3 1 for 31 etc
And 100s are done with palm out as well.
What about repeating numbers like 44?
Move the numbers :) if same
You're simply awesome. You're so sweet lady.
Thousand and again are signed the same way how do I prevent confusion
How about double number? Like 33, 44, 55 and so on
What about double numbers?
And for the rest I love the video
How you sign decimals? Like amounts in money.
My name is Kate to and I’m learning sign language 😂😂
What do you do if you mess up? Is there an easy way to say that?
Great question. If you fingerspell or sign something incorrectly you will just do a slight wave with your hand while shaking your head. Then start again from the beginning of the word or phrase you messed up on. Hope this helps.
I can’t find the sign for the word “count”. I’m trying to learn to sign to a child, “do you want to count?” Can you help?
Count is the non-dominate hand with a flat palm facing up and dominate F hand moving from palm to finger tips. Hope this helps.
What is the difference between letter F and number 9. What is the difference between number 6 and letter W
It's mostly about context, but 9 and F and 6 and W have a tiny difference of flat fingers with 9 and 6 where W and F have a bend.
HI KATE!
Kate says hi!
Wait can number 2 get mixed up with letter v?
Edit: just realized that’s why the numbers have to be facing you
I'm going to sign "I want 500 more food please" to my parents and they will have no idea
Pacing is good. Repetition of the signs is good. Mnemonics are appreciated.
But if I hear the phase "can you do...?" again I'm going to lose my mind, and had to give up halfway through. Maybe after the first couple times the really repetitive phrase could have been edited out?
...
how do you sign 0
just make a 0
0 is the same as the letter o. You will make a circle with your dominate hand.
For me, I find Signing Numbers a bit harder to remember than the Alphabet. 😅
me too
can I do the same thing in the case of 20 that you did to sign the thirty
Did you know that skip-bo is the grandma game of choice
🥰🥰🥰
10
So every time we counted 3 on our hand, we were counting 6😮😂
But 9 you say don't make a circle b/c it's the letter F, but 19 you do make a circle with thumb and finger?
Im raging rn
