    I agree. Also, fasting has its place sometimes.
    ---
    1 Corinthians 7.5a
    Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer;
    Matt 6.16-17
    Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
    But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;
    Matt 9.15 (similar Mark 2.20)
    the days will come, when the bridegroom (Christ) shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
    Matthew 17.21
    Howbeit this kind [of demon] goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
    Acts 10.30
    And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing
    Acts 13.2-3
    As they [disciples] ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
    Acts 14.23
    And when they [apostles] had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed
    Paul even fasted between all his hardships! Amazing:
    2 Corinthians 11.27
    In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

    If anyone wants tips, to make fasting easy (or at least much easier), I can share what Ive learned. Just stopping eating one day is really really hard.

      I definitely have a bad relationship with food, but the Lord is diligently working on it in me. I struggle with fasting. I care too much about food, that's for sure. Sometimes I just decide to fast that day and oftentimes it sets me up for failure. What have you learned and what might you recommend to a weak one like me?

      @@Hallowed_Ground I think for most people the problem is carbohydrates. If I can get to low carb, then fasting is (yes literally) easy. In fact, so easy that I can forget to eat.
      Aseem Malholtra of the Lancet and peter attia of mit and a hundred others are saying demonization of saturated fat and cholesterol were never evidence based and have turned out to be incorrect. Dr. Paul Mason in particular is good about reviewing all the evidence. And David Diamond re cholesterol. But regardless of that opinion, for spiritual purposes one is much hungrier not getting enough fat and protein going into a fast, or just daily life.
      Getting to low carb is not easy. Ive found adding foods is better than removing. Adding a min requirement of this or that low carb food. And water.
      Finally the mcmasters study out of canada, on hundreds of thousands of people, is the new definitive study on sodium intake. The ideal intake is 5g, not on low-carb, just generally. Salt is up there with air and water for necessity. Our cellular sodium concentrations are very high. But aside from those debates, on a spiritual level, it is just easier to fast if getting enough salt. A drink of a little vinegar and lemon juice and salt in water helps appetite so much and does not break a fast. Salt also helps with reducing carb.
      One of the problems is ending up thinking all foods have some problem and having nothing we can freely eat. Adding enough meat and protein and fat and salt, as a goal instead of only avoiding things, helps. Eventually I do avoid carbs, but it’s much easier when getting enough nutrition.
      I know this is a controversial thing, so I hope something I wrote is helpful. God bless you.

      @@Hallowed_Ground But I would be remiss if i didnt tell you that in all my extensive research into diet and work in the hospital and at a pharma company, the most important thing is summarized in a video here called “Dr. Chris A Knobbe - Omega 6 Apocalypse..”. I’ll post link, which only sometimes comes through. Other journal articles or videos may be required to convince you of his hypothesis, but I imagine they will, and I at least believe with certainty it’s correct. Nina Something is also prevalent in this with videos, theyll probably come up. If you want papers, his video has references.

      @@ibperson7765 How do I avoid the processed foods, like oil, refined wheat flour, the junky stuff that he says is killing us? I don't have a lot of money, I'm a young single adult without much disposable income. What would you suggest I do? I definitely would like to avoid these things that may be killing us. Also, is there any other oil I could use that wouldn't be so awful and detrimental to my health?
