- Breaking News!! This is a video I made on July 23, 2024, at 4pm in Plant City Florida of a CSX local freight train derailing several cars coming out from Gulf Coast Cooling and Packaging company closing down the East Terrace Drive railroad crossing. Plus added feature of Amtrak train the Silver Star #92 passing S Webb Road railroad crossing with 3 locomotives.
This is a BREAKING NEWS train derailment video that happened hours ago on July 23rd about 2PM.

It's on the Shilo siding, the main line uses concrete sleepers. (ties) I live two miles south of this point. Looks like a lot of insufficient track maintenance. Ron W4BIN
It appears that the tracks are in the same sorry state as our roads.

Funny, I never heard anything about it on the local news channels.
The train didn't go off the rails...The rails went out from under the train! You can see how the sleepers (railroad ties) just crumbled, allowing the rails to spread apart from gauge stress. Great video!

You saw the Osprey nest on top of the pole there,it might have been caused by bird poop on the rail.

It’s very scary to see a derailment and you never know when those cars are going to fall
Looks like the ties aren't very good and the rails spread apart. The 2 Marinette Tomahawk and Western (Tomahawk Railway) boxcars caught my eye since it's a little short line in Northern Wisconsin which is quite a long way from Plant City Florida.
Those ties are above average for a industry track .....they look pretty good ....
Man, I hate it when that happens......

A friend of mine that used to be the afternoon roundhouse foreman here in Plymouth, MI, said CSX stood for "Cheap Shitty Xpress"!

CSX had a derailment on the RF&P Subdivision in Fredericksburg, VA at approximately 9 pm on 20 July 2024. Five cars of a general manifest went on the ground. It happened less than a mile south of the Fredericksburg, VA Amtrak/VRE station. There's some coverage of it from DC news stations on UA-cam.

Looks like a combination of rotten ties, and heat warping of the rails caused the rail to slide out of gauge.
Was that derailment on the A Line or the S Line?

They are refrigerator boxcars! They are used to carry ice cream, orange juice, drinks, and so much more
