When you guys said "they're gonna need another Monty" regarding the expansion to cover all the new wells and exploration... well how about Cooper the guy two months from a petroleum engineering degree and a minor in geology?
The Cooper character is reminiscent of a similar character in Yellowstone. I think his name was Jimmy. Skinny guy just trying to fit in with no experience. Maybe Taylor Sheridan likes the underdogs...
Landman is the perfect exposure to characters that real human beings who we never were or never what to become. Unfortunately the characters are created On what art inmates.
I love that we are getting your guys point of view on what is an awesome show…but it is weird to me that you guys shit on so much of the “it being a show” part…when it’s bringing such a such microscope to what you guys have to deal with…confusing?
Title should be 'Landmen Who Think They're Entertainment Critics Analyze A Nighttime Soap Opera Like They Believe It's A Documentary' Or maybe the whole point for these guys closer to the top of this historically very questionably operated industry is to make everything in the show seem ridiculous so anything actually reality based, or even close to reality, won't be taken seriously 🤔
I agree it's like ya I like the show BUTTTT it's all wrong and inaccurate, ok and to most people they don't care as long as the story makes sense and is good.
I like Cooper. I think that he is a sweetie, he didn't mean to fall for her but he did anyway. He has a good heart for her and her kids and he is there protecting her when her own family are being abusive idiots. I am curious about what happened in this upcoming 10th episode. I see him as the guy who fate sent in to get her out of an awful situation instead of being stuck in out of traditional habits.

Seriously, it's entertainment NOT a documentary! So criticizing such things does seem ridiculous, confusing, or deliberate! It's a nighttime soap opera ffs 🤔 It would make sense those closer to the top of that business would want to make little & obvious things seem ridiculously unrealistic/laughable to minimize the notion any of it could be reality based.
Howdy from a fellow west TX landman.👋 Enjoying yall's discussions!
Thanks!

I found Cooper was more like Kayce. The estranged son, but without the Navy Seal skills. With a Latina girlfriend, instead of a native -American.
LOL, I don't know about underdogs but TS sure likes t and a.
Great point!

That place where they was working out is in the 7th st district of Fort Worth
I think after episode 8 you'll have a different thought on Cooper.
Oh boy!
