In that same Chapter, Verse 40, Jesus said, "And this is the will of him who sent me that every one which seeth the Son,and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day." In Verse 44 of that Chapter, Jesus said, "No man can come to me, except the Father which has sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day." As a woman I didn't take the "him" part of that personally or with offence, because I understood the context, plus I love and trust him, although I notice that many of you "hims" do seem to do that, along with deciding who is or who is not acceptable to Jesus based on what color they are or how they are dressed or whether they are wealthy or poor or in-between, or countless other nit-picky, joy-sapping soul crushers that Jesus never ever said or endorsed. So I'm not sure how much of a claim on his "Club Favorites" list that particular qualification purchases for the persons who are counting on the fact that they look" more like him " to get them a seat right under Jesus's elbow, where they can look down on those of us riff-raff who don't LOOK anything at all like Jesus, except for being covered in his lifeblood (with which he purchased us and made us his own).
