Rev. Al Green has always been one of my favorite artist. When I was in Memphis last summer I went by his church. Even though there were no service, I took pictures on the grounds and of the building. He can preach as well as he can sing!!! May God continue to bless you Pastor Al Green!🌹🙏🏽👍🏽

He's put on weight but he's not on the road anymore and on stage every night.Nothing eating healthy can't change.He's still a classic.

I went to see him at church. True, he has gained weight and he's two shades darker, but that voice hasn't gone anywhere, still sounding good!

Bishop Green is a blessed man of God ! Thank God he listened to God and came to the place of obedience where he ministers to people from all over the world ! God granted him a platform with his music so he could do just what he's doing. This caliber of man humbled himself to do what he's created to do, no matter the heartbreak or pain. Sometimes things are not what they ought to be but what they must be, Knowing everything works together for the Glory of God ! Hoping and Praying he's happy and whole. A Guy such as this should be ! I didnt sing today at the Fathers Day service. I should of remembered my 25 years of Al Green. I will next time. The Rev. Green threw a rose to my girlfriend at the time in Wilmington NC in 2003. That rose has withered but my love for the music never dies! God bless you sir!!

He still has that soulfulness that made him a household name. Also one of the best soul singers that I ever heard. I just hate the fact that I read he used to beat his wife Shirley for no apartment reason.

He paid for all of that, if she forgave him his children no man on earth is a saint no one is exempt. We can’t judge . He preached it and shared his life publicly.

He looks very different but perhaps God put his mark on him and now he's changed man . Old things has passed away and behold all things are new. He has not only gained a lot of weight but his complexion is much darker. He still has the same voice in his singing though .

Well far as I remember Al Green became. a Reverend shortly afterward his wife. Poured them Hot Grits on him, To this Day. he was called. Al Grits" later on in life. he said the Lord touched him He. didn't say. the Lord saved him, also said. when he was up Preaching. I" don't" know if I'm saved or not.Only God knows and be"s the righteous Judge of our souls.

I'm sorry and remorsefully to say. He is not preaching/teaching. He is merely a motivating speaker. He would have done better to continue to sing and sing gospel music. He is making no sense here. I understand after that incident about his girlfriend suicide or whatever happened in his home he felt the need to make a change. Singing gospel would have been great. Before anyone accuses me of judging him, I am not. If I was not knowledgeable about expository preaching/teaching I would not speak as I am. But this is a mess here. I love him for the effort, but God appoints and anoints the ones he wants to teach/preach. It is extremely important to follow the way of God. Al needs to be a member of true bible teaching church and not trying to pastor a church. I went to James Clevland's church in L.A. one time and this same thing was occurring. God says fed his flock not lead them to the slaughter. For those out there who know what a true Christian Bible scholar is then you know what I'm talking about. I can't help but speak out because in the first five years I set out on my Christian quest I was led WRONG. Thank God he guided me to a true sound doctrine teaching church though.
