I find I listen to this several times a day. Great composition and playing. From the wonderful lyrics sung by Don, to the musical changes and instrumentation, I find this remarkable. Really beautiful. It's moving, full of emotion and in many ways touches the soul's desire. What music should strive to be IMO.
We saw him in concert at the Rochester club in 1981, then again in 1983 in Sanibel, FL with Bat McGrath. That was such a great show! And this concert for the Rochester sesquicentennial at the Eastman Theater was so memorable! I got to meet him and Chuck backstage after the concert. This is a memory that I'll always cherish.
Don hits the notes a bit lower than in the original concert, it still sounds fantastic. I'm struck by both performances, he has phenomenal breath control and singing technique. He fully enunciates every word he sings, and it's a joy to watch and listen.
One of my favorite videos. Don Potter is an amazing talented man.

I would listen to this as a kid growing up in amazement! I'm still amazed! Don Potter's voice was perfect for Chuck's tunes.

Don has a truly amazing voice.
What an honor for Don Potter to play the cherished musical parts of this set for friend and mentor Stanley Watson.
A great guitarist to say the least. RIP

Let's do this Again?? Everyone come back to Rochester for another concert?
I'm sorry to tell everyone that Joropo Piropo sounds 96% like a very old Venezuelan folk song.
Ese concierto fue en 1970.
