Hey James C. welcome to 2014. Imports are running 6 second 1/4 too. They been building v8s for 80 years to get 6s. Toyota did it in 15 years. No disrespect to American cars though. I own a GT and a civic. Honda's don't cost no more to build than a GT. Just easier to work on than Ford.
Look at Nelson's Racing Engines for examples of everyday street engines which produce insane amounts of power. He has a youtube channel too with some cool vids of street tests and dyno runs.

05 06 are called ford gt's. They have a roof height of 44 inches so they can't be called gt40's like their predecessor of the 60's. Also their blocks come from the factory with twin screw superchargers and they are aluminator series high performance crate engines with dual overhead cams. The oil pan is much different, the valves are just a little higher to add some clearance for the modified cams. The ones 5.4l in the pickups and expeditions are same bore and displacement but cast iron blocks with single over head cams. Dual over head cams come in the Lincoln navigator and svt lightning as well.

Electric cars will smash gas everytime. They have maximum torque the instant you flip the switch. Once they get the huge lithium pack prices down you will see some crazy fast times when they wire up 50KWh LiPo packs to dump all the juice in a quarter mile. They use trick speed controllers detecting wheel slip 2500 times a second that maintain the torque right below breaking all 4 wheels loose all the way down the track. That does take most of the skill out of it though.

A driver by the name of Mike Moran in 2006 ran a 6.41 at over 238.00 mph in 2008 he ran 250.00 mph and a 5.90 something in a turbo car that Larry Larson chassis built car,and Mr.2.0 built the engine for that very car, so don't worry Larry Larson will break the 5 sec barrier soon if he hasn't already? I believe he has reading other peoples two cents ,but I will verify it soon!!! I'm not a computer geek!

I like ur statistics. im a stickler for that. you've proven a point at this point. i'll say this in defense of supras. how modified is this car? fully built maybe? how modified are those street legal supras?...im quite sure that those supras r much less modified (aside from massive amount of boost, and minor engine mods, maybe some suspension mods) in comparison to this monster ;)
that's my point :P there aren't any because none of them have 2 whole extra cylinders to run off of. those i6's pushing over 1200 hp is amazing. divide that into 6 and u have 200 hp per cylinder, haha. this v8 would require 1600 hp to be the equivalent. furthermore 2 cylinders is a huge difference. I mean props to this guy and his car. supras do an amazing job for what they r as well.

Electric cars will smash gas everytime. They have maximum torque the instant you flip the switch. Once they get the huge lithium pack prices down you will see some crazy fast times when they wire up 50KWh LiPo packs to dump all the juice in a quarter mile. They use trick speed controllers detecting wheel slip 2500 times a second that maintain the torque right below breaking all 4 wheels loose all the way down the track. That does take most of the skill out of it though.
I already have up-chuck...like I said before...my team has been working on the electric dragster/funny car project for many years and this video proves my point though someone else's eyes.My electric funny car is considerably FASTER then this one.We will not post any vids on it,in time this car will be a NEW standard for the N.H.R.A. and will compete against your dead dinosaur so called top alcohol/top fuel and this video of the experimental electric dragster proves it has already beaten you.
