what a nice car, its done right, bet you could drive it on vacation too, sounds very stable and durable, the blue flame spitting down is badass too. it almost set the track on fire lol makes me sad to see the stands empty tho, why do people not do this anymore, in the 70s you couldnt get a seat. nice car, nice work
Why is it that Guys who buy all the Speed they have are such mouthy Richard Noggins and the Ones that actually build their own Speed are polite and unassuming Ladies and Gentlemen?????
Respect sir, respect. People that build there own car have appreciation for what they put their hard work, sweat, and tears in to, and it shows in their attitude when they sit behind the wheel and drive the thing. People who pay for their car never form a bond with it and a appreciation for their car because they didn't work hard to get it.
This car is geared for the quarter, change the gearing and no super car could ever touch it. But that is stupid as this is a drag car, and comparing super cars to drag cars is retarded. They each serve a purpose. Thats like arguing that your orange tastes more like an orange than my apple, it just doesn't make sense. Stop over thinking things you are going to hurt yourself.
Anyone know what states in our country will allow you to drive cars like this on public roads? awesome car.. I would move out of california just to experience that.
Move a little north... I have a friend that drives his lil 69 Camaro on the street, it has gone 8.32 @ 180... I have another friend that drives his lil C-10 pickup on the street, it has gone 9.00, I can't remember the MPH...
sexyitalian891 I'm glad the YT community is here solely to make sure your stupid ass is impressed. Thank you for showing us how much we all care about impressing you.. Looks like we need to go back to the drawing board. What a loser lol.
***** And yet the car the guy you mentioned ran in is far from street legal, he won't be driving that home. Sal's viper is full interior, weighs 3700+lbs, and can be driven home after he's done at the strip. I know Larry Larson's car is street legal as well, but its interior is stripped and he still needs slicks and a wheelie bar to run in the 6's. Maybe there isn't really that big of a diff between slicks and radials? Just seems like, with the addition of slicks and wheelie bar, in my head, he should be a half second or so ahead of that Viper I mentioned considering he traps higher mph.
I have answered questions about this Mustang. It produces about 1,800 foot pounds of torque through out its power band. The transmission is a Tremec 8 speed Rockcrusher and gets an average of 22 miles per gallon (pump gas 89 octane) due to its tremendous torque output.
I said at least more then 3 times that funny cars SHOULD have their engines behind the driver...why is this fact so hard for you to understand??. You are proving my point without even realizing it...LOL!!.
and after that run he drove to the mall for shoes. I think he wore holes in them trying to stop after that one! .. that was just super...Larry you da man!
One day I’m turning my Ford Ranger into a sleeper. Be like the Farm truck. No one will ever see it coming. One Day. Lol. Thanks for sharing. That was awesome.
It's not about how much horse power that you have,is not about how many cylinders that you have,it's about how efficiently your drivetrain is,this wins the war in any drag race.
05 06 are called ford gt's. They have a roof height of 44 inches so they can't be called gt40's like their predecessor of the 60's. Also their blocks come from the factory with twin screw superchargers and they are aluminator series high performance crate engines with dual overhead cams. The oil pan is much different, the valves are just a little higher to add some clearance for the modified cams. The ones 5.4l in the pickups and expeditions are same bore and displacement but cast iron blocks with single over head cams. Dual over head cams come in the Lincoln navigator and svt lightning as well.
Lots of street cars go to a drag strip, remove their mufflers and put on slicks. The shot of him driving in the rain had the street setup. The point of the completion he was in (if it is what I have seen on TV) is that these very quick cars must also drive hundreds of miles to the next race destination making them true street driven cars.
I have to say, I'm a fan of import cars more than American Muscle (Just personal preference). But after seeing the video of the Supra drag car by Kanoo racing and comparing it to this vid...I prefer this car. This car just feels like it has more soul. Totally badass.
You're only little friend that used to be out here to take your side Chuck junior( Remember chuckbucket?) So far YOU are the only rambler out here. Like I said before you don't know your left from your right so forget about judging anybody, because you can't even judge yourself.
I always watch these hard core 1/4 mile cars and they always look quicker on video than the time shows.... the way this car was hauling according to my eyes I would have guessed its like a 5 second car....
Australia might have some contenders soon...Joe Gueci's cortina is running 7.1sec @202mph...his car isnt tubbed yet either.. with the bonnet/hood closed, it just looks like a tuff streeter.
Driving a 6 second monster with meaty slicks in the rain. Damn lol. I remember having a shitty time driving nitto T05's on my lightning in the rain. Slightest bit of incline on the road barley touching the gas my ass end was kicking out.
It's only in certain states. On slicks and no catylitic converters here in Texas is asking for a ticket. The roll cage will attract a lot of attention from both civilians and police. Tubbed rear is fine and links are also fine. Technically this car only has to pass safety inspection anyway, so it's still pretty easy to keep this street legal.
Hey James C. welcome to 2014. Imports are running 6 second 1/4 too. They been building v8s for 80 years to get 6s. Toyota did it in 15 years. No disrespect to American cars though. I own a GT and a civic. Honda's don't cost no more to build than a GT. Just easier to work on than Ford.
larry you are the man I must say he leaves nothing on the table at the tree hes got his foot planted in the gas before the launch. nice pass no doubt!!!
Love the launches...straight as an arrow. Clearly a very well prepared and set up car!
Down to Earth , humble and totally bad ass. Props buddy.
freiburger and finnegan from roadkill at 2:19 on the left LOL cant believe i spoted that lol.
Hunter Smith And when Finnegan was still sporting the gottee
Gravitycat24 hahahaha
holy crap lol
holy shit your right! Go roadKill!!
Oh shit it really is!!!
Hes awesome coz he drove it there like a BOSS
It’s drag week. No trailer queens allowed
Pretty bold looking car if you ask me, 6.95 @ 209mph for a street car is phenomenal mate.
You'll always be my favorite Larry Larson ! Excellent !
That is sooo cool.
I wish to have a proper american muscle car one day, a Hemi Cuda or something less expensive but HUGE engine.
Coulda ran a 5 without Rick Ross jr. in the car
😂😂😂😂😂
I'm proud to say I was there. It felt like the world stopped just to witness that. What a memorable pass and appropriate ending to DW.
what a nice car, its done right, bet you could drive it on vacation too, sounds very stable and durable, the blue flame spitting down is badass too. it almost set the track on fire lol makes me sad to see the stands empty tho, why do people not do this anymore, in the 70s you couldnt get a seat. nice car, nice work
so cool. can't even imagine the time and work that went into building this monster. thanks for sharing.
Always lived Larry and Jeff Lutz also. True competitors. And Larry took the time to sign that lil boys hat and shirt. That's awesome
Why is it that Guys who buy all the Speed they have are such mouthy Richard Noggins and the Ones that actually build their own Speed are polite and unassuming Ladies and Gentlemen?????
Amen Robert, amen.
@@jimmylee8195 Those who buy their own happiness didn’t experience the journey, but those who build their own happiness are humbled by the experience.
That's Larry Larson hell of a nice guy. I have meet him
WOW!,, that is faster than my internet connection! ^_^
Awesome..!!!!! Lenco in action . Never get tired of that.
Drives to the track. SO AWESOME!!!!!!
Good to see you take time for your young fans also.
.
I have not seen many cars that hook up quite that well...that car just freakin slingshots out of the hole like a bat outta hell!!! NICE RUN MAN!!!
Mike Finnegan at 1:05
Haha, seeing him made my day for some reason
Finnegan and freiburger
Jacque Noir
I think I can take this guy in my truck!
9 years ago and here’s 1320 all over it. Amazing
WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T BUY A FUCKING VOLVO !!!
That's American muscle for yea
Proud to say Larry is a fellow Missourian.
Fastest Street legal car in the 1/4 mile... not top speed.
it would have to be a very long road for a super car to catch up though
Im not talking about stock production vehicles though.
Stop over thinking things you are going to hurt yourself.
that car is street legal till' you get pull over
Its a street legal car.
They just can't grasp it. It shows what little they know. Street legal bitches, get educated!
The power and the set up is what makes it fast. It doesn't matter what kind of sheet metal it is wrapped with.
thats not streeet legal it even has drag tires on it '.'
Pretty sure you can swap wheels on or off the track sherlock.
Ben Dover Sal Patels Dodge Viper runs 6.98 at 207 on Drag Radials with no wheelie bar. This car doesn't impress me at all.
sexyitalian891 so does life impress you or nah?
sexyitalian891 I'm glad the YT community is here solely to make sure your stupid ass is impressed. Thank you for showing us how much we all care about impressing you.. Looks like we need to go back to the drawing board. What a loser lol.

4c's are better then v8's my friend has a Honda Civic with headers & a twin turbo engine it's really fast but it only has one seat so I sit on his lap
I would sit in his lap too if I drove a honda
Pure awesomeness. Seems like a humble winner too.
I seen this car in person. It’s one violent beast.
I love the "run what you brung" theme. A REAL street/strip car!
Sweet pass, congrats on your 6.95. From something that can be street driven is like totally awesome :) Thumbs up from me for sure.

Larson is just the coolest dude, shame he didn't compete this year :(
That might be the coolest shot of turbo anti-lag I've ever seen!!
I said at least more then 3 times that funny cars SHOULD have their engines behind the driver...why is this fact so hard for you to understand??. You are proving my point without even realizing it...LOL!!.
Driving in the rain on slicks, sounds like fun!
Sweet , . I am actually a Mopar guy but would love to have this car .
If you look closely, he is getting up to the sensor, the staging lights come on when he goes forward.
and after that run he drove to the mall for shoes. I think he wore holes in them trying to stop after that one! .. that was just super...Larry you da man!
No fibre glass shell hear. True to form street legal car ran by a down to earth legend!
One day I’m turning my Ford Ranger into a sleeper. Be like the Farm truck. No one will ever see it coming. One Day. Lol. Thanks for sharing. That was awesome.
Dude is a great racer
Living the dream right there man!
Wow that car is totally awsome...street legal and a driver that's even better...old cars are the best...
Heck yea ! Great run ! Thumbs up and liked !!!!!
I've been talking to YOU the whole time. The rear engine funny cars STILL race, like I've said before, they race mostly in private clubs, like I do.
Larry is a mad man!!!!!!!!!!!
Individual shifters for each gear. That's insane and awesome!
I've been busy watching him on street outlaws and no prep kings
Sure as hell isn't a street car with those slicks, but MY GOD how friggin' awesome!!! LOVE this car!!!
Larry Larson for President!
on that 6 second pass he didn't even launch that good had some wicked tire spin that car is bad azz he spent money right

I just watched some sweet vids of modded gtrs running consistent 8's....then I seen this and realized North American cars will always be my home.
he drives it all the time... i live in MO by him he drove it street driven more then you can imagine.
Great video.
Check out the 2009 Dragweek winner- John Huber in his Ford Mustang 4 Cyl- street car- Ran against big blocks and beat out the big boys.
"dude that was fuckin' awesome"😂😍👍
.
I have to say, I'm a fan of import cars more than American Muscle (Just personal preference). But after seeing the video of the Supra drag car by Kanoo racing and comparing it to this vid...I prefer this car. This car just feels like it has more soul.

Bloody hell, that is one strong car!

Nice car, hard work, pay off.... Fast Nova.. No doubt.
Good job.

Wow, what a boss! Congrats!
They is a 6 cylinder Mustang that has turn in 5.15 in a quarter on pump gas and also street legal and gets about 20-22 m.p.g.highway.
Guys, don't argue. Be friends, the end is near.
Wow so many idiots arguing in the comments lol. Just enjoy the video! Who cares if it's the fastest or not, it's freakin' awesome!
I don't care what you drive, any street car running 10's or quicker deserves major creds, domestic or import.
wow! You guys have it good over there! Thats awesome.
Driving a 6 second monster with meaty slicks in the rain. Damn lol. I remember having a shitty time driving nitto T05's on my lightning in the rain. Slightest bit of incline on the road barley touching the gas my ass end was kicking out.
Driving to each track? That's fucking awesome
I like how larry drives this Nova around town like it;s nothing.
Back in the day, 6 seconds was king , not today, waiting for true 5 second Street everyday drivin car , it's coming
That exhaust coming out the back is awesome just saying
CHRIS FARLEY YOURE BACK
never seen a 7 second car drive down the street SICK!

His car (Big Jim Dunn) is named DUNN/REATH a 1972 Cuda.
Tom Bailey did 5.77 a year ago in Florida way over 210 after driving 800 miles!!Then he threw the chutes in the car and went for some ice cream!
I can't believe he drove that car to the track and ran that! That car doesn't look that impressive, but holy shit! That thing is a lightning bolt!
Andy Frost from the UK is now the fastest street car in the world at 6.506 sec and 226.91 mph
Andy frost from UK ran 6.59 in his victor3 but no proof of how streetable it really is. 1200 miles is amazing
Just keep on believing what's on the NET chuck...your doing good!!.
Again more I read the more I see your aggravation. Your language is harsh but your points are valid.
well done ! very impressive.
I want to see Larry Larson build a car to run the Texas mile I could only admagin the speed he'd obtain Go Larry go!!!!!!!
Larry has gone in the 5's with his new truck...
Insane Fast.
Sweet
