The intro is such fun to play. The little diddy on the Am is a treat.
the stone specials are just. so. special.
2007 Chicago, one of the best live performances of any song ever
one of my favorite things about PJ is that out of thousands of options, people have exact favorite performances of songs :)
After a bakers dozen of near misses on my bizzard-e flippin' drive to work... this golden nugget made my morn... nailed it buddy....as always.
yesssssss :) Glad you made it safe!
6:18 i love watching your videos i'm not even holding my guitar 😂
:) thanks sharps!
Awesome! I've always played it with a capo on 4 but could never get the intro to sound like the very beginning of the studio version. This version is cool to play too and seems like you got that chunky intro from the record down. What are your thoughts on this way versus capo on 4. I think I've seen Stone use a capo on some videos.
well yeah, I'm watching the live performances and it seems he's got his guitar tuned funny and with a capo on the 4th fret, because how else would he put his finger on (Relative the capo) fret 3 and achieve a G# bass note? More research needs to be done there, and I'll probably revisit it someday :) I would just need to spend more time than I have now on that problem. And I can't wait to.
I think the studio version is different from the way Stone plays it live now. At least the very beginning. That's my non-professional opinion.
I think we have to ask Stone. I'll ask him for you when he comes to my sleepover I'm hosting
Great lesson as always. I would certainly appreciate a lesson for “Last Exit.”
Your comment sparked a major last exit breakthrough in me yesterday and I think I've got it all figured out for the first time ever on this planet :)
Ryan Lendt wonderful! Can’t wait.
I love this song Ryan, thank you! Hey is the solo noob-able?
Dang, I tried to record the solo video yesterday and it just wasnt happening. I think I was waiting for you to ask :) I'll attack it today again for you! It's very noob-able :)
Woot! There's hope for me! Thank you sir!
This is a great birthday present
Happy Birthday yesterday!!!
Hey friend! Great song! Great lesson as always. You gonna add Mike’s insane awesome lead? Like the one from Benaroya Hall live acoustic show they did in 2003? Come on man! You can even wear your beard
hahaha Ms. poopadoop is the theory teacher not the shredder! I think that monumental task is one to tackle in 10 weeks (wink wink wink)
Thanks so much Ryan, awesome!
you're so welcome T!
Great as always!
Thanks Connor!
Does Stone play a 410? I know he typically plays a Taylor.
i bet stone has lots and lots and lots of taylors :) I bet there's a decent chance one of them is a 410 - it's not the fanciest of the fancy... after the 4 line they start getting a little too fancy for my tastes with too many shiny things stuck to them
As always, fantastic guitar lesson! Can I request another band? I really want to learn some Weezer songs, especially from their blue album and pinkerton (the best Weezer albums!). Thanks a lot!!!!
I've been in a constant state of disbelief that absolutely no one has requested weezer over the course of 18 months. Yes please! Which song shall we start with??
The song 'Pink Triangle' means a lot to me, so it would be amazing to start with that one! :-D And what?!?! No one ever requested a Weezer song yet?!?!
Pink triangle on the list friendly friend :) I think I'm gonna wait on that one until I get a proper distortion pedal to do it justice!
Great lesson!
Thanks green pal!
Hahaha!
I need to change my UA-cam name to Kermit!
everyone needs to change their youtube name to kermit
Or Froger! Lol Thinkng about it I like Froger better then Kermit. I’m talking the characters not the names. But Kermit is cool:) I thinks its like a who is your favorite Beatle when it comes to Froger and kermit haha! I can’t think of any other famous frogs?
Jeez..just saw this one. Great work man, such a great song. And sadly I'm not related to miss Poopoodoo :(
hahahaha welcome to the party Lambis, very distant cousin of ms poopadoop :)
Thank you!!
You're welcome!
Dude thanks again. Any chance of a video for dollar bill. I've figured out the chords but need the solo man.
whoaaaa i haven't thought about that song in a million years. It's on the list!
Ryan Lendt cheers dude
I think its capo on 4
well yeah, I'm watching the live performances and it seems he's got his guitar tuned funny and with a capo on the 4th fret, because how else would he put his finger on (Relative the capo) fret 3 and achieve a G# bass note? More research needs to be done there. Having said that, the voicings you end up with this way are spot on, I do believe :)
May i have wish? Please do PJ Help Help
Awesome request!!
Dude !!! Save the guitar stories for the tour of your collection! What’s the matter with u!!!😂😂😂
haha I'm strategically putting in ones that i know won't be there for the collection tour :) Elizabeth the Taylor lives at home, not at the studio, unless I need it for a particular purpose :)
Ryan Lendt lol. You’re the man Ryan. Seriously. Great teacher and an awesome personality. It’s a shame we’re on opposite ends of the US we would Jam for hours.
It'll happen!!!
Ryan Lendt I really hope so. If you’re ever in NY please hit me up. I’ll pay for the studio time. 🤙🏼
When my children were born I thought I had a purpose in this world. I was complete. But then as they got older and the world kept turning. I felt a void but when you said you were doing this song for me. I felt complete again. Thanks Ryan
Same chords as Karma Police
which part of karma police?
Just the beginning Am - Am/F#
Your dad's name is David.
ohhhhhh!
Holy moly you mick around on this video blowing wind
Can you redo but simple and serious
SOMEBODY'S gotta get the sailboat to shore :)
@@RyanLendt hey mate sorry if I was grumpy but also thanks for your help. But yeah the vids kinda all over the shop
no worries Jack, it's just the internet :) I'm glad you were able to sift out what you needed
@@RyanLendt I'm not finished with it yet buddy I'm fussy but I can't find decent written music and I lack in time to listen and learn like I did for yellow ledbetter which also has been written down well
