Great and useful video for people new to shipping. I've gotten too many card orders packaged horribly wrong, to the point where the card is damaged while unpacking.
Love the video and I thought I wouldn't learn anything (I ship about 400 packages a year) but sure enough...that folding technique on the bubble wrapper I have NEVER seen! Brilliant man, thank you for the knowledge! Definitely going to be using that going forward!
So if I’m shipping 3-5 cards I’ll put them in the card saver to save weight. The lop loaders weigh so much more when it comes to the under 1oz per stamp rule. So I learned with singles or even 2 cards top loaders are fine. You can do 3 cards in card savers and still stay right under 1oz for 1 stamp.
True. Card savers offer less protection( they’re less stiff ) than a top loader though. So take that and the value of what your shipping into consideration.

@@DrApplesauceTwo i’m trying to figure out a safe protected way to fit a single booster pack in an envelope with stamps on it. It definitely can be done. Thanks for the response!
Card should be placed upside down in the top loader. 1 inch approx. strip of tape partially attached to the most outter edge of the card sleeve, then excess to be folded in itself to create an easy strip to pull out card in sleeve from top loader.
If you're just mailing out singles....could you just throw a stamp on that 6x10 and mail it out via usps? or if you use 6x10's do you have to formally ship them? i called the post office and they're telling me it would cost 12 bucks to ship something this small. insane! Thanks for the video!!!
No you can’t put a stamp on a 6x10 it’s too big. The way I showed it in the video, and using pirateship.com and printing your own label, you can usually ship anything up to 10 or more cards for around $5 as long as it’s shipping in the US
Oof I’ve sold and sent out like 10 cards in toploads in an envelope 😱… Also, still have to wait in line just to deliver my mail (don’t trust slipping it in the box or leaving it wherever they ask me) plus I like to know that they actually received it and I got the receipt in hand to show any buyers if anything happened that it was hand delivered to the people and after that it’s their responsibility, doesn’t mean I won’t help out still (I’ve received a card in an envelope too, got here perfect)
Yup! The only problem is you either have to wait around all day for them to show up, or pay to make an appointment. Unless your shipping a TON of boxes, sometimes its easier to just go and drop the packages off

The label from eBay had tracking but my wife put it in the outgoing mail from her office... then no update for like 10 days and the buying initiated a refund from eBay. If I bring it to the post office and wait in line and ship it does the status get updated immediately? My problem was it kept showing "label generated" or something like that... no record of USPS ever receiving it, then one day it just said "delivered".
Price per card? You can’t really quantify that. I can ship a 5oz bubble envelope with multiple ( 5+ ) top loaded cards in it for $5 and that includes shipping and materials.
I buy sports cards and they come in transparent cases. I want to sell some cards and use the cases to keep them protected during shipping however anytime I put the cards in sleeves and go to put them in the cases they don't fit. @@DrApplesauceTwo oh I kept the packaging they came in from the company it consists of a plastic transparent case (some of them have a foam rectangle in them for cushioning), a cardboard foldy box thing that the case gets put into which is wrapped in bubble wrap and then put into the envelope
Great video for shipping singles! I'm going to be mailing out about 5 of the Trick or Trade Halloween Booster Packs and am wondering if sending them out via bubble mailer + cardboard backing/structure will be something I can ship for under $4. :)
Do you buy shipping labels for your thermal printer? I've seen that you can get them for free from USPS/UPS but I'm not sure what stipulations there are for their use.
It’s typically en estimate based off what value of the cards is. I know $5 covers shipping of anything like this, and if it’s extra valuable and needs insurance or a box I know $10 usually covers that. If it’s someone I know personally I’ll show them the exact shipping cost.
Can I ask what the max is the card would have to be before using a box? When you say crazy expensive, what’s that number that makes you say okay this one gets a box, not the padded envelope? Just curious.
@@DrApplesauceTwo gotcha gotcha. I have a small collection left to get rid of but most are under $20, with a dozen or so $20-$30 range. Nothing too expensive. Thanks for all your advice as always!

Do you buy shipping labels for your thermal printer? I've seen that you can get them for free from USPS/UPS but I'm not sure what stipulations there are for their use.
Yes I do, usps isn’t handing out thermal self adhesive labels for free.
@@DrApplesauceTwo Turns out UPS does.
Will you be doing another Vstar box break?
I’m not sure if more is coming! I’m waiting to see.
This video is awesome!

What about selling cheap cards in the $1-$3 range? Using toploaders for each of those seems expensive. Say someone bought 3 $1.50 cards from you.
I have the same question
use a plain white envelope with toploaders
So how much do you charge for shipping? Since you are in for like 75c-$1 for supplies and then add shipping.
It’s typically en estimate based off what value of the cards is. I know $5 covers shipping of anything like this, and if it’s extra valuable and needs insurance or a box I know $10 usually covers that. If it’s someone I know personally I’ll show them the exact shipping cost.
@@DrApplesauceTwo I appreciate the help and explanation. Thank you!
Happy to help!
I heard if your a seller you need to save the digital receipts for taxes?! How do you set that up
I mean, you want proof of your expenses and purchases.
Can I ask what the max is the card would have to be before using a box? When you say crazy expensive, what’s that number that makes you say okay this one gets a box, not the padded envelope? Just curious.
Probably like $50. The cost difference in shipping from box to envelope is probably only $2-$3
@@DrApplesauceTwo gotcha gotcha. I have a small collection left to get rid of but most are under $20, with a dozen or so $20-$30 range. Nothing too expensive. Thanks for all your advice as always!
Do you think buying insurance when shipping expensive Pokémon cards is worth it or is it a scam?
100% worth it as it protects YOU the seller.
What’s the cheapest way to sell a lot of 100 cards?
Honestly? Probabaly sell it as a lot with a discount on Facebook, or take them to a game store
I need the shirt you are wearing. Great video btw
