You guys do THE BEST film content on UA-cam. Been binging your content lists recently. Already made a few purchases based on your recommendations. Good work, boys!!
25:03 The Ninth Gate is insanely underrated!!! 1:16:38 The Thirteenth Warrior has one of the best scenes ever filmed when they all say the warrior's prayer towards the end.
You guys need to do some studying. Hilary swank won best actress. Annette Benning has been nominated many of times but hasn't won. Also talented Mr Ripley was not nominated for best picture. The 5 nominations were American beauty, cider house rules, the green mile, the insider and the sixth sense. Matrix took 4 Oscars visual effects, film editing, sound and sound editing and the red violin took home original score.
I love Michael Caine but cmon how does he beat Tom Cruise that year for the Oscar. When I first saw magnolia he blew me away! I think it’s some of his best acting ever. I think the academy couldn’t look past his superstardom for the win
My coworker said all Michael Caine can play is Michael Caine! I mean I love the guy, but Tom Cruise in Magnolia blew all the other competitors out of the water, a really interesting against type performance in a drama film he hasn’t really done in a long time since.
I just love your good humor, though many movies just remind us that were gonna die, everybody; Hahahah!!!And dying is just a blessing in disguise;Cause this cant,i say c a n t go on!!!
Hey Lost Podcast, youre a fresh breath, youre new to me,and you say so good things about my similar taste as you two have, Awesome, dont you think!?Youll never go down unnoticed,i can promise you that;At least from me!
It was also the year that a famous Alpine Singer and Yodeller in Bavaria, Germany began performing less and less and 1999 was his last performance Meanwhile in Russia, it was the year the chechens came out of the sewers to defy the Russian government
1. The green album your thinking of is not Smash Mouth, but Chumbawamba. 2. Both of you need to learn what irony is. Because you both misuse it in this podcast. UNSUBSCRIBE :P

I was chatting to a work colleague about films of 1999 and how good they were, we suspect they had to get all the great movies out before Y2K!! In fact Stuart Little which came out that year was the first movie I remember seeing in the theatres when I was 2. My favourites from 1999 are The Matrix, Fight Club and Magnolia!
@@raidersofthelostpodcast_ yeah that as well I guess! Also the fact that during the 90’s all the independent studios came up and the multiplex cinemas wanted more movies to put on their screens! So more demand for independent mid-budget productions that would be seen via word-of-mouth at the water cooler.
“Wild Wild West” is the movie that came out the day I was born. That’s unfortunate
For me it was 3 days into the run of Allan Quartermain and the Lost City of Gold 😂
The amount of movies I have added to my watchlist because of this episode is insane. Thanks guys
Happy to help!

Miyazaki's "My Neighbors the Yamatas" is a good one to add to the animation category, it's one of my favorite Ghibli films.

You missed "Go" - I remember back in1999 putting that one on my top 10 list.
How do 1957, probably the greatest year for film in history
I absolutely LOVE The Matrix- one of the greatest films ever made! 10 Things I Hate About You is also my fav high school romcom!

I love Michael Caine but cmon how does he beat Tom Cruise that year for the Oscar. When I first saw magnolia he blew me away! I think it’s some of his best acting ever. I think the academy couldn’t look past his superstardom for the win

James we can have a matrix themed wedding, you can go as Neo and I can go as Niobe 😂
Only if we blast the Zion house music the whole time!
We can have whatever music you want 🥰😂

Meanwhile in Russia, it was the year the chechens came out of the sewers to defy the Russian government
In the movie Boys Don’t Cry, it’s not that Hilary Swank was trying to act like a boy, she was trans masculine 🤗
