My uncle was 62 and my aunt was 54 when they had their 1st child. They had their second 3 years later. It was not the best situation for the kids as they aged. Years of teasing at school and as time went by it was so much harder for my aunt and uncle to cope. Luckily they were wealthy enough to hire help, but the kids still were effected by it all. When the youngest turned 18 my uncle was 80 and my aunt was 72.
Yeah, I am thinking about that too. Although there is nothing wrong about that, it's just very uncommon. 🙂
Kids will ask, are they your grandparents? Then there is also this wide generational gap. Not going to be easy.
Thats true cos kids love to tease other kids who have aged looking parents
@@margaretchong1450 Those kids will also like to joke if the ageing parents are actually adopted parents
I’ll like to share my story. My father married late when he was 48. Despite his age, he was still youthful looking at that time. He had his first child when he was 49 after marrying my mom who was 20 years younger than him.
Then they went on to have 6 children. 😅 When we were in primary school, my dad was already in his sixties and his hair already turned white. All my classmates would say my dad was my grandpa whenever he visited my school. We grew up into adulthood with people around us asking why our dad was so old. I must say we were not much affected at all and would gladly introduce him as our dad. However when my mom was in her fifties and my dad was in his seventies, she felt embarrassed and would refuse to go out with my dad as her friends mocked at her for having such an old man for a husband.
My father was the best father I could have although he had us late. He knew it wasn’t easy to father children and raise so many of us when he was almost reaching retirement age. Fortunately he was financially sound and we didn’t have any monetary issues. He kept himself active and exercised everyday to stay healthy so he can have the energy to keep up with 6 children. He made sure all 6 of us go as far as tertiary education in our local universities and get good jobs to provide for ourselves.
While we were growing up, he didn’t take a cent from the government to provide bursaries and financial aid. He paid for everything using his income and savings. We never received private tuition at all but did well in school. Some of my siblings went on to receive PSC scholarships because of their excellent academic performance. My father was really amused but grateful to the government.
Now we’re all grown up and married with families. Even my husband’s grandmother was the same age as my father. My dad passed away at 91. He was the best father I could ever have. He is a good testimony that anyone can be a great parent even when they are advanced in years and still have a full and fruitful life like any young parents. Although he did not get to enjoy his grandchildren, he had fought the good fight, fulfilled all responsibilities a parent should and led a meaningful and full life. His legacy will live on with us. ❤
Congratulations! Hope to see a new addition to the family in about 5 months' time.
Congratulations 🎉 Personally, I have witnessed the sacrifice my wife had to endure undergoing through miscarriages, IUI and IVF. It was definitely not an easy journey. Hats off to every women and mums out there, especially those undergoing IVF. Salute!

Congratulations! Never too late to be parents! 👍
I am happy for them. I hope that the baby will be born healthy.
It will be challenging for them due to their age. But I'm sure with the love and support, they will make it. Congratulations 😊
Do u think thats fair to the child when growing up ?
@bobafett5757 They waited so long for this child and they will definitely love this child so there is no "fair" or "unfair" unless is unplanned pregnancy and they are not going to love this child.
Wonderful. Congratulations. 🎉🎉🎉
Praying for a smooth delivery and all the best to both of you.

im 35 and i feel sad that my parents are aging. they had me when they were 27.
Don’t worry. Children born to older parents will develop thick skin when they are younger because other kids can be mean. And nothing is forever
Wishing you the strength to pull through this journey.

“Hope springs Eternal and Hope is a huge Motivator“ so true.
Delighted to hear your wonderful Baby News, Glenda & Justin. I certainly HOPE that all goes well with your pregnancy and child birth Glenda.
I was there during your very first Live Cross on TV, standing beside the camera, to remind you to breathe. And I’m excited to see your baby take his first breath when he finally makes his grand entrance into our rather Messy but still Magical World. Just remember to breathe, breathe and breathe Glenda. With all my love and blessings, Rebecca xxx
