Hello Rik. I can't believe that you keep bringing out these recipes that I've never tried in my life. I've got so many to try. Keep up the fabulous work
Rik, I would just like to say that with your calm and laid back attitude in the kitchen I’m sure you have inspired many people to have a go at recipes that they would have not thought they could attempt, love this recipe and will be having a go 😋
Yes! I am one of them! We have just bought a Hysapientia Oven so we can copy recipes perfectly! We searched for a year for a good chef who was calm and collected and always delivers the goods - that is Rik x
Good morning, chef Rik . I decided to make your cornbeef hash recipe for dinner today. I just couldn't wait to make it and I just watched the video yesterday. 😂. Thank you for all the wonderful recipes you share with us. God bless you. 🙏❤
'Rubbish tomatoes' an allowance for clumsiness, making it up as you go along, and a little chuckle as you take another fork full to end the video. A man after my own heart Rick, perfect presentation as fas as I'm concerned! 😂
Keema! My favorite Indian dish to eat with a chapati or puri. Yes, and put in a pie crust. Will be making this later today. Would love your take on pasties, sausage rolls, Aussie meat pies and potato scallops. Lived in Surfer's Paradise and Coomera back i the '60's and still very sentimental about these foods. -- Ft. Worth, Texas
@@fayemurphy7638 Thank you so much, Faye!!!!! I miss Lamingtons as well. Australia is such a wonderful country. Can't believe the skyline of Brisbane and the coastal cities nearby. Unbelievable.
Wow. That looks amazing. The cucumber and yoghurt side, looks nice too. I love the top of your pie. I can't wait to try it. Homemade pies are the best. Thanks, Rik. Have a great week.
Hi Rik…I’ve never travelled out of the US, so I really appreciate all of the diverse dishes from different countries! It’s very interesting to see different recipes, thank you! ❤
Brilliant, so glad you done that, I dont put peas in mine , but I do add a tin of butter beans now and again, and a big yes with the chips. Proper grub Rik
Another fabulous pie! Thanks Rik.. I cant use beef, but will try it with minced lamb as I love the spices you put in there. And you said ‘not too hot’ so that suits me fine! ❤❤❤
Looks absolutely delish! I love Indian style cooking. I think peas could have gone perfectly with the raita, after all there's mint in there. But its fine as it is. I'm making for myself some beef and broccoli tonight with an added bell pepper and mushrooms. Looking forward to it already.😋
😋 Looks terrific, Rik, I’ll definitely give it a try 😋 I love the little squares of puff pastry on top - I’d never have thought of that - so simple yet effective. I like the way you’ve crimped the edge of the shortcrust, but I think I would have folded it down onto the mince before sticking the squares to the edges. Best wishes from Granny Johnson in Scotland. 😊
Oh my goodness! I bet it smells good over there! Those tiny chili's probably provide as much sting as Arizona's little scorpions. Thanks for leaving the peas out and serving them on the side. 😎
Got one of your keema's out of the freezer today for tomorrow, happened to buy ready made pastry for Eccles cakes, so change of recipe tomorrow. Yippee. Just need to make the raita! Thanks Rik, most timely!
I'm plant-based so I'll be swopping out the meat, but everything else looks great! I love a good pie, with mash potatoes and MORE peas... and a nice gravy or - in this case - perhaps some peach chutney. Yum!
The putting of puff pastry top in different way shows the art of a true cook. A natural with foods and understanding of the enjoyment of eating is chef Rik. Long may we all enjoy trying his receipes and best of all consume. 😘 With family and friends. 👌
Hi Rik! This recipe is right down my alley. Next to Thai food, I love Indian food! I have a curry leaf plant. Do you think a few curry leaves tossed in would taste nice? Just wondering.
Oo Rik fantastic looking pie I love your fancy free style top 👌definitely one I will be trying and I love raita so fresh and cooling , thank you 🥧Amanda xx
I wish I could enjoy this dish. I've tried foods with curry about half a dozen times. They always taste intensely delicious for the first 5 or 10 minutes. And intense, for me, is the key word. Then, for some reason, I become nauseated at the flavor to the point that I can't be in the house with the aroma. I've even had to change my shirt because of residual aroma. I cook with many herbs. I grow herbs. I love herbs and seasonings from around the world. There are few I dislike, and there are still many I've never tasted. But there must be something in curry I'm hypersensative to. Has anyone else had this experience with curry or other seasonings? But this looks like a great recipe for those who can enjoy it! Thanks for the video!
Wow Rik, you never fail to produce a good meal. I no sooner catchup on your videos then you upload another, top man. Thank you Rik, you are the best 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Wow, this recipe comes with a warning.😛 We handle chillies almost everyday, and it never bothers us. But one has to be carefull around children. Im trying this with mutton mince. Thank you .Cheers.👍👍❤
You do encourage flexibility. I had to be a bit flexible with the strawberry gelatin cheesecake. It was finished off quickly at July 4th party. Deelicious
Rik - I have a question about the Keema pie, the mint and cucumber raita is that a traditional thing to serve with the pie or is it just a salad? Is the pie good without or with anything else? I can’t see my other half eating the mint and cucumbers , he is kinda picky. We live in a small New Mexico town , not much curry around this part of the world.. so I’ve not really had much other than Chinese curry myself, which is a concentrate that I use ,so I’m unsure about what some of those spices you added, could a madras already blended curry powder work ? I don’t think we have Garam Marsala or the other spice you mentioned.
Sorry I’m a bit late watching, having terrible internet connection problems atm!🙄😩😤 What a great looking pie 🥧😋, was fascinated watching your ‘patchwork’ puff pastry lid come together & have to say it looks fantastic 😍 … bravo chef - very impressive presentation for an unusual pie!👍👌 Look forward to trying this one, as must confess I’ve never tried Keema Curry before. 🍛 As always thank you for sharing, your raita looks amazing & would never have thought of serving it with a pie - genius!. 👨🍳😋👌
Hi Rik, I agree about salad tomatoes not having any flavour , the only ones I do buy are either Sainsbury's or M&S organic ones they're a bit pricey but they taste good and as there's only me who eats them it ok 👍
I’m not a savory pie person, but it looked lovely.I made lamb keema aloo last week, with Kalijeera rice,a small basmati type rice from Bangladesh,it was very good.I like to use panch Phoron, a five spice mix from Bangladesh, I don’t know if you have tried it,I like it a lot.Especially good in Masoor dhal.😊
Ah, man! wish I could smell them👌😋 love a keema!but in a pie? Hell yeah!!! superb Rikmeister!
Oh yeah! This is a real belter mate. Thank you. Best, Rik

Lovely! Thank you. Best, Rik
Fry the turkey first and when done add two Oxo's and fry for another minute or two and you can barely taste the difference from beef.

Everything the same - cook the fat out of the lamb - if not it will be greasy and too much fluid for the pasty to deal with. Thank you. Best, Rik
