Swiss Yodeling

So one day I am driving through what is now my home town of Himmelried. It's a small village with a little bakery, town office, a farm stand, a restaurant, a bus stop and (as if God herself knew I was coming) a brewery. Imagine that, a little brewery about the size of my living room pumping out about 200 gallons a week for local consumption. To date, I have driven to all corners of Switzerland and some of southern Germany tasting beer along the way and I haven't yet found a better beer than this one. The brewery is only open on Friday evening from 5-10pm. So imagine my delight when I drive by on a Saturday and saw a bus load of people sitting around the tables out front. Screech go the breaks and out comes the American asking questions. Come to find out that a yodeling club has rented the place for a private party. Private until I came along that is. Ten minutes after I show up they start singing. This is true Swiss tradition in dress-down, relaxed mode. Just some Swiss yodelers out for a fun day.

I have had a dream that maybe one day I will experience the people and their music of this beautiful country. At this stage still just a dream. I do not understand what is sung but I can feel their love for the music when they sing. One day!!! Absolutely beautiful song!!!!
