Eva’s first comment was so helpful. “Just start” is a mantra I personally need to hold to. If Depression was an Apartment it’d be mine! No one comes in, except maintenance once or twice a year, no one. No friends no family. I was encouraged by Eva
I also battle with depression and my husband helped me by giving me this quote - "Just do ONE thing". It's a game changer. One thing always leads to more. :) I've always told my children, "To have a friend, you must show yourself as friendly". I also encourage you to reach out to ONE person this week, Jennifer. You might be they only person they've talked to in a long time too. You've got this!

I'm a professional organizer and I was floored by Eva's work. What an amazing transformation! It definitely shows how with some clients they just need to be told the idea of how to get unstuck or hot to transform their space and when it's the right thing for them, they can just run with it.
It looks like art! No different than hanging pictures.

I appreciate that you did not advise Eva to get rid of her beautiful clothes. Minimalists probably gasp in horror seeing what she kept and delighted in displaying. I delight in my wall library of books. I refuse to hold each one up and ask if it sparks joy! I do occasionally thin it out of titles no longer relevant but primarily to make room for new ones 🥰
Plenty of non-minimalists find success with KonMari 😀 If your entire wall collection of books brings you joy and it fits, then there’s obviously no need to use the spark joy test.

Cass, I just love the joy you always have. You are so full of energy and motivation. I am struggling so hard trying to work a full time job for the first time in 20 years, a full time mom, wife, my home and now my grand mother who is 84, I am helping her several days a week as well, that brings joy to my life I just wish I had more time. Every morning I wake up and say today I am going to do this or that. I have went and got so many different things to organize my kitchen and different places in my home, but by the time I get off work it is all I have to do the dishes and cook dinner. I wish I was more like you. Watching your videos help inspire me. Thank you so much

Cass, I found you a week or so ago and I got hopeful. I am so tired of a disorganized and clutter house. For years I have tried different things but with five kids, somehow things kept coming. After praying for years trying to figure out what is wrong, I got my very simple answer declutter, that is it. There is more to it. But you were part of that answer and I really appreciate what your are doing and I wanted to thank you for sharing it.

I am obsessed with watching your channel. I have secretly wished I could have you come live with me for a couple of months!! I'm a "bee" and I have no idea how or where to start! Over the past 15 years I've lost my husband, moved at least 5 times, became a nurse, and just completed my Master's program.
I still have boxes that I packed when my husband passed away and from when I relocated to be near my family a year later; plus the ones from all the other moves... I have books and papers everywhere from all of my classes. (WHY did I think I might need them again?!?!) Thank you so much for being such an inspiration to all of us out here!!!

This confirms I’m a cricket. I love the color coded organization and I love the closet on the wall and all that organization but then I wanted to put doors around the clothes - lol. Oh wow.

It's because you care about others, have been there, and understand! I'm a hot mess, but having that encouragement that (usually) doesn't come across as judgmental, is often what I need to keep going and believe in myself.

Well done Eva!! As a cricket I’m not much for open storage like that but I have to say it looks absolutely beautiful. It’s way harder than it looks to plan a working AND aesthetically pleasing storage solution like that and you not only did it bit you did it really, really well. Yes! Peter Walsh. His words that always come back to me are "don't throw good space after bad money." The space is worth more than keeping something just because you paid for it and feel guilty. Thanks for your energy and inspiration Cass!

peter walsh has a his new show on here in Australia every Saturday night. He changes a families life each week. not sure if you can see it in US its called Space Invaders. I still remember the first time I saw him when he was on Oprah many years ago.

That was inspiring Cass it made me so happy for her and more determined to think outside the box
watching you has absolutely changed my life- I have been trying to organize the place I moved into for 3 years- have read other books, had friends help, even a friend who is a professional organizer but learning from you & watching your transformation, and the system you developed with the types changed everything- I finally understand the macro vs micro, the visual vs hidden, how to approach each space and BAM! I am getting it done. I have chronic fatigue & other health issues that hinder but with pacing myself, watching your videos, listening to you for motivation I am getting each space decluttered & organized. My friends are amazed as they have been hearing me complaining about my frustration & overwhelm for years & now I am like “oh, I understand how to do this now, and I am almost done reorganizing the whole kitchen, just one cabinet left”. Truly phenomenal. I have been a pack rat my whole life & am definitely a bee (who loves crafting) so everything is fair game to be upcycled. Finally learned to let go through your videos. Can’t thank you enough 🥰

You are such an inspiration. I follow every video of yours I can find. I’m pretty sure I am a Lady Bug. I moved into a senior apartment a few years ago and have been struggling with closet/storage space. The living room and kitchen look great. The bedroom is also my studio for art and sewing, even that looks pretty good. The pantry is a work in progress, I feel like I should empty the whole thing, take everything to the food pantry and just start over! Then there is the bedroom closet that is also my storage area. I have been on a continuous reorganization/decluttering binge since moving here. I think stuff just generates in there, no matter how many trips I make to the Salvation Army drop off, and I don’t shop or buy things, I just keep purging and moving things around. I somehow have this vision of a Pinterest perfect space and it’s not happening. Suggestions welcome!
Ps, your transformation is PHENOMENAL! I too had gastric bypass 13 years ago. From a size 26 to a size 4 and I'm healthy! Good job!

Eva - you are one hellava woman! You are very strong and have such conviction in yourself. I hope that when you have time, you help other people get to your level in whatever ways that are possible. To be honest, I would be intimidated to put together a rail system. I find that just putting together an IKEA table can be exhausting. You did a beautiful job and you did it on your own and for yourself. Enjoy your current liberation and new life! Big hugs to you too!

No Cas, you were never making “bad” videos. I’ve been watching you since you had a daycare in your home and I was looking for ideas for managing the grandchildren. Your sparkling personality always shone through whatever you were doing and you were encouraging with your enthusiasm for everything you do. And that’s why you’ve been so deservedly successful. In a world where there is no certainty and very little hope, this was inspiring to me, I have struggled so much in my past with basically the same issues as yourself, I made a decision tonight - no more! So after a good nights sleep (God willing) tomorrow begins the journey of a lifetime, instead of seeking approval from others I am doing this for me. It's not something I will be broadcasting to others because of past failures, I am just going to take the first steps and let the journey speak for itself so here goes Cass....

Watching your videos definitely changed my life! Following all your challenges a few years ago was monumental in my housekeeping game! I feel like I have been on this journey with you, and it's been so liberating! So THANK YOU CASS! This ish is hard, even harder with childhood trauma and mental health issues, but because of people like you and the people you work with, you've given soooo many others the tools we needed to conquer our clutter and get our lives in order. My home has really become a peaceful, relaxing haven for me and my special needs kids. Now I can just spend a few minutes cleaning up, and giving my kids the quality time and attention they really need. It's like before going on this journey with you we were just surviving, and now we're truly thriving! I can't thank you enough for never giving up on what you do.
