The meatball and jasmine rice ice cream reminds me of a modern-hip take on a traditional Thai summer dish “kao chae”, you should try that too ☺️
When you're going gourmet and you know the bill will make a dent, the No.1 consideration is that your date (wife) will be blown away 😋 I've no idea how it tasted but looked and sounded like it was worth every penny 🤑

This reminds me of a cool spot I was in Bangkok at the roof top restaurant with awesome view called the Dome at Lebua. Where they film the Hangover 2. It cost $600.00 USD for two people. Worth it for the experience not worth it for the food. 😅

Visited Bkk 2019 and dine in Gaggan just before he closed his original restaurant...planning to visit Bkk again in few mths for a short getaway and thinking trying this place

The last time we were in Bangkok we ate at Le Du, I guess my wife and I are not sophisticated enough to appreciate the food and understand the fame. :-(

Being cheaper then LA or NYC is nothing to rave about when it's in Thailand. $125 for a tiny meal in Thailand is nothing but theft.

I ate at Paste in Gaysorn in February, a Michelin-starred Thai restaurant. It was absolutely fabulous! Some of the best food I have ever eaten. Not best Thai food. Not best Michelin food. The best food ever. 7,500THB (£186 or $220) for two including all food and cocktails. Looks like Le Du will be on the list for November when I return 😂

Hi Chris & Hayley, It`s nice to have perhaps once a year a classy chic and pricey Gourmet adventure - you both are beautiful styled ! the food looked interesting and of course very delish with important informations what`s about ingredients etc. I like your "Le Du" experience. What i didn`t like, the ceiling of the room is too low, i prefere high rooms in a classy restaurant - that`s me lol ! 🤗great vlog, Thy ! 🙏✌

Loved the vlog Chris you're super hilarious although all I keep thinking was how gimmicky it all looked, it's a few Leo's and street food for me.
I went shortly after they opened. It was still affordable and pretty good, but not, dare I say, world class
Chris Come visit San Francisco, $125 is a bill for an average restaurant, ok for 3 people. A large Pizza will cost you $45 US. Dinner out at an average Thai restaurant will set you back $80 and you have to give a 20% tip on top, you will come out disgusted with what you got.
So $125 for La Du is a darn good deal
To dodge crap and used fentanyl needles? Would need to pay a lot and give me a gun and vest for me to ever go back to that city. Bunch of people just got shot at the Ferry Building in the middle of the day.

I will be in Bangkok in June, and I am looking for tasty payable foods in and around the vicinity of Khao San Road. The 'Le Du' restaurant was packed with Hi-So residents, and that's fine. Let's support the simple, tasty food sellers in the streets of Krung Thep. Chok dee, khun Chris and wife.
Should try Loyrom. New Asian/Nordic fusion. Soi 26. Michelin chef. Fine dining, much more affordable. New summer menu. Great parking and not crowded.....yet. check it out.

I ate there about 5 years ago and although the food is good I dont think its #1 in Asia. Was cool to get a tour of the kitchen and finding out sous vide style of cooking. Chef was very nice!

Lovely video. It ain’t in the top 10 rated restaurant in Thailand let alone Asia. Friends have been and didn’t rate their experience too highly. Staff are nice apparently, but food isn’t worth it.
