The sensor on your guide camera must be set the same distance from the prism as your main camera is from the prism.
That is the piece of the puzzle I was looking for! Thank you very much 😊👍 I was thinking of measuring from the back of the scope or reducer like I do to determine the backfocus for the main camera, but I didn't think about measuring from the prism. In fact, figuring out how to measure from the back of the telescope when it bends halfway through was what I was having a hard time figuring out. I'll probably do a video on off axis guiders in the future and will definitely put this tidbit in there. You're my hero. Thanks again!
You are so funny my take off on this is the more stuff you get the more problems and tinkering that you have to work out but you eventually prevailed, as they say if you don't succeed try try again!😂🎉
Hey, Mr. Wilson! 🙋♀️ Hubble and Webb better step aside, now that you're entering the room. 🌌🔭 Can't wait to see what pics come out of the new equipment. 📸
Your are so funny. Your neighbour with the light been brighter than the sun. Lol
the pacman nebula looks like a tree😄
Ah, the joys of astrophotography :)
Grats on the newish gear & nice shot! CS!
Well, that explains the non-stop rain here in Tacoma... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol. Right? Every. Single. Time. 🤣
Look forwards to your progress with mono. Ive stuck with osc cameras due to lack of clear skies. I use NINA on all my rigs. Its an awesome piece of software and I've managed to fully automate everything. Select and frame target(s) set imaging sequence(s) and NINA does it all. Only downside is you need a pc or laptop connected.
When I first started astrophotography, I went the same route. Laptop, Nina, etc. The battery on my laptop is not that great and so I had power issues. Basically I had to stay within arm's length of an outlet or extension cord as the battery I use for the telescope wasn't sufficient to power the laptop as well. The ASI air rectified those issues for me. But I must admit, the laptop route has so many additional options that allow you to really dial in what you're doing. I hope you get some clear skies soon. 👍
Good video! I'm a recent subscriber, but also just moved to mono myself! There is a learning curve indeed.... I not only went mono, but I also went from the ASIAIR to NINA. Didn't really have a choice as my mono gear is all QHY... Anyway, looking forward to seeing your progress!
What do you think of nina vs the asiair? Good to know I'm not the only one that experienced mono growing pains 😉
@MrWilsonsChannel NINA is a lot more complicated mostly because you have to use a variety of drivers and other software apps such as PHD2. That said, I think I get better results with it. I have no plans to stop using my ASIAIR with my ZWO gear though!
Also - what is that trolley cart and case you have your mount, counterweights and tripod spreader in?
I actually did a video on that exact topic if you'd like to check it out:
