I recently bought a cheap £22 drone whilst on vacation from a random market. The camera was labelled as 4K, but I can count the pixels 😭 It's got all the cool technology, hovering mode, return to home and that sort of stuff but when it comes to camera quality it's definitely worth it to increase your budget.
dude i started flying because of your videos. from a little cheerson and protoX, all the blade ones, dromida and latrax(my 2 favorite) i could beat on those and finally the Dji. you made buy the good affordable ones. i guess its time for a plane. gonna just go with an A-10. i aint gonna start out small. thanks guys.
I bought my first drone in June! I looked at a few Holystones but ended up getting the Potensic Atom SE. it’s got great features, plus it’s about $100 cheaper! I love it! Great video Nate & Abby! 👍❤️🇺🇸
Finally Holy Stone put out a pretty decent drone. This is by far better than the previous ones you've shown. A lot better range and video quality. Still some jello here and there but pretty good. Would still really like you guys to show/try the Potensic Atom - either SE or the 3-axis gimbal one. Cheers and God bless!

Fan boy here :-) I think that if you are a recreational flyer only, getting selfies or memories of vacation, etc., these lower tiered drones have a sweet spot right at this price point (this one is a little too big for those mpurposes though). But what they are lacking IS significant. Range, video bit rate, precise flight control, intelligent flight modes that actually work as claimed, battery life, color profiles, smooth video transmission, straight horizons, and so on. Even the lowest cost DJI (mini 4k) doesn't cost much more than this one, but beats this one in most (if not all all) of the categories that I just mentioned. But I agree with you that there are some really trashy ~$100 garbage drones out there, stay away from those. It is my theory that those are marketed for gift buyers trying to please teenage kids, never really understanding what they are buying and the recipients never reviewing what they got. On the flip side, I think it is too bad that DJI is starting to undercut this target market with their overwhelmingly better quality, as other manufacturers are just going to exit the playing field throwing their hands up in the air thinking "what's the point?". Take the soon to be released DJI Neo for example. Me, I'll keep my Mavic 2 and Skydio2 forever, as those six and four year old drones still do exactly what I want, so why replace them?
This is how I found out about your channel my friends years and years ago cause of drones i remember you guys flying drones in the mall and Popeye chasing drones in the backyard and the field good to see drones again but I do like DJI drones 😊😊😊😊⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️
Abby and Nate do you still have the HolyStone everyone I have tested ( 3 of them) has been fine for a few flights then one day it just leaves, heading into the distance never to be seen again. why waste $400 on something that will fly away when you can get a Dji Mini for not much more.

Thanks for the review. I'd like to upgrade from my Bugs20EIS and stay in this price range, but I'm once bitten twice shy. Earlier this year I ordered the HS720G and had connectivity problems with my tablet plus severe toilet bowling that ended with a swim. Luckily I purchased the protection plan and was able to get my money back. I'll stay on the sidelines for now but will keep this one in mind.
That’s awesome but honestly if you have the mini 4 pro it sounds like you have a superior drone! Still, it can be nice to fly something less expensive or maybe if you want a friend to fly a drone that costs a little less, this could be very handy for that too 👍💯😎⚓️

I made the mistake of buying a Holy Stone HS360S and it was absolute garbage. App didn't work on my newer phone so I tried an older phone. That worked but the video barely worked and was maybe 5fps when it wasn't automatically disconnecting. Immediately returned it.

Specta (Dji) Mini 4k goes for around $250 on Amazon (US) which is in this price range. This is quite a tough sell for me. The video footage on this holy stone has jello effect which makes it look unstable

DJI is advancing their technology fast. That’s why we pay more. The HS gimbal on this one is catching up. Still a downgrade from a DJI mini for $40 bucks more.

Do you know how reliable holy stone is? You have one? I see someone on here is using theirs for 3 years. And from what I see I can buy about 5 holy stone drones to 1 DJI.

In all fairness, we’ve had DJI drones lose signal and have buggy issues as well. It really boils down to the model most of the time. HS has had buggy drones and we’ve showed them before. This HS600 seems very solid. Very! We’ve also had DJI drones have buggy issues before. Our DJI Inspire was the worst drone we’ve ever owned and it was insanely expensive. That’s why we make our videos, to help narrow these choices down, hopefully. Happy Flying! 👍💯😎⚓️

The Ruko F11 Pro drone seems to be a clone of this? Or vice versa? Our Ruko lost signal (stopped streaming live feed) within 700-1500 ft away with line of sight. Video quality didn’t seem as crisp on the Ruko as this one. Eventually after three loss of GPS crashes on our Ruko, I gave up. Looking to get back into drone flying, I don’t like DJI privacy (or lack there of) policies. Someday I’ll find the perfect balance. Thanks for the review guys!
I have the first Autel eveo drone . it is 6 years old and still does great 4k video....... you can find them cheap... I also can go several miles away with it
I believe the HS600 has a better range and video signal transmission. Also, it is the newer model to my knowledge, but they are very similar drones. 👍⚓️
DJI is getting to a point where no one can really afford them anymore. What do you mean, like what did we do with them? We still have all except the old DJI Spark and the original Inspire. 👍💯😎⚓️
I really don't get the comparison because it's 3 axis compared to 2 axis gimbal. If you go up to 3 axis in Holy Stone with 4K it's almost the same price as DJI with same specs.

Look for one of those scanner type stickers. Just went thru that with a Mavic 2 pro trying to register it. Had to call DJI customer service and they said you need to scan the sticker with your phone to get it. Then you need to call them again when that dont work and get the 4 (secret) numbers you need to add in front of the serial number and the one number behind it to register it with the FAA ... wow ... almost unbelievable. Cant they just put a sticker in the battery box that shows the correct serial number you need to register it?
You always talk about AMA. One thing is you should let people know you need to register that drone and have a commercial certification to use it for your videos. It needs to have the registration on the drone.
The FAA changes their “rules” so often that we have found it really confuses people about what it is that they need to do. This is extremely situational too, and location based. Example: if we would have older videos out talking about needing a full scale pilots license to fly a drone and a person watches that video today, it would be very confusing. The best thing a person can do is have AMA, call them and ask the questions that will apply to them if they are curious. Also, regarding our numbers (we are registered) we don’t show them on our UA-cam channel for obvious safety and security purposes for our family and young children. We’ve dealt with scary stalker situations in the past, which forced us to move so we keep some personal things private. I hope you can relate to our privacy requests and understand why we don’t take the time to “teach” our viewers what the FAA is looking for. Again, we strongly encourage safe flying and self education. We simply can’t keep up with the ever changing ideas from the FAA and would be unrealistic for us to take the time to educate everyone in every video how the government wants you to play with your toys. Probably depends more on where you are flying than anything. And for what purposes. Hard for anyone to keep up with all of that jazz. Or do you mean for the drone itself? I’m sure it can fly as high as it was far out, but we try to keep it safe and well under 400 feet, especially posting videos online. We don’t want to encourage kids to fly dangerously high or anything. Happy Flying! 👍💯😎⚓️
yes and no. sure if your planning to just mess about with a drone like that you might as well get a fun analog tiny whoop fpv. It seems that its a bit of a waste of money to by a drone like that. Try practicing on a simulator and than getting a better drone. (like the dji mini) Nice video but I would have a partially disagree .

A few negative reviews are talking about flyaways. I think it looks solid, good features. But, since the faa got involved, I decided to get out of that hobby.
100 percent disagree I started with holy stone drones. They are no way in any way even come close to DJI drones very false information I don’t own any Holy Stone drones anymore, they all flew away. But my DJI mini 2 mini 3 pro and mini 4 pro all still fly and are the most dependable .and my DJI drones will always come home, and it is very dependable, and the distance penetration is untouchable from holy Stone
DJI makes a very Great entry level drone that is incredibly dependable and DJI quality will always come home with a great camera the mini 2 se or the new DJI mini 4K drone is untouchable at a affordable entry level drone. I’m really not beaten holy Stone drones up, but the range is absolutely terrible. Everyone I’ve ever bought I’ve lost.

You are right that newbies should start out on a cheaper drone,the only problem is that the functionality of the cheaper drone may turn off the person from diving into drones.i say save up ,get a dji mini 4k and get care refresh,because that will be much more happier and fulfilled.that is what happened to me.i now own 7 dji drones and only been flying for 20 months.thst is my opinion and I would like a response from you thank you😊
Honestly, i just built a toothpick for about that, but its HD in goggles, true HD camera, its got gps, and it runs on my taranis unlike the cheap controllers they always pair with these. Multiple times faster, and the range destroys most of these china drones.
Its no DJI but you get what you pay for. Camera is sluggish and laggy yup a $250 drone !! Save up and buy a DJI Mini, well worth the money !!! Better get your AMA with this thing .
The problem with all djis are the virtual fence that won’t let you fly near airports or no fly zones which in a grid down situation you would clearly wanna know about these places !

I dunno. No offense to you good folks, but those antennas are fake in that controller. There's nothing inside those fold-up parts. I don't really trust a company that puts misleading things in their products. It makes me question every single claimed feature the product is supposed to have, when they can't even do external antennas (which is fine, i guess) but they've gotta design the controller so it *appears* to have external antennas.... that's not a good sign. Once again, no offense to you two.
Ah fair point! We’ve seen many drones do this. Fake antennas, but I honestly don’t know if that’s the case with this exact drone. I’m going to go check my controller after the kiddos are asleep and will follow up. I’m sure some of the cheaper HS drones do this, but very curious about this one because the range was so good. 👍💯😎⚓️

I made the mistake of buying a Holy Stone HS360S and it was absolute garbage. App didn't work on my newer phone so I tried an older phone. That worked but the video barely worked and was maybe 5fps when it wasn't automatically disconnecting. Immediately returned it.

Specta (Dji) Mini 4k goes for around $250 on Amazon (US) which is in this price range. This is quite a tough sell for me. The video footage on this holy stone has jello effect which makes it look unstable

DJI is advancing their technology fast. That’s why we pay more. The HS gimbal on this one is catching up. Still a downgrade from a DJI mini for $40 bucks more.

Do you know how reliable holy stone is? You have one? I see someone on here is using theirs for 3 years. And from what I see I can buy about 5 holy stone drones to 1 DJI.

In all fairness, we’ve had DJI drones lose signal and have buggy issues as well. It really boils down to the model most of the time. HS has had buggy drones and we’ve showed them before. This HS600 seems very solid. Very! We’ve also had DJI drones have buggy issues before. Our DJI Inspire was the worst drone we’ve ever owned and it was insanely expensive. That’s why we make our videos, to help narrow these choices down, hopefully. Happy Flying! 👍💯😎⚓️

The Ruko F11 Pro drone seems to be a clone of this? Or vice versa? Our Ruko lost signal (stopped streaming live feed) within 700-1500 ft away with line of sight. Video quality didn’t seem as crisp on the Ruko as this one. Eventually after three loss of GPS crashes on our Ruko, I gave up. Looking to get back into drone flying, I don’t like DJI privacy (or lack there of) policies. Someday I’ll find the perfect balance. Thanks for the review guys!

I believe the HS600 has a better range and video signal transmission. Also, it is the newer model to my knowledge, but they are very similar drones. 👍⚓️

I really don't get the comparison because it's 3 axis compared to 2 axis gimbal. If you go up to 3 axis in Holy Stone with 4K it's almost the same price as DJI with same specs.

Look for one of those scanner type stickers.
Just went thru that with a Mavic 2 pro trying to register it.
Had to call DJI customer service and they said you need to scan the sticker with your phone to get it.
Then you need to call them again when that dont work and get the 4 (secret) numbers you need to add in front of the serial number and the one number behind it to register it with the FAA ... wow ... almost unbelievable.
Cant they just put a sticker in the battery box that shows the correct serial number you need to register it?

You referred to the obstacle avoidance camera on the front of the drone. This drone does NOT have obstacle avoidance.
You always talk about AMA. One thing is you should let people know you need to register that drone and have a commercial certification to use it for your videos. It needs to have the registration on the drone.
The FAA changes their “rules” so often that we have found it really confuses people about what it is that they need to do. This is extremely situational too, and location based.
Example: if we would have older videos out talking about needing a full scale pilots license to fly a drone and a person watches that video today, it would be very confusing. The best thing a person can do is have AMA, call them and ask the questions that will apply to them if they are curious. Also, regarding our numbers (we are registered) we don’t show them on our UA-cam channel for obvious safety and security purposes for our family and young children. We’ve dealt with scary stalker situations in the past, which forced us to move so we keep some personal things private. I hope you can relate to our privacy requests and understand why we don’t take the time to “teach” our viewers what the FAA is looking for. Again, we strongly encourage safe flying and self education. We simply can’t keep up with the ever changing ideas from the FAA and would be unrealistic for us to take the time to educate everyone in every video how the government wants you to play with your toys. Probably depends more on where you are flying than anything. And for what purposes. Hard for anyone to keep up with all of that jazz. Or do you mean for the drone itself? I’m sure it can fly as high as it was far out, but we try to keep it safe and well under 400 feet, especially posting videos online. yes and no. sure if your planning to just mess about with a drone like that you might as well get a fun analog tiny whoop fpv. It seems that its a bit of a waste of money to by a drone like that. Try practicing on a simulator and than getting a better drone. (like the dji mini) Nice video but I would have a partially disagree .

100 percent disagree I started with holy stone drones. They are no way in any way even come close to DJI drones very false information I don’t own any Holy Stone drones anymore, they all flew away. But my DJI mini 2 mini 3 pro and mini 4 pro all still fly and are the most dependable .and my DJI drones will always come home, and it is very dependable, and the distance penetration is untouchable from holy Stone

DJI makes a very Great entry level drone that is incredibly dependable and DJI quality will always come home with a great camera the mini 2 se or the new DJI mini 4K drone is untouchable at a affordable entry level drone. I’m really not beaten holy Stone drones up, but the range is absolutely terrible. Everyone I’ve ever bought I’ve lost.

You are right that newbies should start out on a cheaper drone,the only problem is that the functionality of the cheaper drone may turn off the person from diving into drones.i say save up ,get a dji mini 4k and get care refresh,because that will be much more happier and fulfilled.that is what happened to me.i now own 7 dji drones and only been flying for 20 months.thst is my opinion and I would like a response from you thank you😊

Honestly, i just built a toothpick for about that, but its HD in goggles, true HD camera, its got gps, and it runs on my taranis unlike the cheap controllers they always pair with these. Multiple times faster, and the range destroys most of these china drones.

The problem with all djis are the virtual fence that won’t let you fly near airports or no fly zones which in a grid down situation you would clearly wanna know about these places !

I dunno. No offense to you good folks, but those antennas are fake in that controller. There's nothing inside those fold-up parts.
I don't really trust a company that puts misleading things in their products.
It makes me question every single claimed feature the product is supposed to have, when they can't even do external antennas (which is fine, i guess) but they've gotta design the controller so it *appears* to have external antennas.... that's not a good sign.

Ah fair point! We’ve seen many drones do this. Fake antennas, but I honestly don’t know if that’s the case with this exact drone. I’m going to go check my controller after the kiddos are asleep and will follow up. I’m sure some of the cheaper HS drones do this, but very curious about this one because the range was so good. 👍💯😎⚓️
There are a number of drones that are better than DJI, and cheaper. DJI have just become an overpriced brand name.

Nah, DJI earned their name with the level of polish and quality they consistently display with their hardware AND software.
