This is going to be a fun project. Looking forward to seeing more. You are sooo creative. I need to color coordinate my fabrics. Lol Maybe one day. 🍁🍁🍁
This will be nice to watch being created. I wonder if you will get the desire to go out and find fabric again for smaller quilts? Cool and rainy weather for the last 2 days. Rest well. Best wishes~ Valerie.
I don’t think I am going to do mine in blocks. I think I am going to collage it onto a linen top sheet I found at the local women’s shelter thrift store. . I think I am going to make a bedspread for my twin bed. I am going to use flannel as a batting. And a backing. Really light batting like for recieving blankets. I am going to quilt as I go kantha stitching like Rachel did. It will be very thin and lightweight. Then, not sure or not. But I may be doing some lace appliqué, some embroidery, and beadwork with seed beads on mine. Sort of like you do with a crazy quilt. Not sure. I will decide at the time. I am going to try and take it as I go. Because I am not certain if I have enough fabric. I will order some of Rachel’s fabric. And I have some vintage fabric, and some reproduction civil war fabric, and some flour sack squares. Scraps. And if you go on the aurafil thread web site, they have a free block of the month appliqués. I think you can still download the free ones for 2024. They are birds. So, I may even do some appliqué. I am going to take it as I go. I can already tell with some of the fabrics so far how very nice yours is going to turn out. Very pretty.
Thank you, Jackie, for sharing your quilt plan with me! I initially intended to use flannel, but since I couldn't find any in my stash, I opted for wool batting, which was easy to stitch! I will follow Corrine on her Facebook group and hope to see pictures there! 🧵💕🪡
