    Love the block pattern stitch. Your camera angle and lighting are perfect for being able to see the exact end stitch in which the hook must be placed. After 50+ years of actively crocheting, I am still learning new things about the craft. Thank you sharing your talent.

    Thank you so much for this video. I have watched so many UA-cam tutorials on this one particular stitch and so far, you are the ONLY one who has explained it in a way to where I can understand it. Again, thank you. God loves you. God bless you.

    I absolutely love the way you teach us you are very patient at first I didn't realize this is you but then I look back and seen this was from 6 years ago. This is a beautiful blanket I'm going to try I think on a dish rag first. TFS ♥️

    Thank you so much. I’m a beginner and wanted to learn this stitch. All of the other videos made it seem so complicated I had pretty much given up. Your video is simple to watch and stitch along

    Thank you my Lady for the best explanation that I've got for a block stitch. I've seen many, but yours is sweet, short and to the point. I being a Southern girl just can't quite understand some of these videos. Once again thank you.💗

    THANK YOU for this tutorial! I appreciate the camera work - nice and close; the clear directions, the absence of extra chatter and the pauses - which are very helpful as it's hard sometimes to hit pause quickly enough to not have to back up.

    I hope this saves a project. I have varigated yarn with crazy short color changes that just might work for the chain three spaces. I have messed with it all week and can't find anything I like. I'm going to pair it with ivory and I am hoping this will do the trick. It's very pretty but with quick color changes. We shall see.

      Oh my gosh it works perfectly!! It's going to be a cute baby blanket. I don't know why I didn't think of this pattern sooner. Sometimes we have to learn our yarn and what it wants to do. I'm loving it and I'm already thinking of border ideas. I know I'm on the right track now. Bless you! I didn't want this yarn going in time out.

    Have seen this pattern and wondered how to make it. Thank you for such an easy tutorial to follow. One request, though. Could you please mention the US size of hook as well as the metric size? I have trouble converting them if the hook does not have metric on it. (and several of mine do not have it.) thank you again

    You said that you chained 150 plus 1 for a bigger afghan! What I would like to know is how much yarn did you have to have to finish that larger afghan? I know it probably was a while back so guestimating would be fine also with the size of afghan if you please! I would dearly love to make one for my husband and I that is why I would like to know these questions! Thank you so much! Tammie

    • @terrymuse8572
      @terrymuse8572 5 років тому

      tammie nipp I am making one now and am about half way done. So I can tell you mine is 25 inches wide and will be 60 long before the border. It will take 2 of the one pound balls for the white plus you other colors

    • @maryfrisbie3621
      @maryfrisbie3621 4 роки тому

      Why do you cut off the white yarn? Just leave it attached you will have less to weave in

  • @terricarter6461

    Hi, I've made the blanket following your directions...but my blanket is not square, more like a slight parallelogram...any ideas? can it be blocked to correct the shape? I've counted the blocks and they are the same for each row. If I pull at opposite corners, it straightens it, but doesn't stay.

    • @ThisSouthernGirlCan
      @ThisSouthernGirlCan  6 років тому

      If all of your counts are correct, then I'm sure a good blocking will straighten it right out. :D

    • @lindarittman4902
      @lindarittman4902 6 років тому

      i have done a block stitch twice using one of the tutorials

    • @terrymuse8572
      @terrymuse8572 5 років тому

      I am working on one now and I am having the same issue. Edited: I got about half way done and before I went any further I wanted to make sure it was going to block up right. I soaked it in water and then played it out on some cardboard. As soon as I lay it down it was square. So once you are finished with the main part, block the afghan before you do the boarder.

      @cherylsluder2693 4 роки тому

      Lynn Fraserif you do, you'll need to have two skeins of the white, because you change colors on every end

    Do you have a tutorial in how to create a border while working in all those ends?

    • @ThisSouthernGirlCan
      @ThisSouthernGirlCan  6 років тому

      At the moment, I do not have one. What I do is just a few rows of half double crochets for the border, working the ends up the sides as I go.

    If you use two balls of yarn, you don’t have to cut every time
